Okay, let get real. Did you ever eat in the American Chinese Restaurants from the late 1950s and early 1960s? If you did, this is a throwback to that era. So the short history review. The place is fantastic, time has stood still for this 54 to 64 seat restaurant. The Chinese food is straight out of the past (American Chinese) and for that time period, it was tasty, wonderful and delicious. So is this restaurant if you look back in time. the place was packed for lunch, all seats filled, parking lot was filled. The serving plate which looks like a sliver flying saucer on a pedestal, and you take off the top, voila!!!, there is the food. I havent seen a serving dish like that in over a quarter of a century if not over half a century. How do I know this is a throwback, because my Dad owned and operated a Chinese American restaurant back in the late 50s an early 60s, and I worked at my dads restaurant in to my teen years. This restaurant is a living breathing replica of my Dads place. The only thing different is my Dads menu was more extensive. It included: turkey dinner, minute steak, french fries, roast chicken as well as "Chinese Food" Thumbs up for a piece of Chinese Americana History. Dont expect todays Chinese food in yesterdays venue.

Wow, just wow. Places looks like it is home to generations of cockroaches and bedbugs. The food. Hot and sour soup was the worst Ive ever had, ever. The soup had been cooked so long that it was like a soft jello that bubbled over the spoon, a slow syrup drip. It was awful tasting. My wife and i had a few spoons and we pushed it away. And we were both starving. We ordered the family deluxe. They brought us a platter that was on fire. The fire didnt go out for 20 minutes and not once did we use it. Everything on the broken wooden platter was deep fried or overcooked already. Bland bland bland. Crab rangoon tasted like they just threw in cream cheese. Egg roles tasted like they were frozen and had zero flavor or meat in them. Beef sticks were so small and dry i thought they were beef jerky. The red ribs were flavorless. And they placed 2 very small deep fried triangles which turned out to be overly fried dough, donuts? Fried dough..... mmmmm..... Entrees came out. Broccoli beef. Broccoli was uncooked. Stems were solid. Toa chicken had no flavor and over fried. Worst Chinese Ive ever had. Locals love it, not sure why. Its disgusting food. If you want to spend 60 bucks go to Zens. Dont be a fool.

It was dark when we entered. But I saw all the rewards on the wall and decided not to judge. We sat down and looked at the menu. It was 1:45 when we got there. When the lady came to take our drink order I asked her if we could still get the lunch special or if we hit the end tail and she said no it was ok. A different lady came and took our food order. She came back a bit later and told me we couldnt have friend rice with our meal it was after 2pm. They brought my 8yr son a plate with open fire on it. The egg drop soup was DARK YELLOW the sweet and sour chicken was actually fried chicken with red sauce pored on top with carrots. It was just nasty. I love Chinese food. I have never left leftovers before. My husband didnt touch his plate, the chicken lo mein wasnt touched and we left it all. What a waste of $60 bucks.

I travel for a living and Im in a different town every night. I eat in many Chinese restaurants in a 5-state region. I ordered hot and sour soup, 2 eggrolls and chicken with garlic sauce. The soup was disgusting. It was dark and bitter and tasted like molasses and creosote. The eggrolls were full of gristle and fat and were not fit to eat. I should have departed at this point. The chicken in the chicken with garlic sauce didnt look right; it appeared undercooked. One bite confirmed my suspicions. It had the consistency of rubber. I told the manager every bit of food placed on my table was inedible and it was the worst food I have tried to eat in many years. He just looked perplexed and pointed to the door. This place should be condemned.

Giving the service 5 stars, these girls are fast and effiecient! The hot and spicy soup was the best, much better than Mongolian style restaurants. I had the shredded pork with garlic... not bad but the rice was aweful, I couldnt eat it- it was white rice and tasted like cheap white fish. My beau had the veggies and red pork, he liked it but it wasntthe best hes had. Love the fact that we were served free jasmine tea... that was beautiful. Egg rolls not so good, crab rangoon not bad. On a whole concidering the choice is fast food, give this place three stars. Would be better if it had buffet for the quality of the food.

This is a small town restaurant thats been in the same building for a while. It was fairly busy on a Saturday evening, but not so much that there was a wait. The quantity was generous for the reasonable price. The food was slightly bland, but none of our group ordered the spicy dishes. The wait staff were friendly and attentive.

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants around! The owners are always there with a smile to greet you and the staff is always friendly. The building is older but you cant beat the food, even during peak lunch and dinner hours theres always someone making sure you get what you need.

Good food, but no substitutions.... the only bummer is we wanted fried rice and not white. The sweet and sour is an amazing sauce. The chicken and broccoli was also great. We also ordered the lo mein, it was Great full of veggies and great taste.

Not bad, but not great. Its very americanized, overcooked, and priced for high quality. Unfortunately, its on the low side of average... at best.
