YOU WERE SO RUDE!!!!! I wanted to eat at this restaurant because I like the Minneapolis location. Talking on the phone with the person was very hurried and he didnt want to even take my order. I wanted to eat in, but he said that it was packed and we couldnt reserve a table for free. So, okay. Not a problem, I understand. We go over and head over to the take out area and then find that there are so many empty tables that can seat 6-8 people. He just wasnt willing to seat 3 people at a larger table in case someone else came in. Otherwise, it was busy at the 3-4 person tables. When I go to the front, the guy rudely states: " I cant guarantee any kind of seat ever." I dont argue because its not worth it. Now that we are paying, it comes to < $30 and we each buy our items individually. Paying with cards, the guy says: Dont give me a card unless you want me to charge ten dollars. (after having someones card in his hand and ready to swipe!!) When I pay with a discover card, he tries to swipe it, then slams it on the counter and says: Dont give me discover cards either, we dont take it. Overall, restaurants are a hospitality industry and you need to be respectful when dealing with customers. My orders were not hard, and I just wanted to eat at the restaurant I never tried before. I am still surprised this happened for no good reason, and I hope that he either leaves that restaurant or learns manners. As far as food goes, my dish leaked most of the sauce out since it wasnt closed all the way, but the food was mediocre at best. HIGHLY recommend that any customers go to the university avenue location instead of this location since they have manners there and the food is prepared a lot more carefully.

Great food, but shady servers. This was my first experience there. At the beginning, there was 17 of us, and were we not greeted; it seemed like the servers crinkled their foreheads when they saw us heading in. It was dinnertime, I expected it to be busy, but it was the opposite. I requested our two main tables to be combined, our server rejected our request quickly! Putting that factor aside, we then progressed to viewing our menu. Our server never asked us if we wanted anything to drink, he just brought us water about five minutes after we arrived. I, being the host of this dinner, headed to our server to request for hot tea to be served, and our server, said “no, we do not have enough cups for all of you.” We did have a 17 people; it’s interesting that you are a Tea House with less than 16 teacups... Our entrees slowly crept out of the kitchen, and one by one they began to fill our tables. We were told to jump into our meals, and not to wait for they might get cold. FYI, make sure all your ordered dishes arrives, because I was charged for two entrees that did not arrive!!! Overall, the food was great but service was mediocre. My advise, keep your eyes on all the dishes and your receipt!!!!

Food was great, came with a large party for a birthday party. That is no excuse for the worst customer service ive ever had in my life. I DO NOT recommend coming here with a party. EVER. Ive been here twice and have had crap service both times. I love the food, but the service kills it for me unfortunately. And this day was my last straw. Youve lost a customer, and probably 22 others. Customer service experience in a nutshell: -Waiter did not listen to us, continued to blame us for his mistake. -Argues with us, then leaves the bill for our 20+ party, which was impossible to sort out. -Asked him four times (2 out of the 4 ended with him responding with "k", meaning he probably didnt listen to us) to split the bill according to table (write all of the orders for one table on a check, not difficult) -Continues to blame us for not telling him to do the above, but that was because he was ignoring us. - To top it off, it was a friends birthday party. What a birthday gift, right? - Two hours to sort bill, waiter disappeared for an hour. - After trying to voice our concerns to him after the 2 hours, he gave us multiple "k" responses.

The Tea House used to be an excellent Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately its gone down hill. Lately the food has not been served warm enough and some of our favorite dishes are now a bit greasy and unpleasant. The service and atmosphere seems to have gone down hill as well. Two of our favorite waitresses have left and two somewhat indifferent teenage waiters appear to have taken their place. They installed two TVs which gives the place a somewhat tacky feel. Last time we dined at the tea house the lights were not dimmed - I felt like I was eating dinner in an interrogation room. Also we ordered appetizers as we usually do. The waiter gave us full size plates rather than the smaller dishes that should always be provided with appetizers - When the meal came out the waiter asked us if it was okay if he not replace the the dishes with fresh dishes for the main meal. All in all this went from one of the best Chinese Restaurants in the Twin Cities to just an average place.

I wasnt greeted with a warm welcome, but it wasnt exactly rude, so I looked past that. My waitress was courteous enough, though. However, I ordered a combination fried rice and it smelled and looked great. But came with HAIR in it. More disgusting than the hair in my food was the staffs reaction to my complaint. I was not irate or nasty, but they were unapologetic nor were they concerned about how I felt as a customer. I was charged full price for my appetizer and drink, didnt even receive a "sorry for the inconvenience," and when I brought this to their attention they still seemed uninterested. As a consumer I choose with whom I spend my money, and any business that cannot show a sliver of appreciation for my choosing them has failed big time, good food or not. I will not be back.

Having worked in the same area as its location for some time, I never thought to stop there because its in a strip mall. However After going to lunch with a coworker I am probably hooked on the place. The athmosphere is very quiant. If you dont know what you want; maybe a little indecisive, the waiters are quick to help you narrow it down. The food was really good too. Although its a little on the salty side, the flavor is fantastic. They have a good variety of lunch specials that all include an egg roll and choice of soup. If you dont like soup, they will give you an additional egg roll. Worth the trip. -C-

Simply amazing. Without a doubt my favorite authentic Chinese restaurant. Triple Kung Pao, Chicken with Double Chili Pepper, Szechuan Double Cooked Pork, Chicken Element, and the Whole Fish Stewed in Bean Sauce are all outstanding dishes. The Szechuan Dumplings in Hot Sauce and Hot and Sour Soup are excellent starters. Wonderful decor and a very courteous wait staff that will remember your names after a few visits. All in all one of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities.
