I have to give this place a very low rating because far too many things went wrong to call my experience satisfactory in any way. 1. Noisy - which led to miscommunications and the bringing of a "steak sandwich" when I had ordered the "Ahi steak sandwich" - which others in my party confirmed hearing me say. Also just very hard to communicate with others in the same booth. 2. Disorganized - a change of server mid-meal is undesirable in general, but management made the process very awkward, and ultimately led to waters not being refilled, and no requests for extended times to get another $7.50(!) pint of beer. 3. Food mediocre, at BEST - the calamari appetizer was rubbery and a poor value at $12 for a small plate. I asked if the server could verify that it was not overcooked. I was told that this is typical for calamari - except that I order it nearly everywhere I go, and so I can say with confidence that they are dead wrong. 4. Poor managerial response once I flagged that I was dissatisfied with the service and food - after asking about the food, I was told by the server that the manager would be over shortly to talk about the food. Many minutes later, he had not come over, so I got up to go find him. The manager had been chatting with a patron(?) at the bar casually nearby, and had made no effort to come over and check on why we were dissatisfied as we were told he would. He tried to smile it off and offer desserts to help, but missed the point, and did not come off as genuine. 5. Overpriced. You can be expensive if theres a reason for it. They have lots of tap beers, granted, but the prices would be high for a downtown trendy restaurant, except this is located in St. Louis Park, and I did not see or hear any justification for such high prices. I eat out a lot and this was one of the worst experiences I can remember. A genuinely hard-earned one-star review. Bravo. I usually give a place two tries before passing judgment, but ... I wont be back.

A while back (three months ago or so) I had a corporate lunch here. We had 20 some people in our party. We did call them a head of time to let them know we were coming in. The experience started off just fine, but was derailed when our orders started arriving. One half of the table got their food while the other half didnt get their food for another 15 minutes. Then after the other half got there food there was still five of us who were missing our orders. Which took another 10 minutes at least to receive. I was apart of the last five group. I didnt blame the server they had a large load on their hands. After spending ten years in the serving business myself I have never worked in any restaurant where think kind of service would be considered acceptable. When I complained to the manager they blamed the servers, where I would have to disagree where the blame lies it would be their fault the manager sets the bar of a restaurant in my opinion it was her lack of leadership that lead to this poor experience. On top of that when I was talking with her the body language was of pure annoyance. I didnt expect to be comped, I just wanted to point out this was unacceptable and have a apology. The food itself was good. The servers got drinks in a timely manner and were friendly. I just really hated that they could not get our parties food even remotely severed together, and the manager didnt seem to acknowledge why the situation was so unacceptable.

We came in this Friday the 27th of January after 10pm, the place was not busy at that time. We decided to order some drinks and look at some menu items and order a late night appetizer and or meal. Our drinks arrived, she said she would be back in a minute to take our order...and we did just that....We sat there and waited... For the next 35 minutes because our bartender was too busy socializing with the male patrons. Apparently trying to wave her down, get her attention was a futile effort. My girlfriend and I tried several times to wave her over or just to catch her eye..... We literally sat there and watched the couples next to us order food, get the food and finish eating while we waited for her to take our order. If it was busy, i would completely understand, but it was maybe just a few people sitting down at the bar. The best was that she completely forgot about us..left... and the tab was transferred over to a new bartender who just handed us our Tab without asking if we wanted another drink or if we wanted food. So we paid for our drinks, got up and walked over next door to the punch bowl social which was jam packed with people and guess what, we got our drinks, our food in a timely manner, and our bartender wasnt playing grab ass. If playing grab ass is more important than taking a break during your half hour socializing marathon , I can assure you there are plenty of other good bars in the area with better service to go to.

We went to the Yard House last Saturday because our group couldnt agree on a restaurant. We arrived at around 7:00 and our party of 8 was seated inside within a few minutes. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, especially the house-made ginger beer, southern fried chicken, and the kurobuta pork burger. They even had a gluten free menu for the special needs eater in our group and an expansive beer selection for me. The food was delicious, but we had some problems with service. Ive been here in the past without any issues, so Im sure this was a fluke. Fortunately, we werent in a hurry because we waited a long time for our food. We were there for nearly three hours. Not only did we have to wait for our food, several of the dishes came out cold. Our server, Mandi, was awesome about it. The moment she reached our table she new what was going on and had already talked with the manager. She explained that they were short staffed in the kitchen, but made sure we knew that wasnt a valid excuse for the poor service. Mandi and her manager made sure our meals were made to our satisfaction and took care of us better than I could have asked for. They did everything short of throwing us a parade to be sure we were happy. Despite the problems with service, our meals were delicious and we were treated even better than I would have hoped. Ill be back, thats for sure.

We love the Yard House in Phoenix & hoped to love this location too but we had the mother of all waiting experiences of WELL over an hour and a half - which was not communicated well when we checked in. Finally ate dinner at 9:15 pm! They seem to have a service issue here because once finally seated we waited some more for a server to stop at our table! The TV by us was out (no big deal for us but it looks tacky when things are out of order). The music speaker was directly across from our table and simply too loud. They could use a couple more speakers to avoid the one area being blasted. That having been said, the food & drinks were good & we would consider returning if the service/wait issue could be resolved.
