I just moved back to springfield after 10 years of living in california. I googled sushi and decided this place would be nice. We sat down orded 3 rolls of sushi one of those was the Miami breeze, my fiance stated that the cream cheese tasted bad i took a bite and it indeed was not up to par. I explained to the waiter what the deal was he took it with 4 rolls left on the plate and we ordered 2 more rolls and after 30 min of waiting the last 2 rolls arrived. I got the bill and the roll that was returned was on my bill, i asked the waiter why this was and he stated that the owner said that the roll was ok and i had the pay for it. I ask to speak to the owner and i the owner told me that HIS WIFE AND HIM ATE THE ROLLS THAT WE RETURNED AND THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM...?????? But i still had to pay for the rolls???? I ask him does it state on the menu that items ordered if not up to standard that the customer has to pay for it he said yes im sorry. I told him that he had 2 options to keep a customer happy and take off a 9$ roll or to lose a 1st time customer and a bill. He called the cops i waited they showed up and after he told them what i said i explained to them that he ate the returned food and that was the way to see if it was bad? The police officer asked that if food is not good to a customer, and there was a complaint that the customer still had to pay for it and on top of that the YOU GUYS ATE THE REST and still are going to charge him 10$ for a roll you ate??? He stated that no restaurant that you go to if you have a problem with food after you order it you cant send it back?? The police stated that i cant make the couple pay for the food, (I stated im paying for the food i ate) the only thing i can do is issue a ticket and you guys can see the judge and i can take them to jail for a 10$ even though you ate the food after they said it was bad........He said fine fine this was after 40Min of talking to the owner and his wife, he said dont ever come back here i paid my 40$ bill gave the waiter his tip shook the police officers hands told them i was sorry that 3 cops had to come out bc of this issue and left..... SORRY THIS IS SOOOOO LONG BUT CUSTOMERS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS PLACE. NOWHERE IS IT STATED ON THE MENUS THAT IF THE FOOD IS BAD IN OUR CASE OR YOU DONT LIKE IT THAT YOU PAY ANYWAY.... AND THE OWNERS ARE THE COOKS?? AND AGAIN INSTEAD OF TASTING THE FOOD OFF THE LINE THEY ATE MY FOOD I RETURNED??? SO NOW HOW CLEAN IS THIS PLACE IF THEY ARE EATING FOOD OFF OF PEOPLES PLATES. ARE THEY REUSING FOOD TO SAVE MONEY SINCE 9$ WAS A HUGE ISSUE. PLEASE PLEASE TAKE YOUR MONEY TO A BETTER PLACE.....

I ate here one day for lunch. It wasnt bad, but wasnt remarkable either. Then about a year and a half later, my wife and I ate here for dinner one Saturday night. We were belittled for not having reservations. This place doesnt even have a website, but we need reservations? As punishment for the lack of reservations, they took 45 minutes to make 2 rolls. Bad service overall, but the rolls were actually quite tasty. It was clear they werent made by a professional, as they were not cut uniformly. Some pieces were tiny while others were so big that I had trouble picking them up with chopsticks. My wife would like to go back, so this review will likely be updated. If you dont mind good food and poor service, this is a good place for you.

For authentic Japanese food and wonderful service, you should consider this place. I would rate it 5 stars, but it is a bit expensive, so we only go a few times per year. I totally think it is worth the price they are charging, I just dont like to pay that much for dining. But the food is excellent. One of the few restaurants I have gone to where every side is fresh and delicious. With cement floors it can be loud if its busy, but the floor to ceiling curtained off booths make for a unique and private dining experience. Over all, an excellent place for a first date or just a quick lunch. Is there ever a bad time to eat delicious food ?

A great restaurant to bring a date (my thirteen year-old daughter said) because the booths feel very intimate and special. She loves any Asian restaurant with chopsticks, and Wayo has them. Stephanie is a self taught user of the utensils.. One s head must bow below the red cloths draped from above and step up to the booths on the raised platform. There is a bigger table in the middle of the floor to accommodate larger families or groups. Our waitress was prompt and courteous and explained the meals we had ordered...no hurry or rushed feeling at this place. I saved it in "My maps."

Ive ate here several times a while ago but finally decided to put a review. Sushi was terrible each time! I got it to go both times and it was very poor quality. The sushi tasted old and made me want to vomit. I did not finish my sushi and I do almost every time. Not to mention the fact that I ordered to go well in advance and still had to wait a decent amount of time. Stay away if youre a sushi lover, youll be sadly disappointed. On a side note, it was decorated very nicely but it did not deliver as I was hoping.

Great food! Friendly and accomodating waiter. Fast service. The presentation of the dishes was awesome! Would love to go again and reccomend to anyone who likes sushi. The fried tempura ice cream is excellent! Not too sweet and lots of different textured elements in the dish to experiment with. The seating was very private with each table having its own surrounding partition wall and translucent privacy curtain. The atmosphere was quiet, cozy, and romantic. Overall an amazing restaurant that was well worth the price!

My husband stopped in here on Christmas day and the sushi was amazing as usual and everyone we go in both owners are working their booties off and are friendlier than all heck... The lady owner is super sweet and very kid friendly! When we brought our 5 month old in there she just loved her and sat us somewhere it would be good with a car seat in addition to this when I had to nurse my daughter she was especially nice and made sure I was comfortable and was encouraging! This place always has great good and service!!!

I ate here on Christmas. I ordered Sushi I picked out the sushi I wanted. I was brought out 2 plates of sushi 2 of every thing I ordered. I let the waitress know I did not order it. She said well we already made it so ill give you 20% off of the plate. I paid and left right away. I found this to be very bad service.. Food wasnt bad at all. Manager should have taken 2nd plate of Sushi back and accepted the mistake. I was forced to pay for it.. Will never be back!!!!!!
