My husband and I LOVE eating here. We mainly go during happy hour and late night happy hour. I love the salmon nigiri and the salmon roe nigiri. The fluke and eel nigiri are also good. During happy hour they offer single piece nigiri for $2-4. During normal hours the nigiri comes in pairs. The pork gyoza appetizer is delicious, and a beef appetizer that is tasty. The spicy crab sushi rolls are perfect. They have just enough tempura to give them a crunch but not overpowering, slightly spicy. We usually like spicy salmon roll at other places but their spicy crab roll is our favorite. $4 during happy hour. I also love the spicy crab nigiri. I can usually only eat one or two because its like being slapped in the mouth with awesome flavor, its fantastic. They have many specialty rolls that are fantastic, we try a new one every time. My husband ordered the chicken fried rice and thought it was delicious, had quite a garlic flavor. Terry is a GREAT server. We dine here about once a week and usually our bill for the two of us is between $20 - $40 (when we are really hungry). They have $3 happy hour beers also. They have karaoke one night a week too, I think on Wednesdays (Im not sure).Late night (after 9:30pm) when we have been there they have dance/techno music playing, which I like because they are songs that are similar to my iPod! They also have sampler platters for groups of people that start at $35 which are a STEAL! More information on the platters are in the restaurant.

The sushi is good but then again I havent had bad sushi in the twin cities yet so there is nothing unique of their rolls in particular but the quality seems at par with other sushi restaurants. My three star review comes from my last visit. I had purchased a coupon voucher book in support of a local high school and Hajime was listed on there but did not honor it because no coupons or vouchers are recognized during happy hour. This information is not listed on the coupon but I was initially told the discount would apply but then it was questioned and I sat there with my fresh takeout for 3-4 minutes only for them to come back and take the discount back. It was a $5 dollar off coupon, not the end of the world but it is more so the principal here and customer service that were disappointing. The person from the restaurant (some level of management I am assuming) who informed me that discounts dont apply during happy-hour did so by showing me a menu from the restaurant (I was there for takeout). It didnt really matter that the happy hour rule was not listed on the coupon or on their website. I didnt want to argue over something as little as a coupon but I was pretty bummed of their attitude and will be trying other sushi establishments in the area before going back.

Hajime (spelled with the じ from the Japanese alphabet) is just fantastic in every way. The atmosphere is modern and personal. My girlfriend and I go here as often as possible, especially between 9pm to midnight for their late night happy hour pricing. Takoyaki, udon, mochi ice cream, you name it, everything is delicious. The sushi bar is our favorite among favorites. Order whatever you want at once or one at a time and prepare to be amazed -- we love the eel and shrimp tempura rolls! By the way, if youve watched anime or J-drama, just about everything youve seen is on the menu. Try it!!

My favorite Sushi place. Everything Ive ordered has been incredibly fresh and tasty. The north shore roll is to die for. All day happy hour on Sunday. What more could I ask for? My only issue that Ive had so far is the service can occasionally be hit or miss. Most times its excellent, but out of the few dozen times Ive been there, Ive had a handful of slow or non existent service (and no, it wasnt busy). Overall though, highly, highly impressed with this place.

Went here for lunch, and the food was wonderful. I had a bento lunch special of chicken teriyaki, which came with soup or salad (the salad was great!), and in the box was a nice portion of rice, chicken, veggies, as well as 3 crispy shumai and 4 california roll pieces. My husband had pan-fried seafood udon noodles which he loved. So happy to find a great Japanese restaurant locally, and the prices are very reasonable! The service was also really good.

Be sure to check out their happy hour sushi and drinks starting at 3:00 pm and from 9:00 pm to close. This is a better than average American sushi spot. The vibe/decor is very modern/cool. I usually run into Japanese people eating here which to me is usually one of the best indications that its a good sushi spot. Fair prices, good rolls. No complaints! If they have the uni shooter available, DO IT! Well worth the experience.

My wife and I love this place. Weve been to a few other excellent sushi restaurants in the metro area but this place stands out with a great selection of rolls, cheaper prices and friendly staff. Weve tried nearly all the rolls and I dont think there is a single one we havent enjoyed. The restaurant has very pleasing decor and comfortable seating. Highly recommend anyone in the area that loves sushi give this place a try.

I personally think they have the best sushi in MN. Im a sushi fanatic and have gone to many places but I always prefer Hajime. Even if you dont like sushi, they have great regular food as well! Their fried rice is the best fried rice Ive ever had!! The staff are friendly and the prices are great, especially during happy hour. I go twice, maybe even three times a week sometimes and I have never had a bad experience.

We had 3 of their speciality rolls and the chicken fried rice ( also the best rice we have ever had). If you are thinking about trying this place do it, youd be crazy not to!!!! This is absolutely the freshest sushi around! We eat there about 3 or 4 times a month. We have brought many clients and friends there and they all love it - even the skeptics! I love the tuna sushi and my wife loves the Sweet and Sassy roll. The fried rice is unmatched!! The staff is welcoming and friendly and go out of their way to give you the best service around! HIGHLY recommended!

High quality sushi at an affordable price. We always come during the happy hour at which they offer $2.50 Sapporos and discounted specialty rolls. The restaurant itself is clean and has a modern ambiance. Great service each time. Recommendations: Crunchy, No.9, White Tiger, Volcano, Kiss of Fire, Dragon, & Spicy Tuna
