Theres a sign in the entryway that says "DO NO WASTE OUR FOOD! If you are wasteful, we will charge you and extra 25%!" Way to insult your customers as soon as they come in the door, guys!!! That needs to be taken down immediately, its inappropriate for a BUFFET of all places to say that. I couldnt get that sign out of my head the entire time I was there, and it colored my perception of the place entirely. The food was fair, not excellent but worth the price of a buffet. It could have been a bit hotter, considering all the meats they have there on the buffet. The salmon was especially good, and the sweet and sour chicken was a bit rubbery. Medium marks there, I suppose. The service (as far as waitresses went) was nonexistent. They brought me a glass of ice water and I didnt see an employee again until I was out the check out desk paying for my meal. So, cant complain but I have nothing to go on. The decor and cleanliness of the place was PRESTINE. I know guys in the navy that are not this clean in their personal space. Very, very high marks for cleanliness in the dining room and around the buffet! They take good care of the place! EDIT: Also, it struck me as odd that none of the foods on the buffet are labeled. Considering its foriegn food, isnt that a standard thing you should have? Im not complaining, its just strange... Update (5/24/15): I dont know what the heck happened to this place. Now its filthy, the seating is cracked and gross, and the waitress seating people was ON HER CELL PHONE. Any other resturaunt would fire your stupid ass for something like that! If this were not the ONLY Chinese place within a 30-mile radius, I would never eat there again! If any company, ANY company, decided to open an oriental place in Northfield this place would be gone within a year, I garuntee it!

The buffet is your standard fair and usually quite good, especially during prime lunch and dinner hours. I found most of the negative reviews I read here could have been applied to any buffet. Such as the food had been sitting there way to long. Heres an idea dont go to a buffet on a Tuesday at 1:30 pm and expect super fresh food...order off the menu. We usually get the food to go and it is still fresh and hot by the time we get back to our house. I can order my food for pick up, wait five minutes, and then go get and its done. I also think the up charge sign is hilarious and people need to be reminded to not waste there food just because its a buffet. Its a lot more rude to let a whole plate of food go to waste than the restaurant suggesting you dont waste there food, time, or money...and my guess is that they never actually charged anyone extra. Overall Id say its good pick up food, a decent buffet, and super friendly staff!

Last time we give this place a chance. From rude handwritten signs threatening to charge you more on the all you can eat buffet if you overfill your plate, the stale dry food, even the rice, not re-filling the buffet when it gets low, including the rice, the family kids running and throwing things while people are trying to have a meal, and those same young kids running the register. My husband thought he would try it again and decided to get the buffet to go, soup is include on the buffet, and he has gotten it to go with the buffet to go before. This time, they refused to give him a container for the soup, telling him anything he took to go had to fit in the one container holding his food, and actually told him if he wanted the soup that is included with the buffet, he could just pour it into his food. Thats it for us. Honestly have no idea how they are still in business

Food was bland. When i took a look at my sushi to determine what was in it the waitresses and manager looked at me for a good 30 seconds with disgusted looks, it was incredibly uncomfortable. I could only get 1 sushi because they never layed out more for 1 hour and 30. The crab was artificial or frozen. The space between the booth and myself was a good 2 feet on both sides. The booth would rock back and forth, a large man was sitting behind me and when he sat down it flung me foreward and stained my white shirt with my own hot tea. I wouldnt trust 80% of the food here the only thing i enjoyed was my hot tea. The food here makes fast food look like its high quality.

The New Buffet is merely okay, by no means a "must do" destination in Northfield. Not the cleanest place, but not so filthy to keep the regulars away. Service quality has varied over the years with different owners. Not the best food, but sometimes we just want to do a Chinese buffet and this is the only game in town...and good enough on those rare occasions. The rude signs that used to be up about wasting food and their posting of bad checks on the wall seems to have been cleaned up. I agree, it was not the most pleasant way to greet customers. It is what it is... a cheapish Chinese buffet with mediocre offerings.

Service was horrible! Lady sat In front of me watching me eat my cold food, while making sure I didnt drop a piece of noodle on the table, never offered to refill my drink while she looked mad the whole time, I honestly felt like asking her to heat my food up in the microwave because it was all cold and I had just gotten there. Seriously I dont know why they even have this place open , just ripping people off, serving cold food and not fresh . Wouldnt even recommend this restaurant to anybody , I think I would have eaten better at home , some Roman noodles . Freshly made.

I really like their food. It doesnt taste oily. It tastes fresh and there are goid variety of dishes. Better than great moon buffet and other overrated buffets. Dinner includes shrimp, dumplings, crab legs, mussels for a very cheap price. Lunch is $6 and dinner is $8.65 plus tax. Great food and staff.

We arrived at 7:30 pm and they had stopped refilling the buffet trays. We got very little of anything to eat,the crab was waterlogged and rubbery. The salmon was good but they never refilled it. I have eaten at many of this style buffets in the the past and will avoid this one.

Dont eat here the food was very dry and bad. They didnt put good food out. We were there for twenty min never brought out fresh food. The food looked like it was there for two hrs. It was nasty. Ive heard people were getting food poisoning. Never eat there ever again.

Everything was gross and had obviously been sitting for Way too long. The ice cream was freezer burnt, nothing is clearly labeled, and the plain white rice was burnt. I would not recommend.

Best place to eat! The food is so good and they always have a lot of it. Its my favorite place to go eat! Ive aten there probably 100 times and never had a problem with it!

Each time we come the quality of food decreases, the staff is not friendly at all! The place is becoming very dingy . Disappointed for sure!
