I will walk you through my experience from the first time I walked through the door: 11:00am Saturday (yes this is rush time) Fight my way in through a crowded entry way (Good sign, the place is busy). Host asks: "Name? Ok. Its going to be awhile just so you know." 11:15: We are sat (not Bad!) 11:35: The two of us watched 5 tables that were sat after us receive their drinks before us AND have their orders taken before us. I finally got up to ask if a server was planning to head to our table and was met with a rude demeanor. 11:45 Server shows up without apology and disinterestedly takes our order. 12:05: we receive our food, which was delicious (Breakfast Chimi and some sort of Cajun Breakfast-type meal). 12:15: our drinks are empty, The server never shows up to refill them. 12:25 our bill is dropped quickly at our table without a thank you or any type of concern about how our food/experience was. 12:35: Fight our way back through the entry way and out. In summary: Excellent food and quite possibly the worst service I have ever had. I worked in restaurants through high school and college, cooking and serving, and still found no excuse for the service at this place. In fact, this was the only time in my life I left NOTHING for a tip. That server deserved nothing. The cooks did deserve something, but when I asked if I could break a bill to tip them, the rude host made it seem like too big of a deal so I said "never mind" and left.

If youre looking for a diner/cafe with solid food that tastes as good as it looks, this is your spot. The traditional pancakes look fluffy and inviting (and actually have great flavor) while the cornmeal ones have that extra savory flavor that makes them worth a try. Generous portions, including for the classic mimosas. Breakfast all day, but some good lunch/sandwich options. I tend to go for classic options here like the create-your-own breakfast sandwich, but Ive never had anything here I didnt think was good. Can be quite busy during peak hours like Sunday brunch, but worth the noise and the wait for some traditional options (and a few novelties like the breakfast Migas) that will sit well.

Once great place to eat. Not so much anymore. Used to love this place. Service has been falling off for awhile here. We stopped going at night because it was so frustrating. Today may be our last time. Tried to order a beer while waiting for our table. One person saw me and turned around to ignore me. One talked to me but said someone else would help. We were at the counter and watched our food sit for somewhere between 5-10 minutes. One waitress pushed our food out of the way to get to hers instead of turning around to give to us. Finally got our now lukewarm food. My wife and I both ran out of our drinks. No offer for more.

We had a group of 10 and were not really familiar with the resteraunt "sizes" in this area... we actually all planned to go to "The Naughty Greek". However, it has a very small space and was very busy. I am so thankful we had to change plans! The Neighborhood Cafe accommodated all 10 of us so we were able to sit together, the service was excellent, all of our food came out at the same time, all of us LOVED our food! It was just an excellent experience all the way around. I will be back!

While Im sure there were better things on the menu, I was really feeling a breakfast sandwich. It wasnt bad, but something didnt taste quite right. However, I dont want to judge this restaurant solely on the breakfast sandwich because so many things looked good on the menu, so Ill definitely be going back. The hashbrowns were incredible, you could definitely taste the freshness, and the service was beyond helpful.

Staff was young perky and happy!! Beautiful menu with a variety of options. For sure made the right choice going with the Oozy Suzy with egg, which was a great burger with there homemade cheese sauce on it! Had a selection of Wine and other alcohol that Im sure you would enjoy. Although we didnt try the desserts, they looked phenomenal and would have loved to try them. Definitely a place to dine at!!

Everyone who works here is the best. Theyre so nice and the food is SO good it has quickly become one of our favorite places. Breakfast all day is a definite plus, but their happy hour is a great deal. We came in two minutes to the end of happy hour and they not only gave us the happy hour price, they said the next two drinks we ordered would be that price too. Love love love this place!

The Neighborhood is great for breakfast and for happy hour. All of their numerous breakfast dishes have been tasty, filling, and fair priced. The coffee is similarly delicious, and the waitresses always stop by enough, even during busy hours, to fill mugs. Happy hour entrees are very good and a bargain, and the selection of beers that are half price leaves little to be wanted.

Great food at a reasonable price. On Tuesdays you can get a burger, fries, and a drink for 7 dollars! Friendly staff as well. Great place for a date or really anytime you want some freshly made food! Also, they have an award for not only their pancakes but their country fried steak. Ive had both and can easily recommend them

Been coming here for breakfast every Sunday for ages. Love the staff, the food is fantastic and fresh. The lunch and dinner are just as good and their burgers are among the best in town. I love their veggie burger, hand made and excellent. Best of all, the cinnamon rolls are outstanding and about the best Ive had anywhere.

Its always busy, but if you wait you will see why its so busy. Im not big on pancakes, but I always get at least one when I am here. Best pancakes in the Twin Cities. The Migas is always a solid choice to spice up your morning, and the people have always made me feel like I am home, even the first time I came.

Service was fantastic, and they got us in quick for brunch on a Saturday morning. A+ there! Problem is that the coffee and food less than impressive. I dont say this lightly, but possibly the worst coffee Ive ever had, and my eggs Benedict with sausage was overly salty, over cooked and just not good.

These guys have great tasting food, and a menu with variety. I recommend their breakfast food and mimosas, as well as the bean burger. They also have a good selection of local beers on tap. Casual atmosphere with inviting staff, very fitting of the name. Our first visit was great, and we will be back.

Went to the cafe on a busy Sunday morning. Wait wasnt terrible or at least to be expected. The staff is friendly and accommodating as we sat at the bar stools. Food was generous and delicious. Very reasonably priced considering the amount of food that was on the plate. Definitely worth a try.

Decent, quality, affordable breakfast. Place can get busy and crowded (at least it was at 9am on a sunday) but food service was quick, tho wait service seemed stretched a little thin (not rude or bad just scarce). Overall a good average local breakfast spot, worth a return visit.
