Worst. Breakfast. Ever. My husband and I hadnt been out for breakfast in a long time and we were pretty excited to go as its one of our favorite meals to go out for. We were going to go to The Neighborhood Cafe (this place is awesome for breakfast) but couldnt because of the race on Summit. Anyway, a friend recommended The Highland Grill and we, by mistake, went to The Highland Cafe and Bakery. Everything was luke warm when it came to our table...our toast was cold and soggy when we got it. Anyway, no need to go on about it...it was just gross and for the two of us it was $31.60 not including tip. I will never be going back to this place. Thanks for being a complete disappointment. Maybe next time we go out well actually make it to The Highland Grill...I hear its delicious, but then again, anything is better than a cold plate of slop.

I love this place! I go there with a friend and her two young boys (now 4 & 6) after we go out for some fun. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly. The food that weve eaten is always good. The boys love the Mickey Mouse pancakes and actually call the Highland Cafe the Mickey Mouse place. My friend and I get the french toast with bacon. They have thick delicious bacon. The other diners are always very kind about the kids being with us and actually get a kick out of them. Its a nice laid-back atmosphere. One of these days well get around to trying some of the yummy looking treats in the bakery case but were always too full.

We came here twice to give it a chance. The food is flavorless, and boring. The oatmeal was undercooked, the turkey super dry, the salad seemed like it came out of a Lunchables container. The servers are kind, but they are basically absent during your visit. There is a younger one who seems more attentive but the older crew basically ignores you are sitting in their section. Each time weve been there they have brought the bill to the table without asking if we needed anything else. My girlfriend loved their banana nut pancakes. So apparently those are good. In general they seem to be terrified of seasoning and even salt.

I LOVE this place. It is the perfect amount of cozy with great comfort food. Its like sitting in your eccentric great-aunts house during a really good family dinner where everyone is getting along. They are not afraid of butter, cheese, or grease, so it might not be the best option if you are looking for lighter calories, but the foods sinks into your soul and warms you from the inside out. Their baked foods are crazy good. I highly recommend the French toast; fresh-baked cinnamon swirl bread fried just right. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Give it a try if you need cozy comfort food!

We went there for the first time tonight for dinner. Things started off fine but once we got our food, we NEVER saw our waitress again. We ran out of our drinks, we had wanted dessert, we had to get our own togo boxes, never saw a check s had to go to the counter to pay. Told the guy behind the counter our waitress had forgotten us. His response? Do you want a copy of your credit card receipt? We wont be back. Our advice? Go to other places like Neighborhood Cafe or St Clair Broiler where youll get good service.

WORST NASTIEST SERVICE! The waitress vaccines the entire restaurant right next to our food WHILE WE WERE EATING. The vaccines smelled so bad that I couldnt finish my meal. It was 1pm. I told the server she walked away and brushed it off. She was rude the entire time. She said she was the bosses daughter as if that made it OK. It is my birthday. The food was mediocre. Not worth the price but definitely worth the groupon.

The food here is how Perkins used to be. Its old fashioned and good. Dont expect any pretentious BS, its straight forward and simple - the way my family likes it. The servers dont give you a disingenuous attitude and are happy to fix anything that you bring to their attention. Something you millennials, know nothing about.

The service is terrible. The vacuum RUINED our meal. We spent 65$ while they vacuumed around our table and others. waitress was the "owners daughter" so they said her rude behavior was ok. She ruined my birthday. And was not clean. The food was not nearly worth it. DONT GO HERE
