What a great meal. I live around the corner and was a little skeptical to try a new place, let alone a sushi restaurant in a strip mall. From the moment I walked in to this small restaurant, and was greeted by friendly wait staff, and an amazing ambiance to the place. Immediately given a warm towel, and a very classy table setup. No wait at 845pm on a Thursday. I ordered 5 different types of sushi to feel the place out. The sushi was great! Quality is on par to Sugarfish, no doubt, and that is where I set the bar for good sushi. No doubt that each sushi place has its own type of vibe (fast, cheap, vs. great experience and super fresh food), but this is up there with one of the best. Im so happy that I live only 3 blocks from here and will be back. Miyuko, our server was super attentive and very great throughout the whole experience. She pointed us to the Bluefin O-Toro and she was right!!! Come give these guys a try!ZEN Japanese Grill & Sushi Bar is best.

I had the yaki ramen, the noodles were good, not over cooked, but past that, it was bland, not enough vegtables, i asked for nori flakes, and waitress didnt know what i was talking about. I had to use the house table soy to give it some extra flavor, wich is never a good sign. They were open untill 10:00 wich is why i ended up here. I wont be back. My husband had the miso sea bass and he gave that dish 3 out of 5 stars.

The food was great, and prepared very quickly during my visit. All of the food was well prepared and had great flavor for a price that was a little lower than youd expect from a Japanese restaurant in the middle of Boston. Being located about a half a block up Beacon Street from the Omni Parker House was also a plus. It made for a great dinner within easy walking distance from our hotel.

Delicious sushi for a decent price. But the service is terrible. We ordered edamame pretty early on in the dinner and the waiter forgot to bring it entirely. I love some good sushi, and this place does not disappoint. Right near the USC campus, ZEN Japanese Grill & Sushi Bar always is quick and edible!!

My go to sushi place when I lived in Boston. Its really easy to get a full, delicious meal for under $10 here, and I dont think I ever waited more than 5 minutes for a table (Ive come with parties sizes ranging from 2 to 6). The staff is always friendly, and bottom line is their sushi is incredible.

I work next door to them, so my colleagues and I eat here a lot. Not only are their noodles and sushi delicious, but they also have great customer service. My take-out was a little delayed, and they apologized with a free roll. It was unnecessary but much appreciated. They are the best!

Fast service, fresh food, great place for lunch. I like to get the lunch special boxes with sushi or teriyaki chicken. There is a small patio to sit outside and if you are by yourself the sushi bar is a good place to sit. Nice and quiet, great for a quick lunch.

The service was brilliant. Lovely friendly people and very helpful. The food was beautiful. We ordered the teriyaki chicken which was so fresh and sushi rolls which my teenage fussy boys loved. The prices were very reasonable too.

I came into the restaurant with pretty high hopes, but the fish quality was bad and the sushi itself was poorly prepared. I gave it two stars and not one because the miso soup was pretty good and the waiters were quick and kind.

Greatest Japanese food ever. Sushi was awesome, fried rice, lunch combo set are perfect! It is like my little go to Japanese restaurant for lunch and dinner. They did a great job with delivering the food as well.

I like all the sushi rolls there, but the place is not on the freedom trail but on the hill hidden among the big buildings. Unless they do something fantastic, this place is not gonna last. Too ordinary!

Small place, good food. The sushi was above average and well priced. The gyoza was just ok. The rice bowl we had for dinner was AMAZING! crispy chicken, sticky rice, and the sauce was delicious.

Enjoyed the intimate environment. We sat at the bar and watched the masterful sushi chef, as we talked over cocktails. Wasnt crowded during weekend brunch hour. Definitely will be back.
