Not going back to this place. To start my boyfriend and I had planned to drive around town and find a cute place to eat for dinner. This restaurant looked nice so we went in and were seated right away. Our server came to get our drink orders and took a while to get back on food. The menu was small and there were only about 4 vegetarian options so I ordered a salmon sandwich and we also added side ceasar salads. Before the salads we were given bread... 2 weany slices with butter (ok lame, seriously?) and were never offered more bread (cheap #1) then we got our salds and it had pretty much no dressing so we had to actually ASK for more (cheap #2) then the band started (annoying #1) we had NO idea there was a band and it was SO loud, if we had known were wouldnt be able to hear ourselves think, we would have just left. The entire time the waitress was good about refilling drinks but everytime I asked her something extra she was like "WHAT?" (this started before the band even, annoying #2) we get out food and to my irritated surprise there is BACON on my sandwich (annoying #3) who puts bacon on a fish sandwich??????!!!!!! I told the waitress I had no idea (not on the menu description) and it needed to be remade. She was like "ok" then came back a few min later and was like "yea its gonna be a while" like its my fault... my food actually came back out only about a min after but I was suspicious (since I only waited 5 min) they just pulled the bacon off, ew. so we pretty much left right after that. Overall not a good experience and the food was overpriced anyhow so I wouldnt even consider trying again!

We had eaten at Manitou Station last November when they first opened and had an over all good experience. We went back this weekend and had an absolutely terrible time. The food was the worst part. My spouse had the steak sandwich, by the time it arrived at our table the bread had gotten so soggy that it could not pick it up. Picked at it with a fork, but the meat had an odd grainy texture. The fries were straight out of the bag Ore-Ida steak fries. My cheese and chicken sandwich was cold and overdone. The pasta salad side was billed to have artichoke in it, but my portion did not have any. Last time we were given a bread basket of Irish soda bread, we did not receive that this time, not sure if the server forgot or they dont offer it anymore. The service was very slow, we were offered a free dessert to make up for a miscommunication with the order, which was a nice thought, however it did not arrive until 20 minute after our dinner plates had been taken away. We really just wanted to leave at that point unfortunately it took another 25 minutes to get the check. We were there at 5pm on a Sunday with just a few other people in the restaurant, not sure if it would be better or worse at a busier time, but we wont be back to find out.

Jake and his staff at Manitou Station provided us with a wedding reception that we will never forget. From the reception hall, which was absolutely beautiful (thanks to Sherri and her crew for decorating) to the food, you knew that you were in the hands of professionals. You probably already know that Manitou Station has great food but just wait until they put on an event for you! The food they provided was absolutely amazing! The service from the bar and wait staff was almost like it was personalized just for our event. Our guests cannot stop talking about how classy the restaurant was and how good the food was. The entire staff really went out of their way to make sure we and our guests had a great time. At the end of the day the crew at Manitou provided us with the most beautiful reception we could have ever imagined. We will be recommending them to anybody that needs a place have a party or just a place sit down for an excellent dinner. Thanks for making our wedding day so beautiful and memorable. I have been to Manitou Station 3 times, and each time had problems with the servers. The first one was just plain rude. She dropped off the ketchup bottle for my father-in-law - actually dropped it off. She spoke very little, like we were wasting her time. The second server made me wish for our first server. She was too chatty and actually made an exaggerated frowny face when we turned down dessert. The third one just did not show up. For 10 minutes, we waited. Then, we finally flagged another server down. She waited on us, but told us she wasnt supposed to be there. Be gracious, say "Im sorry you had to wait, but I would be happy to help you", and wait on the table. Then, give the server whos table its supposed to be a hard time in the kitchen. The food is fine, the atmosphere is fine, but Im just not sure I will be back. Good service (its not brain science, its just being a proper host) is very important to me.

The menu is nothing to brag about. We thought the place was going to be fancier because of the look of the place. Thought maybe they had a better selection for dinner - I just looked at their website and the lunch and dinner menus are pulling up as the same. The food is overpriced for what you get and the service is absolutely terrible. We sat on the patio shortly after 11am on a Sunday. The waitress was bringing the cup of soup out from the kitchen and walked so slow - the soup had a film on the top from getting cold and it was luke warm. Drinks never got refilled. Chicken curry salad was tasteless. Walnut salad was a joke-greens with apples and walnuts - no cheese??? It really needs more to it. Took forever to get the bill and then for them to run the credit card. Wont be returning.

The Station is a great place for both traditional Scotch/Irish fare as well as traditional American pub food. The menu is very good. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu, but I highly recommend the parmesan encrusted BLT and the Scotch Egg Burger. They have a variety of fun theme nights throughout the week including a trivia night on Mondays that is quite fun. It is a family friendly restaurant with ample seating. I have rarely had to wait to get a seat (outside of holidays and special events). There is a small parking lot on Hwy 61 and the rest is streetside. While you should allow yourself some time to find street side parking, its in the heart of old White Bear Lake, so there is ample parking within 1-2 blocks.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!! I went there with some friends and because I was drinking water instead of booze like my friends (Im pregnant) the waitress ignored me. Even though I ordered appitizers and food. Each time my friends needed another beer or drink she seemed to gladly help them but if I asked for a refill on water she rolled her eyes at me. After about my 4th water she brought a pitcher of water and slammed it on the table in front of me, rolled her eyes and walked away. What a B%$#H*!!!!!!! Then as I was leaving I heard her talking to a customer about sexual things. Talk about super inapropriate and not the type of talk to hear at a supposidly nicer restaurant. Never going back!!!!!!
