This is the best place to get sushi in Springfield MO. They also have great more traditional Japanese chicken and beef plates that are also delicious. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about what they are serving, and the sushi here is the best in town! So I may have already said that, but they have rolls with no raw fish, traditional americanized sushi, traditional Japanese nigiri, and sashimi, and then some deep fried rolls, some server in wooden boat, some served on fire, and of course the traditional stuff. Seriously, the best sushi in town. The interior is done up to look like what you might imagine a village in classical Japan might have looked like. The atmosphere is awesome and beautiful, and even when its crowded, its still quiet enough inside to comfortably have a conversation with friends or family or even on a nice date. It is cozy and nice enough to take someone on a date, affordable enough that it can be an impressive first date, and nice enough to be a good date night for long term couples. This place seriously is one of the best places to eat in town. Solid 5 stars no way around it. Try Sakura, even just one time, you will love it.

This place used to be awesome, but I am absolutely horrified by it now. I went in for a friends birthday dinner and we were one of two tables in the place. Before we even got our food I was suspicious because of the unclean bathroom, but what happened when we got out food appalled us. We got 3 rolls and a bento dinner special. The plate our rolls were served on was gross and actually had a dried bits of sause and Wasabi on it and was obviously unclean. The bento tray was also disgusting and again obviously uncleaned. The worst part of the entire experience was when I went to the restroom after I alerted our server that our plates were unclean. She told her boss(owner?) that it was dirty and she agreed with that but then she came out and tried to bargain with me on it and make excuses for it. I would not have been angry if they didnt expect me to pay full price and also lie to me about how it happened.

Almost a perfect 5 stars. I had the chicken katsu and 4 piece nigiri meal that came with a scoop of rice, a spring roll, miso soup, garnishes, and a free scoop of red bean ice cream [red bean or strawberry]. The chicken katsu was the highlight of the meal, and the sides were great as well. The Nigiri came with too little rice that was densely packed and had little flavor. The quality of the Red snapper, Salmon, and Lean Tuna was very high. The fourth piece, white tuna, was not quite as good as I have had before and had too strong of a fishy flavor. I will be going back again this weekend, but now I know to not get nigiri.

I used to eat here all the time, but since management changed it has continuously downgraded its experience and upped its price. I came on valentines day and half the menu was gone, and they said it was due to all the specials. Your not supposed to remove items on special days if anything add items. I ordered chicken teriyaki because I assumed since this is served at almost every asian restaurant they would be able to get it right(they messed up my order last time) they were there to perfectly prove me wrong. When the chicken got to my table it was cold.

I give these guys 5 stars based on a balance of friendly staff, quality sushi, price, and location. If this were in California, I might only give them 3-4 stars, but here in the Midwest, the value for the quality is hard to beat. It will certainly be delicious sushi. Will it be the very best master sushi youve ever tried? If you have spoiled tastes you might be disappointed. If you like fresh fish and a relaxed friendly atmosphere at a decent price, youll be quite pleased. This is one of my familys favorites.

My go to place for sushi- fire rolls are amazing! Place is clean and service is great. Your greeted with everyone saying welcone in Japanese. Tried lots of their dishes and as an executive chef I can truly say, you will not be disappointed - my wife loves their tofu and vegetables with yaki Saba and my son loves their stone bowl steak and not to forget the best shrimp fried rice I have had in Springfield - the cost is comparable to what you get in excellent food and service.

Excellent Place! Being raised eating mostly Japanese cuisine all of my life, it was hard finding delicious Japanese food just like my grandmother made. As well as coming here from NYC, where you can find a few great Japanese/sushi bar restaurants. My 8 and 9 yr old daughters and I go to Sakura every chance we get! They love it as well! The customer service is amazing, as well as the food and environment/ambiance. I always tip well when I go because I am so impressed!

It was slow on a Thursday when I popped in. I had the seaweed salad wasabi tobiko and a few roles while flying solo on a biz trip. They accommodated my shellfish allergy, where friendly and offered a free sample, free miso, and free ice cream. Low cost and the best am fried Saskatoon skin roll Ive ever had. The rest was also fresh. Diverse severs as well which is nice to see. (Mexican Japanese and Caucasian). I would highly recommend.

I really liked the sushi, and loved that they kept giving us free samples of things. I did not like the actual entrée, and it did not say I got noodles with my meal it said rice and vegetables,so I ordered a side of noodles which was $5 for my daughter. When my meal came it had noodles so I paid $5 for a side, that if they posted I got I wouldnt have ordered. They were nice and if Im in the more for just sushi I would return.

Food was OKAY, tiny sushi pieces that are overly priced! Table was sticky, waitress sucked, didnt even check up on us nor refill the small amount of ginger they gave us. Definitlely not worth the $41! Sushi was overkilled with Yum Yum sauce, all you can taste was the sauce. Rice was way to sticky! If you are looking for authethic sushi, go to Kobes down the street! DO NOT WATSE YOUR TIME HERE!

Service was absolutely amazing! My boyfriend and I went there and got Sushi. It was DELICIOUS. So fresh. And they gave us a sample of one of their sushi rolls as soon as we sat down. After ordering they offered us both soup and after the meal ice cream all on the house! Weve already decided well coming here every time were in Springfield. Wonderful!

Good food and good atmosphere. Been living in Indianapolis almost 20 years and not heard of this place. Glad I found it on TripAdvisor. Its locally owned and operated, on 3rd generation ownership (per my conversation with our friendly waitress). Great Italian food and reasonably priced. Great for a date night or even a family outing!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I usually get the teriyaki bento box which is a great value if you take advantage of the lunch special during weekdays until 2:30. The food and the sushi is absolutely delicious every time Ive been. They also have free ice cream! The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff is always pleasant.
