Until tonight we loved our visits to the Holy Grail. My husband found a hair (a very long one) half way into the cole slaw from my fish n chips. We know it wasnt mine because as soon as the waitress brought my dish I immediately removed the slaw as always to give it to him. It wasnt the finding of the hair that was a disgusting unfortunate incident..it was the fact that even though it was acknowleged and the female manager came over...we were told that there arent any females in the kitchen so its odd you found a hair. Then the manager also says "I brought it out and was the only girl around it..not saying it couldnt have happened etc. Then she says nicely, "what can we do for you? Dessert? Another round?" Of course our response was no thanks..since my husband almost lost the half of his meal he ate when it happened and I did as well just watching him pull the hair out (GAG). Take some customer service advice from 2 people who not only used to be in the restaurant industry but also frequent going out to dine....dont ask your customers what you can do. Offer to comp the food that you now feel sick about and in addition to that give them an offer or free app to return! Seriously..do you expect us to sit there and have to TELL you what we need after an unfortunate finding in your food? Are you trying to say we are lying about the hair? Im sorry but with the turnover you have there Im sure you could have done better than comping the sandwich (cheaper) instead of the fish that came with the slaw.. whatever holy grail..you lost some great customers tonight. Wish you would have redeemed yourselves a bit. I guess I should have complained last week when I got a walnut shell in my salad and nearly broke my tooth... then we would have seen the true colors. Bottom line...treat your customers the way you would want if you went out to eat and had the same experience.

Yesterday was our third (and possibly final) visit to the Holy Grail. Our first experience was the best, just flat soda and a hard piece of something in the burger. We were less enthusiastic about our second visit. Again, more flat soda (both times the waitress did rectify). The fish and chips were so-so, not as good as the first visit. We had ordered the sweet potato waffle fries and they came out stone cold! The waitress brought out a new fresh order, much better, but closer to dessert time. Yesterday, our dinners were extremely delayed (and there are no rolls or anything to munch on while you wait). This time it was my turn to order the famous fish and chips. When the plate arrived, the piece of lettuce garnish was terribly wilted (not that I would eat that, but it was an omen for sure). The french fries were lukewarm at best, and tasted like stale potatoes (considering the dish is called "fish and chips", I expected more.) The fish batter was extremely soggy (nasty soggy) as if the plate had been stored under a steam lid before being brought to the table. The waitress brought out more fries, which were equally as bland as the first, but I passively gagged the fish down because at that point I was starving and didnt want to wait another half hour. The good news is that yesterday my soda wasnt flat! So, maybe theyre learning something after all!

We have tried to get in on two different dates. I tried to make reservations, they do not take them. We called ahead and told them 5 adults 1 highchair. They told us 30 minutes. We gave them our name being 3 minutes up the road, and headed over.We arrived to be told yes 30 minutes. they had written our name down and gave us the buzzer. My husband and I went to the bar while the others opted to wait outside for a while due to the lack of waiting space. We had 2 drinks and still no buzzer going off.45 min. later we checked on the wait again. This time we where told they where not sure how long, tables of 6 are difficult to fit,and they had to seat reservations first. Well I did call was told they dont take reservations but since we where 3 mins away they would take our name. Now we have to wait for people with reservations to be sat. When we where told no reservations. So at this point she told us it could be up to an hour.Sorry they need to get their acts together. Yes the building is nice, but No Food is worth that wait. We ended up going to Tellys up the Rd. Waited 5 min. for our table and had a great meal!.. Once maybe twice NOOO. We will never go back!

What a great place to go! Loved the food and the atmosphere. The decor and mural are amazing. My friends and I had a gift certificate so we figured wed try it out. It was a Fri. night. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and were told there was a wait so we put our names in and headed to the bar. We were impressed with the amount of beers they have on tap and the variety of bottled beers to choose from. It was busy and the crowd was lively so we didnt mind the 20 minute wait. We were seated and met our server who was very nice and friendly. We chose the collection plate, guinness tips, corned beef dinner and fish and chips. everything came to our table in a timely manner, was cooked perfectly and HOT. After we ate we ended up staying for the live music which was great. Overall, we had a good experience and will def. recommend it to our friends and return to soon.

Sunday 9/28/14 a group of us went to the Grail for a late lunch. Not one of us were happy with our meals. Two of us had bangers and mash it was so salty when we mentioned it to our server Brenda she said thats what everyone says. Then why did you let me order it. One person got the boiled dinner she said it tasted like the corn beef was an after thought because there wasnt any flavor. The other two in our party got a seafood medly she said it was alright the other person had a macaroni dish and he did not finish it. All in all the drinks were great and the appetizers were very good, but dinner never again. The bangers dish could give someone with a heart condition a heart attack.

Was really excited to try this place but ended up hating it. We got there and put our name in for 8. Our buzzer went off and only 6 out 8 people were there. They said that their policy was that all of the guest had to be there. So after waiting a half hour for a table they gave it to someone else. Because two people out of the party werent there yet. The manager came over and talked down to us as if we were five years old. And said if we didnt like their policy, go somewhere else. We should have walked out then but didnt. the food was cold and undercooked. Terrible policys, cold food, and rude employees.
