My husband and I were with a party of 14 on 4/16/16 at the Hibachi table to celebrate a friends birthday. Our reservation for 6pm, 6 of us were early so we stopped at the bar to grab our first drink and wait for the others, Jason came and said we needed to have a seat at our table but we didnt want to start without our party and we were still early so we waited, he then said "you no sit, we use table, too late" and proceeded to seat guests in our original spot we had reserved and mind you it was not even at our reservation time yet. Our party arrives and we go sit, now we are last in the Hibachi table, and will be last to have a cook come over. Takes 20 minutes to even get all of our drinks on the table, we get our soup, then salad, while everyone is enjoying the soup the wait staff is coming around grabbing the soup bowls half full or not. Never did they ask if we were finished? We let that go, then finally we get our chef over and we go through the show etc, we then eat, and again while everyone is clearly still enjoying their meal Jason comes and grabs plates of people still eating saying he needs to box them up for us, rushing us to either finish eating or take it home but clearly staying to enjoy it was not okay. Meanwhile we never were offered a chance for a second round of drinks and 14 of 16 were drinking alcohol which could have made a lot more money, but instead we were rushed. When we packed up to go, one of our party members spoke to Jason and politely said it would be nice if the staff all learned some manners, in return got a laugh in his face? I dont think this is a way to get return customers, and I can assure you, none of our party will be joining you "tomorrow"

The last time i went to Ikko was December 2015 and had a very bad experience. The hibachi areas are designed to have 8 customers per side, with the chef areas back to back. The one side had 8 people with a chef. We were a party of 4, and were seated in a hibachi area with no chef, but could only see the back of a chef cooking for the 8 other customers. I asked to speak with a manager about being moving to a different area and his response was that this is the best they could do, even though my reservations were made way ahead of time. The whole point of the meal is to watch the chef cook and entertain, not see their back while cooking for others. I explained to the manager that i was not very happy with spending money on a expensive meal without the full purpose of the dining experience. He didnt seem to care at all. I swore i would never go back again. However, friends of mine wanted to make reservations for tomorrow night, and im apprehensive, but going to give it one more chance. i hope this time will be better because it sure cant be worse!!

Im very picky about sushi; Im from Japan so its pretty difficult to find what I would consider an authentic Japanese restaurant let alone decent sushi. I was very surprised how good the sushi was here. Sake in Portsmouth is okay; its a hit or a miss. But this was probably one of the best Ive had in the state so far. Also on Sundays you can eat A LOT of sushi for $10. You can get six rolls for $2 which is an amazing deal. They also have hibachi as well if you prefer that type of dining. Now Ive had their tempura and they are VERY fresh and cooked just right. Display is done well and they give you a lot more for the price than Sake as much as I love their food for few dishes and atmosphere. Miso soup was surprisingly tasty as well. The staff of course gets a 5-star. Everyone was very polite and professional. Fun atmosphere and highly recommend for all ages including families. Its a very open area with the bar area in the front.

The food was pretty good but we went there for lunch to get the best deal as in the menus it states 11~3pm for lunch habchi is about half the price as dinner. We were there at one oclock but apparently on Sundays they treat everything like dinner, despite that not being started anywhere on the menu or restaurant. I learned from my waiter Id be paying twice the amount I expected. Dont advertise a lower price with guidelines if you arent also going to post those guidelines. While the food was good I doubt I will return, there are other similar restaurants in the area with the same quality that are more honest with their customers. When you start a meal feeling cheated, you cant really enjoy it. Disappointing experience, would not recommend

Went there for the hibachi for my birthday. The tables are big, so theres plenty of elbow room, and lots of tables to accommodate guests. The atmosphere is dark and clubby, yet still Japanese themed. The drinks were AMAZING (had a Bahamamama), and the food was some of the best I ever had. They put on a much better show than Koto restaurants do, and they even played some practical jokes. I laughed, I got a good buzz going, had Chicken&shrimp, and some samplers of chicken, shrimp, steak, scallops, their sushi, and was fully entertained overall. Id call it the best in NH by far, and Ive been to A LOT of places all over the country (PA, VT, NYC, NH, ME, RI, CT, CO, FL, and more)

I went there for lunch ...the food was good but the waitress tried to take away my food three times ! So, the first time, I plainly told her I was not done with the soup or salad and that I was eating them with my lunch. The third time , she apparently did not like the fact that I was eating that with my lunch andshe took both !! How tacky is that I didnt know that was a time limit on eating food. !!! Frankly, this is ridiculous., not to mention rude.!!! If I do go back Im going to just be very plain with her and let her know that when Im done Ill let her now instead of her telling me when Im done eating......( why doesnt she pay the bill while shes at it?)!!!!

Staff was all very friendly but wow, what a disappointing experience...they meant well but Definately need some changes. Steak and scallops so incredibly overcooked. My son sat at the hibachi table and watched a boy be given a balloon sword and nothing for him. They knew it was my daughters birthday so they came out with ice cream....when she wasnt even at the table. It sat there melting for five minutes. Very friendly staff, they meant well but Definately need improvements on their delivery

Ikko has a great dining experience. I think the Hibachi cooks do a good job of involving the groups they cook for. You can also dine non-hibachi/ regular dining, if you prefer. There is sometimes a bit of a wait to get the hibachi food cooking, but its mostly dependent on the availability of the cooks. My moms boyfriend had never experienced hibachi and he said that the duck was one of the top 5 meals hed ever eaten and he really enjoyed the experience.
