Visiting New Jersey from Texas this place was recommended for their burgers. Upon reading their menu & how they locally source many of their ingredients I decided to splurge & order the Seafood Sampler. Especially after having the New England style clam chowder. Im no chowder expert, but I greatly enjoyed my bowl & that helped sway me in the seafood direction. I should have gotten a burger. The sampler can be ordered either broiled or fried, I opted for broiled on all but the calamari (The waitress mentioned a house made beer batter so I got the calamari fried.) The Shrimp was overdone & lacked seasoning, same with scallops, although both had excellent natural flavor. The calamari was good, but nothing special, tasted like any other seafood chain Ive ever had. The crabcake, however, was amazing. Being from the gulf coast I get great seafood regularly but Ive never had better. Completely unmolested, sweet meat broiled to perfection. Their house brewed porter was also very good, but at $7 a pint I wouldnt drink more then one. I, most likely, wont be in town long to go back, but if I do it will strictly be for the crab cake, & maybe a bowl of chowder. Or just to try the burger as was recommended.

There advertisement made it sound a really nice place but from the very beginning it was a whole disappointment. Frist the host wasnt the most friendly, he just was like yea whatever youre here. After we sat down it took the waitress more than 15 to realize that we were there, and I dont know why cuz she keep going back and foward right next to our table and still we were invisible. After we finally got acknowledged, we started reading the really limited menu, but still we were hopping things may get better.. wrong!. once our order came we started to notice some things, frist our waitress seem to be lacking of care because of two trips she made to our table, twice she spill some of the food. While we eat, we notice that the soup tasted a bit cheap, and the sea food tasted and looked like if they bought it t walmart, funny for a place that clames that there sea food is the freshes sea food. to summarize my trip; We eat, we tasted, were never comming back!

My Family and I eat here just about twice a week. The Food, Service and Character is by far better that any other Pub in the area! The ark is a typical Pub. Wooden Floors, Wooden Booths, Fireplace, and a Great Bar. With over 125 beers, one of the largest selections of craft beers in the area, the Ark has something for everyone. The FRESHEST Fish, much of it caught locally and delivered daily, i have never had a anything other than the best! My Family and all of my neighbors dine here often. Its always a great time. I read another review posted, and quite frankly, i find it hard to believe. I guess due to the lack of detail. A "Fish Diner", If that really happened, wouldnt you write what kind of fish it was? The owners are always there, ALWAYS. When you go in, ask for Dan or Tony, Maybe the nicest brother in the industry. The Ark is like a big Family. Most employees have been there for over 10 years, and a few, over 20. Hope to see you at the Ark!!

Cozy, Rusty bar. The bar-tender was very friendly and chirpy. They had a good variety of Drafts and other drinks. Then Nachos i ordered very very extra cheesy and bland so 4 stars, but definitely recommend to visit and chill on a summer evening.

The staff were all very friendly and you could tell they worked hard to be as attentive and quick as possible. The food came out in no time and was very delicious. The fries and onion rings were crispy and not overpowered by salt or grease.

Awesome atmosphere, beer tap and food! Fireplace is just right for a cold day at the beach. Beer on tap changes but you will always find a perfect IPA to cascade down your glass as you drink it! A must visit in Point Beach....

Great local pub. Excellent deal with fish cooked one of 3 ways, with choices of sauce, starch & salad. Great beer selection 10+ on tap, 50+ in bottles. Great cocktails. Great specials. Live music some nights.

I was a beer delivery guy for six years and the arc was the most repulsive and uncleanly resturant pub kitchen I have ever been in I would never eat or drink anything from here unless I had a death wish

Not many drink specials. Food is very good. Servers are very friendly and fun. Down side if you go during the day it is dark inside so you feel like when you walk out of the movies.

Overall good! The staff is nice but without fail always overcook the meat. Be it as a burger or steak. Always order it two levels below what you normally would. Rare= medium well here.

It really ought to ne called The Dark. Its kinda dirty and dingy and the food isnt as good as it was before the new ownership. I give The Dark two thumbs down.
