Stages has great promise and we loved the concept, but the bottom line is that we stayed for over 2 hours, had a 4 course meal, and then had to go to Wendys to get cheeseburgers and fries because we were still so hungry. The atmosphere, drinks, and flavor of the food are all great. But, the portions are so small you barely even get the flavor of what you are eating and the food comes way too slowly. I hope Stages survives because it could be a great destination restaurant, but until they fix the portion sizing and pacing we wont be back. After spending two hours at a restaurant, I shouldnt be hungrier then when I arrived...

Please please please do NOT go to this so called restaurant. This was the most expensive and worst experience in my 62 years of life. It took literally four hours from start to finish. The micro portions did nothing for our appetite other than making us more hungry. Some of the food was unique and tasteful but others were disgusting. There were seven in our party and we all agreed how bad it was. The bill was $700 in Dover NH. The other reviewers must have personal connections to the restaurant because their reviews are opposite from realty.

Stages is the most interesting restaurant in New Hampshire. Its hidden away on the third floor of an old mill in Dover. Diners sit in the kitchen. There are only eight seats so you get the experience of having a private chef. The menu varies from day to day depending on whats available from local farmers, fisherman and foragers. This is a restaurant for foodies, its highly innovative, you never know what will be on the menu and chances are it wont be familiar to you, but it will be excellent.

Had an amazing experience with my wife during one of their themed dinners. 10 courses with the kind of quality you expect at a 5 star restaurant in a major city. Amazingly observant service as well. Will go again.

The service and the food here is something you usually only find in the big cities. Top notch and a truly memorable experience. Its very expensive but worth every penny.

Each course was beautifully presented and the story behind the ingredients made it all feel very special. The portions are small so plan accordingly.

Nothing like it in the area. Great food, great service. Do your taste buds a favor and stop by for an 8 course delight.

Intimate, dark, great service, a high level of gastronomy found nowhere else on the Seacoast.
