Wow where do i start....? My family an I went here on a Tuesday afternoon shortly after my moms passing to honor one of her favorite restaurants. So we walk in "its dead as can be" pretty much nobody in there. The host greets us and ask what we will be having? Sushi? Dine-in? or Hibachi? We reply 5 out of the 8 of use will be eating hibachi the rest will do sushi. The host said "oh sorry for hibachi everybody has to be eating it".....? My jaw just about dropped. i thought to myself really your going to jeopardize about $200 worth of business just be cause a few people out of our party doesnt want hibachi. So we decide to go to the one in Bloomington, MN which weve never had an issue with ( they are incredible over there "Different owners") Anyways as we walk out of the restaurant the host and manager literally come outside and basically are begging us to come back in. Which made us all feel very awkward. I get into my Aunts Porsche which Im sure made them feel even more stupid. we have been great customers for years been going to Osaka sense my 12th birthday. Im not sure when it started to go down hill. So i decided to give them another chance just because i did usually enjoy this place, but i go in there and its only me. I just got off work i show up in my business suit. Ask for a table for hibachi and they say No only parties of two can do hibachi...? I just turned around walked out and went to Bloomington, Where i got seated immediately and spent about $35 there loss i guess. Long story short I highly recommended going to the Bloomington Osaka WAY better customer service.

I made a reservation for my husbands birthday dinner for 8 people (1 hibachi table). We all arrived and checked in for our reservation on time. We were told there were still 4 tables ahead of us, and that we would have to wait. They were unable to give me any estimation on how long that wait would be beyond "minimum of 20 mins". I understand that things happen and things run late sometimes, but when I checked in again after 20 minutes, the hostess rudely tells me that there are still tables ahead of us and that she has no way of knowing how long it will be, and we see people without reservations getting sat before us, our entire group is getting upset. AN HOUR after our reservation (and after multiple tables without reservations being sat), we asked to see the manager. The manager did not apologize, but did seat us. 10 more minutes went by with no server coming to the table. Then some edamame showed up, that we didnt order. Another 5 minutes, still no server. Our entire party walked out. On the way out, a server asked if there was something wrong. I again explained that we waited AN HOUR PAST OUR RESERVATION to even be sat, then waited another 15 minutes and never had a server come by. Another group that had also been waiting over an hour past their reservation overheard this and stated his frustration as well. No one on staff even apologized for the horrible night. We will never be back to this place and our entire party is spreading the word of our terrible experience here.

I went to osaka last night and order the deal for 2 chicken steak and shrimp. The waiter took down the wrong order and while he was cooking i notice he wasnt cooking chicken I then asked what he got down for me and my girl friend. he had my order all wrong all I wanted was my right food and they wouldnt give me it because he said I didnt order it? Isnt the costumer always right. Me and the lady started to get into it then she put her hands on me and tried to push me down in to my chair in front of a large group of people what kind of service is that im spending over a 100 dollars and your workers are putting there hands on me? PLEASE EVERYONE ADVOID APPLE VALLEY OSAKA THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!!! P.S get workers that can speak english this isnt japan more english speaking folks come into your restaurant and can barely get there order right because every waiter asks you can you repeat your order 7 times its a joke!!

Well thought it would be a good time with the reviews being pretty good. We decided on Hibatchi. We were sat before our reservation time, but then the table they sat us at had 2 more to their party coming. So we were moved to another table. I had no problem with that at all. Im sure people would have. We had to wait a few minutes before the other parties arrived at our grill area but while we were waiting they had drink orders in fast. Then (as Ive read before) we were given a free appetizer for the confusion. Again, they sat us early so we were ok with it as it was. It was amazing sushi! We did forget to ask what kind it was for future refference. All the service was great, food was great, sake was great. Even had one of the members from the table we were kicked out from buy us drinks. We had an amazing time and will definitely be coming back

Well, their food isnt bad if you like raw fish. However you can barely understand them because their English is so broken. I remember we were trying to order a drink and it took forever because they didnt understand until 5 minutes later. I wouldnt say they are friendly at all either, unless your in the hibachi. However even then they dont really talk to you. Their prices can be completely ridiculous too and I can personally feel negative energy in this place. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. So overall bad prices, bad energy, unfriendly people who dont even barely speak English, just do yourself a favor an find somewhere else. I suppose the only two good things about this place is that the food is good like I saw if you like raw fish, and the restaurant -from the inside looks very nice.

The owner at Osaka is very rude, poor English. I made a reservation for our family dinner for 15 people at hibachi grill. Once we arrived and checked in on time, we were told that we needed to wait for a few minutes to set it up the table. As 10 ... 20 minutes went by we were still waiting and we saw people walked in without reservations getting sat before us. That was ridiculous. The server is bad, the waitress barely speaks English. Everyone please never ever comes to this restaurant. It isnt Japanese restaurant, the owner is Chinese, their meals are very expensive. On the other hand, I have a friend who worked at this restaurant, the owner who names Angela/Anna is very rude, poor English, poor management, sloppy trainer, and shady their employees.

They deserve 5 stars. 1.) The food is great, sushi has quality (not Wakame quality but this place is good) Come here when its happy hour its worth a try. 2.)You are not a bother to them. They just want to serve you and have you enjoy your meal/time. 3.) It is meant to be a fun environment so expect a birthday song to come on multiple times because people love to celebrate their birthday dinners here (I do too!). 4.) Do NOT plan to come on the weekend, its way too chaotic for anyone to handle. (Dont blame the host either, they cant do much). Come on a weekday for lunch/dinner and youll enjoy yourself. They have way better service than any other Osaka Steakhouse I have been. (Ive been to all)
