Weve been eating there for years and we keep going back. I always get the Lamb Kebab and my wife the Gyro Platter. I have never had such succulent and flavorful lamb. The dill/yogurt dipping sauce for the meat is delish and cooling when Im in the mood for that. The dinner salad is always fresh and includes a variety of mediterraneum ingredients. Their hummus is our favorite. Our friend had an Athens Burger and her only complaint was "its too big". She was expecting 2 thin patties of meat but she got two full patties of beef and for $1 more, drink and french fries!! Shes always criticising food but not at Athens! We feel like family at Athens and we wish them success and all the best.

I L O V E this place. The first time I ever tried Athens, I was hesitant. Being located in an old strip mall and the decor is a tad outdated. But its super cheap and VERY good. I always buy an extra container of hummus to keep at home. Its so much better than any of the store bought brands. I usually always end up getting the gyro or chicken gyro combo, but have gotten the Mediterranean Combination Platter before. My only warning if you ever get it, is make sure youre hungry! Its a lot of food and a very good way to try (and enjoy) a little of everything. I recommend this place to people all the time and am so glad I live so very close to the best gyros around.

Awesome staff great food. The folks here are friendly and answer all your questions without guff. Ive always loved gryos and the like, and this place has been my local spot. The inside is a bit rustic but it doesnt detract from the food. Take out is easy to get and go with. Got lucky with a Groupon and am very happy with the meal! If you like gyro or falafel and you are nearby - go here

My fiance and I were amazed by how amazing the food is. The Lamb Gyros are the best Ive had in the state, interior isnt in the greatest shape, but it gives the place character. Staff is super friendly, as long as you are friendly back. For the both of us it was about $20 for two Gyros, drinks, fries, and an amazing plate of hummus. We will definitely be going back.

This little place is a gem. Excellent, friendly service and excellent, fresh and quick food. I love the dolmades especially, but have never had anything I didnt like here. Atmosphere is modest, but for me that just shows they think food quality is more important than interior design... and thats not such a bad thing sometimes.

A Robbinsdale gem!!!. Athens Cafe has a smaller dining area, Im guessing the regulars are mostly carry out. Fantastic gyros. My wife and I got the daily special it was a LOT of food, brought half of it home. Loved the Greek salad. Prices very reasonable. I dont get to Robbinsdale often, but I will be going back. Loved it!

If you want to feel like you have arrived in Greece, this is the place for you. The gyros is not to be missed, felafel is just like Athens or Jerusalem, curried rice is nothing short of Bombay. The portions are just as good as the wonderful food. Atmosphere is a bit stark, but the food more than worth it.

My husband and I are vegan and they are always so accomodating to our needs. We stop a few times per week for the hummus and pita for snacks which is made fresh. Being regular customers it is great to be known there and my daughter gets a little treat once in a while :) I highly recommend Athens Cafe

OMG, never had such a great gyro and the portion is amazingly huge. Order it with the fries and soda for about a dollar or so more, and I am telling you, you cant eat it all. You will need a box for home! The fries are fresh and huge serving also. Wish I had known about this place years ago!

Discovered this place with some coworkers, and now, like Pavlovs dogs, we get hungry at the very thought of athens. Presentation is no BS, and the food is twice as tasty as places that spend money on fancy lighting and tables. This place is a staple of lunch break happiness.

Get the gyro special. You get a gyro, fries, and a fountain drink. The gyros are the size of your head and the fries are seasoned but not overly. Meat was delicious and packed full inside the pita, topped with a tasty cucumber sauce. All this for $6 and change. Sold.

A GO TO STOP when were in Robbinsdale! Love their Gyros Combo with gyro, fries, and drink, GREAT PRICE & good quantity, tastes wonderful. Also love their Mediterranean platters with choice of seasoned or marinated meat, rice or fries, salad, hummus, and pita bread.

Really liked the lamb kebab! That lamb is just so tasty and had many layers of flavor. I also ordered the Value Gyro for $6.99. It was huuuge and came with fries and pop. Good, satisfying meal. Leave room for the dessert. The rolls were awesome as was the baklava.

Great place, great people. The gyro is decent but everything else is awesome. I pick up dinner on the way home more than once a week. The servers are great too. They seem to actually care if your order is on time and correct. Go here to eat. Do it.

The food here makes my taste buds salivate just thinking of it. The Gyro meat is fantastic and the hummus is to die for, not to mention the marinated chicken. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the mood for Greek/Middle Eastern food.

Were moving out of Robbinsdale, and this is one of the biggest things well miss... I am SURE well make the trek up from south minneapolis just to eat at Athens. split a gyros plate, its enough to feed 2! Very economical!

This place is a hidden gem! Their food is the best around. All fresh and fresh tasting, really reasonable prices. Sheet having gyros a few other places well never go anywhere else, this place is just so much better.

I got the lamb gyro and it was huge! Quite Authentic; tastes just like how I had it over seas. The service was great - Friendly/Open atmosphere. We got our food pretty quickly. Definitely will go there again soon. :)

This place has very good gyros at a reasonable price. The lunch special is a gyro, fries and a drink for only $7.99 and the portions are generous. Great place for lunch that is quick, but not fast food.

Okay guys this place is a bit of a dive but the food is fantastic. Its also a great value. My husband and I got the dinner for two and we had enough leftovers for us to have lunch again the next day.
