This is a lovely upscale bistro environment with an open aire kitchen. Very comfortable seating and not over crowded with tables. Really like the atmosphere and the service is excellent. My table of five ordered two apps and drinks to start dinner. Mohitos were a bit sour, the second round was made correctly, my fault for not saying something. The flatbread was excellent and devoured by all. As was the hummus with very fresh veggies and homemade pita. Pita was so well made, delicious! I ordered the Cioppino for my entree. No crab in the serving, bad clams were served in my order (closed clams should have been removed while cooking) and the shrimp were incredibly tough. $33 dollars for a bowl of soup and many components were off. This was my third visit to Mill Valley over a three year period. I love that they have a very comfortable, inviting spot, unfortunately the three times Ive visited the food has been lacking in some way and especially in the finishing. Fresh chopped herbs would go a long way to enhance the flavor of many dishes served here. As well as paying a bit more attention to the details of the dish.

Weve dined with friends several times at this restaurant. Our experience has been pretty consistent that while theres a party atmosphere, its so loud conversation is challenging and the menu is fairly limited. On Sundays, they do kids eat free and the noise level increases even more. I havent submitted reviews after earlier visits because normally I only do reviews to talk about exceptionally good food/service. Our last experience was so exceptionally poor, I feel obligated to write a review. We were a table of 4. Three people ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese and one ordered the Grass Fed Skirt Steak. The Bolognese was dry and the pasta was hard and sticking together. The steak was so tough it was almost impossible to cut or chew. We didnt mention the issue with the steak but did kindly inform our server about the pasta. It was obvious it wasnt edible since when the dishes were removed, most of the food was not eaten. Tab for the meal was over $200 (before tip). We tipped 20% and left feeling that the restaurant really didnt care about our poor experience.

About a month ago I was here with a good number of extended family members in town unfortunately for my grandfathers funeral. Mill Valley put us in a nice little private room. Then Michael (99% sure of the name) walked in and was the best waiter I think Ive ever had. He was consoling and very respectful but then also knowledgeable and joyous to be around. The happy-hour menu (which Mill Valley, you should put on your website) just started when we got there and boy did we take advantage. Everything was delicious and so good that a month after that experience, I reflect on how great it was and thank everyone there for a positive experience in the temporary moment of grief. Also, Michael, I was the one that asked if your "Lemon Scoville" or whatever it was named was for the scoville measurement of heat and you correctly asked if Im an engineer. Awesome experience.

Fairly competent early dinner last night at Mill Valley Kitchen. Decently prepared gravlax & a duck pizza (flatbread). Wife cared less for all radicchio in the salad. Friendly & helpful staff. Location is a bit weird. Parking is around back and you seem to be entering the back-door of a restaurant; but are not. A bit noisy as the room filled. Plus the distance between diners was cramped. Not that I was hearing a lot about Barbara & Phils favorite pinot noir that I couldnt get behind; but seriously if Janice and Arnold are NOT going to complete the fertilization regimen do they really want to have kids? Are they? In my opinion: No.

Mill Valley Kitchen has high quality food that seems to be light and fresh. They have very healthy options, publish information on calorie counts, etc... to allow you to make an informed decision, and have a great selection of wine. The Sea Bass is a great dinner option that is sure to impress. The only problem is the menu has 8-10 main entrees that have not changed since they opened about 1.5 years ago - the menu needs to be refreshed to give patrons some fresh options to match their fresh taste.

Ive been there 4 times now in the past month since being fairly new to Uptown area. This by far is the best restaurant Ive been to for atmosphere, food, service and price. Table 14 is my favorite for date night and the half price bottle of wine night is a great touch. Ive enjoyed also eating in the bar area. The decor is classy. The maitre de and wait help is top notch and I loved all their fish dishes Ive tried. I would highly recommend it.

Outstanding food and Service. My wife and I ate here a few weeks ago, and came away feeling like it was our best dining experience in a very long time. The meal was delicious and stood on its own, but the service was what really made it an experience worth telling the world about. Keep it up guys! Well be back soon. Ask for Jackie....shell take care of you.

This place is great. My family has many dietary restrictions, but we are always able to find something for everyone here (gluten free options and vegan options). The food is delicious! On my last visit, the server Michael was phenomenal. He did a great job of suggesting wine giving us advice on food choices and made sure we were well taken care of.

One of our favorite restaurants/bars. Unique menu selections that never disappoint. Vegetarian friendly. Great wine selections with half priced bottles on Mondays. Local beers available. Cozy bar area with stools, tables and booths. Early happy hour is busy with a quieter late night happier hour. Try a flatbread with an Old Fashioned for a night cap.

Great atmosphere Sadly the sea bass fell short. It was cooked perfectly but was under seasoned. The entire entre was on the bland side. Ingredients were fresh and presentation was attractive. The customer service was fantastic. Im willing to go back for so many of the things they got right and the one thing they got wrong is easily correctable.

I always have a good time and good food at this place. Their fare is always light and creative. They have many gluten free choices that taste delicious. I especially love their juices and smoothies. And their mini desserts served in very small glasses, are just the right size not too feel heavy and exquisitely done.

Went for brunch. Food was delicious and satisfying. Service was excellent. Looked over the dinner menu and will be going back for dinner. The only reason I didnt give a 5 star review was because I would like to see how they are at dinner first. Otherwise great for a date, family dinner, or by yourself.

Went for brunch. Solid food. Not worth driving across town for. Coffee was respectable. Should have tried a cocktail; they had quite the selection (reasonably priced, too). Meals were good. Maple panna cotta with smoked sea salt was the definite star. Amazing, and only $3. Service was excellent.

Every experience Ive had with Mill Valley Kitchen has been absolutely wonderful. The cocktails are amazing, the food is delicious, and the staff is incredible. Plus, they have mini desserts so when youve filled up on a delicious dinner, you can still get a tiny dessert.
