Stayed for 6 nights in the off season (Mid-March) and it was well worth the money. We saved hundreds of dollars by coming in the off-season but im not one for large crowds anyway. Its a bit frustrating that everything is closed but when the town disappoints the Star Inn shines. We shacked up in the king bed efficiency room. It had beautiful french doors/windows and balcony with cute rocking chairs. Inside is a large couch and coffee table adjacent from a breakfast nook with a wall mounted flat screen HD television. Also featured a kitchenette (stove, fridge, sink, cupboards that were stocked with utensils and dinnerware/pots and pans) The bathroom was beautiful and the bedroom was breathtaking. The bed is massive and has a huge white down comforter. More French windows and another flat screen HDTV. Theres no on site staff so its like you have your own little apartment. If you need help theyre across the street at Congress Hall. They were very friendly and helpful. The TV went out one night and they promptly sent someone over.. Turns out it had to do with the cable provider (Comcast sucks.. ahem) and was fixed by the time we woke up in the morning. If you want a nice winter getaway this is the place to come just as long as you dont mind not having a million options when it comes to activities and places to dine. Although the Inn was immaculate im not so sure id want to pay well over a grand for the same time frame when its the summer.. but it would most likely be a lot cheaper than all the other hotels around. Good job!

Staying here for our anniversary and I must say I am very disappointed. The hotel room is old and my view from our room was the parking lot. We sat outside to stare at an old van. We paid over 500 a night which is ludicrous for this old fashioned room. There was no parking so we had to park across the street and carry our luggage all the way to the hotel while congress hall guests had valet service and bell hops. The bathroom was old and a little dirty with soap scum residue left from previous guests. The shades were jagged down the side and dirty as was the light switches. Very over priced.

Stayed in the Carriage Suite. A most wonderful one evening stay. Keeping in mind that the lodging is a renovation of an old structure, the accommodations were first class with the refinements of the room making this a first class stay. the room was neat, clean and classic with a flair of modern appliances and ceiling fans. Bed linen was simply amazing and mos comfortable. Baath rooms were very clean and well maintained..best shower I ever experienced. The check in staff were most helpful as we were met with smiles and most courteous service. Would definitely stay here again......

We enjoyed a windy, cold, January weekend at The Star Inn. It was very clean, decorated to our taste exactly, and the location was superb. We were in the top middle room where we could see the ocean upon waking. Really lovely! I recommend it - especially for couples who just want to get away to concentrate on each other. I also recommend Cape May at this time of year. Very pretty with the wintry landscape - and you feel like everyone is there just for you because there are not thousand of others around.

This was the cutest place Ive ever stayed. The decor was retro and charming and reminded me of something I may have seen at a great aunts as a child. The colors are very cheery. I had a front patio and a back patio. The front had rocking chairs and a porch swing while the back had a picnic table. It made me want to stay longer (or live there). Its also close to everything - the beach, restaurants, and shops. Id definitely stay here again.

Our room was very small and on the third floor. The only window looked directly onto another room. It was difficult to get out of the bed on one side without hitting your head on the slanted ceiling. No place to sit other than the bed. This was clean and attractively decorated but very uncomfortable. We had stayed in this inn before but were unaware that some rooms are very uncomfortable and not worth the price.

Weve been visiting for years. The Star is the little sister to Congress Hall and not only a great value, but a consistently amazing experience. Walking distance to everything, wonderful rooms (most with a view) and unparalleled service. I would live here if I could.

Nice place to stay. Almost every aspect of the rooms have been upgraded with a modern look, but you can tell there are old bones (that they have to work around). You are right near the ocean and if you are on the 2nd floor you can see it.

Its a nice place, clean and tidy. The room I stayed in was on the third floor with only stairs and somewhat narrow. The room was very small but I felt comfortable.

I had a nice time. I visited my family and had a few drinks at the bar. Everything went smoothly and we had great service. Will return.
