I must say this place caught me off guard. The location of this restaurant is very misleading. It is tucked away right off Wornall Rd. Dont let the area deceive you, once you walk into the restaurant all is changed. The inside is very clean and decorated. Its actually a very pretty restaurant on the inside. The staff there are very nice and courteous. I dont really remember the exact time we went, but the place was dead. Now that I think about it, it was probably just before 6pm when we came. I dont know how their business is at any other time of day, but at that moment their might have been one other family in the restaurant. It was really, really quiet. The food however, was exceptional, especially for a chinese restaurant. It could almost be the best chinese food Ive ever had. Thats how good it was. The portions are large enough for two. So dont feel like you have to eat it all because it is a lot of food. This is a great Chinese restaurant to check out for sure.

So I am not a KC native but I have lived here for over 2 years and one thing I have discovered is there is no good Chinese restaurants in KC (at least that I have had). If this is one of the most highly rated Chinese restaurants then I am not hopeful that I will find good Chinese. The service of the restaurant is great and friendly. They make you feel like guests in their home. The restaurant is nicely decorated (but could use a little cleaning and touch up). The food is my least favorite that I have had in KC. Got the sweet and sour chicken, General tops chicken. The chicken breading was done fresh but the breading was soggie and the sauces did not have good flavor. The pork fried rice had large strips of pork that were kind of chewy. The rice had almost no flavor or soy sauce with the color of brown rice. I feel bad leaving a low review based on the service and environment but the food is just not good.

Absolutely love this restaruant. Non-descript on the outside, beautiful artwork and tantalizing smells on the inside. The Triple Delight is just on this side of heaven. Open Christmas and New Years. No bad food at Princess Garden. A block from Tassos Greek Restaurant on right hands side. Its a plain white building in the middle of a parking lot. But dont be deceived, go on inside to some of the best food this side of Shanghai. Im from New York, born and bred in China Town, Princess Garden can hold their own against any New York restarant, Pos Dumpling or any other famous restaurants around here. You need reservation Christmas day, dont forget and try to get a table on a holiday.

Delicious food, fantastic service. The restaurant has been owned and operated by the same family for at least 30 years, and they themselves take care of their dining customers. My familys been coming here since before I was born, and though weve only been able to make it out around once a year or so lately, the owners always remember us. If you are looking for Chinese food in KC or just a great dining experience in general, look no further. Ive only ever seen other customers leaving happy and satisfied, and I look forward to this food every time Im back home.

Weve been eating here for just about 5 years ever since our real estate agent who was previously from the area took us here when we were looking for houses in the area. Weve been addicted ever since. We love the spicy chicken lo mein and get it to go with some crab rangoon and have movie night at home. Or if were out and about we stop in and have dinner in their dinning room. It is a great atmosphere and the service cannot be beat! The decor makes the place feel like youre stepping into a whole other world. One of the best weve ever been to!

Friendly, fresh food, and a beautiful environment. Staff will remember you from previous visits, and once even stayed late when we walked in at 2 minutes after close (we were not the only ones still there, but they didnt have to). My only complaint is that the dishes are a little variable... order the same thing twice in a row and it will come out with slightly different ingredients each time. Not much of a complaint since its always delicious, but maybe be troublesome to people with particular allergies.

We have visited Princess Garden regularly since 1978, when we moved to KC from St. Louis. For consistency in exquisite food, great service and warm atmosphere, there is no better restaurant in Kansas City. Our favorite is the Mongolian Beef, but weve tried nearly every item on the menu, and no matter which dish you choose, they are ALL worth the trip. Our favorite feature - the smiles everywhere when we arrive. They are family, and they are the best. -- Jim & Marcia

Horrible!!! the appetizer plate was horrible and the fried rice. I bit into the egg roll and nothing but grease, yuk. the rib looked and tasted old.. i also had a taste of the yang zhou fried rice, can you say box of grease, didnt taste that good, first bite of the rice had cooked chicken fat, not a clean eat like i would get at bo lings especailly for the price, i paid like 18 bucks. will never eat there again. im sticking with Bo Lings

Im not the type to leave a negative review but I had a terrible experience here despite the good reviews. The food is the main reason for this 1 star, both mine and my GF plate came noticably undercooked and taste really bad. Rice tasted like shredded paper. When I mentioned it to our server she didnt seem to care so I was disappointed despite this place being recommended. I wouldnt say dont try it but please check your food if you go!

The food is always fresh and the owners and staff are prompt, curteous and know how to run a business. Ive always been extremely leary of Chinese food but this place is great and I dont have to question what Im consuming. If youre looking for an amazing vegetable dish, I would highly suggest the snow peas and broccoli...and I always add mushrooms. The sauce is amazing and its my favorite!

If youve been in business for 40 years as a restaurant, youre doing a lot of things right. The food here is delicious, portions are large, prices are fair, and service and ownership is incredibly friendly and genuine. This is the type of place that I not only enjoy eating at, but really hope that they continue to be successful. I highly recommend Princess Garden.

Apparently my order contained an unusually high quantity of msg which resulted in a fairly severe allergic reaction, which was unprecedented in my medical history. On the plus side, the food was tasty. And the staff were very friendly. So, while I wont be able to eat there, if you dont have a sensitivity to msg, you may very well enjoy the food.

Seriously THE BEST Chinese I have EVER had in the Kc area. Oddly enough to say from the appearance outside. This is seriously some of the best Chinese food. Impeccable service as well. So prompt and sweet. They also do kosher once a month (I didnt participate) but thats awesome they appreciate other cultures. 100% in my book.
