Years since I visited my friend in NJ and decided to come, she told me wonders of this place and shame I can not say anything nice. We reached the place and ordered drinks and an appetizer with the intention to order something later while enjoying the karaoke. It turns out that the girl was attending us to be well fastidiosa, as constantly going to ostigarnos to ordenaramos more food, not caring that we were touting the night, as it had communicated what we wanted. After 1 hour in this troublesome situation, Miss sample table decides to approach again to literally ask us to leave the place because she says there were people waiting outside (which check was not true). We finally decided to ask for the bill and leave to another place to end the night and eat in peace. In conclusion if you want to spend a good time with friends and family, this is not the best place. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

This restaurant is the worst place I never been before. I went there with my friend to have a good time and they mess my night. To start We ordered drinks and appetizer and they were asking us every 10 minutes if We were ready to order the entre, oh my God!!!!!!!!!!!! they didnt let me enjoy my drinks and appetizer it was very stressful. After a hr one of the girls came to me telling me that people were waiting outside so like if we not gonna order food I have to go. Really????!!! I was buying drinks and they are not cheap. Im not recommend this place to no one. They dont have ethics. Absolutely we were going to order food but its not when they want. I decided to leave and I went to another place to eat in peace.

I had shrimp taco which were good but rice was stale. I asked for sour cream came to find out are $2.00. My husband liked his burger but when the bill came for two people two drinks n two plates came to be $65 with gratuity of 18% with $3 of tax!!! Wheres the tax coming from and on top of that you only give gratuity on a party not for two people !! The server was nice but the manager so darn rude ! Gave my husband an attitude when he explained why is our bill so high! Very unprofessional!!! And as I left my stomach begins to hurt... I will never ever come back and dont recommend this place to anyone as a first timer never again !!!! Oh and at the end u find out that u have to pay to sit outside !! So pitiful!!

Para ser un restaurante mexicano, te esperas un poco de emoción en los sabores y en realidad me supo insípido, tuve que pedir picante sal y mucho limón para arreglar mi plato, con respecto al servicio el mesero muy atento y educado, pero la cuenta te llega con la propina incluida del 15% cosa que creo debería salir del cliente por cortesía...

Went in there for a late dinner with my boyfriend. Sever was okay however their lights went out on this night. Had to use my phone to be able to SEE my dinner. We were told that we were not allowed to leave the premises until their system went up to pay with our debit card. As a successful restaurant I believe they shouldve been more prepared with an extra generator. Plus the tip was added to the bill which is illegal if its just a party of two; they have a sign claiming that they add the 15% gratuity after a certain time but the sign is hanged in an unnoticeable area. I strongly do not recommend this place.

I am Shocked at the horrible comments . Im sorry they had a bad experience but I always come here on my birthday and i always have a good time as well as my family and friends! Not to mention the food is amazing !! Like I said every year i celebrate my birthday at el Mexicano and the staff was always so accommodating and they had a great Dj who did karaoke and we had a blast ! I highly recommend this place note the quesadilla is to die for!! Note to manager : if you need any help, waitress bartenders host let me know Im also bilingual and will bring excitement and business to your place I wont let you down!

I happen to stumble upon this place on a trip to visit family, and much to my surprise it was amazing! I live an hour and a half away in Pennsylvania, and sometimes make more of an effort to "visit family" since it allows to me to eat here. Its a bit cramped and sometimes it takes a little time to get service, but its well worth it. The foods delicious and the friendly smiles and service make it a wonderful experience. Everyone I bring from home also shares the same experience, and its my hope this place continues doing what theyre doing. I sincerely love it!

Walked in and we got a table quick because it was around lunch time. Waitress took about 15 min to greet us and ask us what we wanted to drink and left so quick that I didnt get a chance to order my appetizer. I order the guacamole and it did not have any flavor to it I had to put some salt. She took forever to come back for our main dish and didnt even offer if we wanted something else to drink.The food didnt taste that great I think I could of just stayed at home and made my own tacos.. Wouldnt recommend at all!!! Come to my house instead..lol

This is my favorite place to go to in Clifton. The bar has great specials like Margarita Mondays and Sangria Wednesdays. Theres also Taco Tuesdays and sometimes theres a DJ at night and people do karaoke, I love it. Theres also a nice patio in the back. The servers and bartenders here are great too, pretty attentive. Whenever my friends are nearby or ask for a suggestion of where to go out, El Mexicano is always at the top of my list.

Was ther on a Sat w friends... karaoke hadnt start n it was 10pm...we ask the guy if we sing n he said to giv him our song requests.... woman sang very good but so disappointed... they never let us sing.... woman kept singing same artists songs it was boring boring... Drinks are great... food is ok... dont waste your $$$ with the most expensive plates... they cant cook a churrasco meat was tough and undercooked...

I had two experiences: The first one was the owner thru out our party because he needed the table... Second time we went giving it a second try. The service was bad didnt give us a menu until we ask for it. Waited a long time until they took our order. The tip is also included in the bill , so I believe thats why they dont care of what kind of service they give.

Buen comida y buenos tragos. Recomendado los burritos o las Alitas BBQ. El Mojito es bueno aunque hay mejores. El servicio en general es muy bueno y amable.

I feel bad about your terrible experience but I like this place, I have years going with my husband and friend for a get together, for b-days, or karaoke night and the place has great music, good food, drinks and excellent environment. I love the hora loca, authentic or not the food is great. I recommend this place 100 %, do not go late because get full fast.
