Yamato offers local sushi lovers a closer option to Providence or Boston when the sushi craving hits. The menu offers plenty of normal options available elsewhere in regards to variety of appetizers, sushi and bento boxes. While pricing may be set at the higher end of a mid-level sushi house the food holds its ground in the mid level in quality. Definitely not bad but not the greatest as compared to places on Boston which we have gone to. Yamato is on par with other 3 star locations meaning great for local flare when the craving hits but not close to big city competition.

Just tried out the new Yamatos in Somerset for hibachi dinner and was very happy with the service, food and atmosphere. We had hibachi steak and shrimp.... everything was cooked perfectly and the portion size was larger than every similar Japanese Steak house type restaurants Ive been to. Prices were reasonable too. Will definitely go back again

Got the spicy maki combo dinner. There was nothing spicy about it. I would describe their sushi similar to the sushi you pick up at the grocery stores... My husband ordered the chicken teriyaki. The sauce did not taste like teriyaki, had a weird after taste. Save your money and go somewhere else for sushi!

Place has definitely gone downhill. Ordered two noodle dishes that had the consistency of microwaved ramen. The rest of the food seemed to be missing a key ingredient called taste. They do get 2 stars, though, because it could have been worse.

I have eaten here twice. A very pleasant and unexpected surprise for the location. Its small but very nice. I have had many of their sushi and always get the Bento Box. I loved eating here both times and look forward to going again.

I have been here a dozen times and the food is always good. Family run restraunt where the parents work hard to please their customers. Love place. Good food, quaint, and not crowded. I highly recommend you eat here

They have so many good rolls, its hard to decide what to get. The special rolls are big, so one roll is a meal. My favorite so far - the Peace Roll with coconut shrimp and mango. I eat here every time Im in town.

This is not a joke. Seriously, this was the worst dining out experience I ever had. The only thing worse than the food was the horrible service. Do yourself a favor and dont even bother.
