Please let me start this review off by saying that Ive been working on it for a long time. Why? Because the people that own this restaurant are some of the best people I know and I want to do them justice. I used to live upstairs from The Buttered Biscuit. I know, lucky right? The thing is, I didnt start out as a patron. We were neighbors. And Dave and Liz were the BEST neighbors. Always warm and cheerful, kind to my little girl and always inviting us in. Finally, we went. After that first taste of hot coffee and FRESH food, we were lifers. The Buttered Biscuit IS the best place on the Jersey Shore to get breakfast. From the smiling and committed owners to the quick and personal servers, the place radiates camaraderie and community. You truly feel like you are with friends and family even when dining alone. Now lets get to the food. Ive tried almost everything on that menu, even the delicious specials that they come up with. EVERYTHING IS WONDERFUL. The pork roll sandwiches are stacked high with meat on perfect rolls dripping with cheese. The blueberry muffins are bursting with fresh berries and just sweet enough to drink with their smooth and balanced coffee. The breakfast burrito is packed with savory ingredients and so big its hard to finish but so good you feel like you have to. The Ho Cakes are gigantic corn cakes griddled to perfection and served with sweet jam- terrific balance of sweet and buttery with incredible texture. The Cali Crab is piled high with real crab meat and so perfect for a setting so close to the beach. Omelettes at The Biscuit are a force to be reckoned with: the asparagus and Swiss, broccoli and Vermont cheddar, bacon and onion, and veggie are all SO incredible its nearly impossible to choose once youve tasted them all. The meatloaf is LITERALLY amazing. Just order it. Seriously. Corned beef hash is redefined by Dave. Its fresh, real meat with texture and flavor that are out of this world. Get eggs benedict on top with the hollandaise sauce and youll think youve reached nirvana. You must be wondering about the pancakes by now. OMG. Thats the only way to describe the generously portioned, perfectly cooked, scrumptiousness of the pancakes at The Buttered Biscuit. What about french toast, you ask? Call out of work, cancel your plans, and prepare for the most indulgent, delightful, magical carb experience you have ever had. Stuffed with anything from strawberries to nutella or pumpkin and cream cheese, these bad boys will send you over the edge of culinary bliss and right back into bed with their decadence. More of a simple breakfast person? No problem. Thats why my daughter always gets her “usual,” The Big G. Eggs cooked impeccably, real, fresh potatoes with spot on seasoning, and a biscuit or toast. GET THE BISCUIT. Liz makes biscuits that are so perfectly buttery that can stand alone or be eaten with the fabulous cinnamon butter or jam that are always served. Please go to this restaurant. Please taste everything. Please get to know the servers because they are so wonderful. Most of all, please thank the owners, Dave and Liz McAllister. Thank them for bringing energy and life to the corner of Main and LaReine. Thank them for having great character and never cutting corners. These people and this restaurant are truly remarkable and worth any trip made to visit even if you only make it once. (Though I doubt anyone only goes just once!)

We sat outside and got there a few mins before they opened. A line was already forming! It was saturday morning during summer. My wife ordered a cappuccino and it arrived warm but not hot so that was a bummer. She just drank it and didnt complain. They were annoyed that we sat right down but everyone else was grabbing outdoor tables the same way. They want you to check in with the hostess inside first. We had the Big G breakfast and it was very good with tasty cheese on the eggs. This is a very busy place but one of the only places to get breakfast in downtown Bradley Beach. We were shocked that most of the coffee places and restaurants were still closed at after 8am on a weekend. We had to work hard to find a good cup of coffee!

This spot is superb! The staff is extremely friendly and approachable and go out of their way.. I asked for a cup of coffee while we were waiting for a table for breakfast and they were extremely gracious and the coffee was piping hot and delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and the food was outstanding!! The carmelized grapefuit was wonderful and the poached eggs with corned beef hash and asparagus was outstanding and so was the namesake biscuit. The atmosphere is airy and romantic. I cant wait to go back and try the warm crumb cake ...smelled so good! LOVE THIS PLACE!

Only came because of the 4 stars. $35.00 dollars worth of food. You get a bagel nice size then you get meat. Porkroll, dry & over cooked. Sausage egg & cheese. Sausage very think and burnt. You pay 65 cents for cheese and I didnt even ask for extra. So what were looking at here is lots of bread with meat that cant be seen and once you do taste it, you wish you didnt! I hate McDonalds but I rather go there!

Stopped in for a late Monday breakfast. Great people, Superb food and welcoming atmosphere. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. I asked for a black bean burger, no roll & topped with eggs over medium and they accommodated...... the dish was Awesome! I was sat @ the breakfast bar and Brandon was engaged and always helping someone. Dont pass by this local favorite!

Its a very quaint restaurant. Only had to wait about 5 min to be seated. Service was OK. Food was not what I was expecting. I got the biscuits and gravy (southern style). It was not very southern style at all. Coffee was just a regular cup of coffee, nothing special. Prices seem just a tad bit higher than they should be. This wont be my first choice in the future.

Pretty average diner food. Unfortunately (and not to the fault of the restaurant) but its the only traditional diner on Main Street that seemed to be open on the 4th of july causing an unreasonable wait for a jersey diner. The stuffed french toast i had was lack luster because it was lukewarm when it was served. If you dont have to wait in line I recommend it.
