HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! THIEVES!!! 1) When we asked for a stronger green tea because ours tasted like water, she said that is the tea and no one else has complained. She said we can order a pot of green tea for more money. 2) Miso soup came out AFTER my meal and only because I asked where it was. 3) We asked for more ginger and for spicy mayo on the side and they charged us for it but never told us it was going to be extra. When we asked why they didnt inform us that it was extra, they said that we should know and that every restaurant charges extra (bull!!) We asked them to take it off the menu and they said no way. My husband said he didnt want to pay for it because of the principle of it all. They said they were going to call 9-1-1...BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

Food was ok. Not sure if its the New England thing but could have used better flavoring. My Teriyaki Chicken was thick and hard and tasted under cooked. I sent it back for more cooking but it came back the same just more sauce which was disappointing and tasted nothing like Teriyaki sauce. The dinner box lacked California rolls which for $26 should have brought some. The Shrimp and vegetable tempura tasted fresh. Rice was ok, shumai, just 3 pieces. Should have given at least 4. I gave it 3 stars out of 5 because the staff was friendly and attentive. I would have liked to taste the sushi but the chicken turned me off.

The hostess made a big fuss when I asked to sit at a small table rather than at the bar, even though it was before noon and there were still plenty of empty seats later when I left. Unappetizingly, the miso soup spoon and the rice bowl smelled like old dish water. The food itself away from the spoon and bowl was pretty good, and the price was reasonable for the area. But man, they have to work on their hospitality and kitchen cleanliness.

No wait when we arrived, we were instantly seated. Even though it wasnt busy it took forever for our waitress to serve us. The food was mediocre at best. It was also very pricey, although they do have all you can eat nights which is probably worth it. I would not go back. If you are looking for good sushi, I recommend Takusan in Brookline or Maki Maki in Woburn, they are both all you can eat and you wont be disappointed.

Sakurabana has been my go-to place for sushi in the Financial District ever since Nara closed its doors. The food is fresh and tasty. The decor is clean and modern, but the tables are a little close for comfort and, yes, the entire restaurant fills up quickly at lunch time. The food is brought out fast, but they can be a little slow closing out your check.

I dont know what kind of service the other reviewers got, but I had a nice decent waiter who did his job just fine. There was a wait involved, but I could see that this place is packed at times so it is obvious one would have to wait. The food itself was excellent. Very fresh and tasty sushi. Bottomline is good sushi, good service, some waiting time.

Sakurabana is a great choice for a lunch restaurant. They have a wonderful selection of sushi and theyve got something for everyone. Today I had the sushi deluxe and was happy about it. The service is good and the atmosphere as well. Portions are not too pricey and good quality for the money. Definitely will be back.

Some of the best sushi I have had! Being Japanese and raised traditional Japanese, I have been groomed to be very picky with my sushi. I took my grandmother, who is very hard to please, to Sakurabana and she loved it! The staff is so friendly, the food is always fresh! What else could you ask for!

Ordered the sashimi master and it was amazing. Well I might be bias toward sushi because I like it. Place is clean, food is nice but the waiter is adamant about her tip being 15-20% and it was like a dollar off ! Seriously ? ONE Dollar off made her ask us for it ! Come on!

Went for dinner on the weekend and decided to go for the all you can eat for $25/person. Not a bad deal considering the cost of individual rolls these days. The sushi was pretty good especially the Spicy Tekka and Spicy Green. Wed go back for sushi again.

The food was delicious. I got a lunch special Maki of Spicy Tuna and Samon Avocado that comes with someone salad and miso soup, and paid only $16 with taxes and tips. The staff was very nice and friendly as well! Great lunch break food!

The dinner box came with many small dishes and was a great option! The foods tasty and authentic too, the servers nice and polite. Although when we visited, the entire restaurant was empty. Its clear that its not a super popular place.

When Im in Boston, this is my go-to Sushi spot. Ive tried just about every sushi restaurant I can find, and Sakurabana is consistently at the top of the list. It always has excellent, fresh seafood and its priced very well.

Sushi lunch specials are a great value here. Its not super fancy, but the food is very good. I like to sit at the sushi bar. Ask to sit upstairs by the windows with views of passers by vs. the basement dining room

Having spent some time in Japan, Im always looking for that taste I lived with. Sakurabana certainly was close to it. I got the oyakodon, something I try everywhere, and I would DEFINITELY eat theirs again.

Decent enough basic Japanese restaurant, just about the only option available in the Financial District. Worth noting they have an all-you-can-eat night on Friday and Saturday.

Solid lunch. Good sushi. Good price. Excellent service. Low key, in and out type of place- not a destination for dinner, but worth going if you are in financial district.
