Horrible experience! Everything was fine until we got our food. I ordered the American Breakfast and my eggs werent done all the way, they were really runny. I wanted them scrambled with cheese. My friend then orders the chicken wings and they wings werent done they were pink in the inside and when we told our waiter Blake about it he said thats how they are supposed to be because no matter how hard theyre fried thats how theyre going to be so we told him we didnt want them and he then took them to the back and made some better ones. We then told him we didnt want the wings and instead we wanted some fries so he then brought back the fries. When it was time for us to go and he brought us our bills my friend asked why was she charges for the chicken she didnt want, our waiter Blake began to be very rude and talking in this sarcastic tone. He continued to be rude with us and after taking our money he brought back our change in all change ( quarters, nickels, and pennies) and threw out bills at us after getting up and walking our way to the door he continued to be rude and sarcastic to us. Im never coming back or telling people to eat there.

As a last minute decision, a friend and I decided to try breakfast at The Lowry. I hadnt heard much about the restaurant or the menu, but decided to give it a go. I was greeted by a host who opened the door for me, with a giant, warm smile! She was so kind, and I wish I grabbed her name so I could give her some more recognition. She offered us the option of sitting inside or outside, and we picked the patio, which is awesome by the way. Our server was super busy, but I never wouldve known that! His wait assistant, who had a fantastic happy attitude as well, grabbed our drink order right away. Our server, I think his name was Brian, took care of us like we were the only table he had seated. The food was flippin delicious, and came out almost as quick as we had ordered it. I just really want to take time to say thank you to all of these awesome people on your staff. I work in the service industry as well, and I know how hard it can be to keep that positive demeanor during a rush. They made my morning freaking great. I will be telling everyone I know to check out this place, the awesome service and great food!!!!!!!!

We are in walking distance and go to The Lowry at least once a month since it opened late 2011. Food is mostly comfort food, step above family restaurants. We have tried oysters (had a good condiment with it, Rockafeller?). The Ranch salad dressing and other sauces, condiments seem "homemade" and good flavors. Several items have horseradish flavor, which is comforting to me. The meatloaf is very good. We have had friendly service and no problems every time. The kids get a kids menu, crayons and some Goldfish crackers. Theres a rotation of desserts, always one type of cheesecake either lime or caramel (or...?). Decent salads with microgreens (no iceberg!). Theres a card for buy 5 breakfast entrees, get one free. I have never used that, as we always get dinner. Parking lot is ample. The Lowry seems busy on the weekends / peak times, so we have been going on weeknights.

Very bad experience: service and food quality. Was excited to try the brunch here after hearing good things. 1 hour wait, they ran out of chicken wings!!! one of our dishes tasted like cleaning chemicals: politely sent it back and the server then tried to blame us (the customer) in saying it was "probably the peppers in the dish" and that we didnt understand since we havent had it before. In addition to this dish, the other dishes like sweet potato hash had almost no sweet potatoes and zero flavor overall (maybe they could not manage food quality due to the large amount of customers there). Split the check at the end: that got messed up. And to top it all of, the coffee I drank was in a mug from 1997!!! I was 6 years old then, think of how many people have drank from this mug! Gross! They ran out of clean mugs and pulled this out of the back somewhere.

My friends I and got stereotyped and profiled as being loud just because of the way we look. I went to the Lowry for dinner with my husband and a friend. We asked for a table outside and they told us that they dont seat people outside past 10:30pm for noise control, when we asked them if we can at least say hi to a group of friends who were sitting outside they let us sit with them. After sitting there for a little bit they brought in three new customers and seated them right behind us. The group of friends who were there before us were told the same thing when they initially arrived regarding not being able to sit outside, and where only seated there after they witnessed two other customers taken to an outside table. This is not right and not acceptable.

The atmosphere is good here- busy bees running all over the place. I ordered the grilled cheese and fries with a tomato soup shooter. I am no health nut, but boy was everything on my plate just drenched in grease. I know, I know, I ordered the grilled cheese and fried fries- I get that. But literally my sweet potato fries were burned and soggy and my grilled cheese was literally dripping grease, not dripping cheese. Our server Phil was fantastic, adorable and fantastic. The sandwich was good- but I could not get over the fact that with every bite, I was clogging arteries one bite at a time- it was that intense. I needed to wash my face after my venture. Ill give it another shot maybe- but no cheese sandwich or sweet potato fries for this kid.

The Good: Comfortable chairs and booths. Large selection of alcoholic beverages. Cozy atomsphere. The Bad: Be prepared to wait from 30 to 45 minutes on weekends and peak times for a table. Long wait times for food and drinks to arrive at your table. Average food. Loud and hard to have a conversation. Avoid the Eggs Benedict, the English Muffins are hard as a hockey puck. Atmosphere 7/10 Drink Options 8/10 Wait Time 2/10 Food 4/10 Total 5/10 Mehh Blue Plate can do better. Best for hanging out with friends not a great option if you are pressed for time as service is incredibly slow. On weekends be prepared to invest 2 to 2.5 hours for a meal.

The first dozen oysters were so good we had a half dozen for dessert! They have a fantastic selection of cocktails, from sweet to savory. And the food is delicious - breakfast burrito, American hash burger, heirloom tomato Caprese. The waitress was helpful in answering questions about the menu and drinks. In August 2016 theyre having a week-long 5 year anniversary celebration. I already have plans to return several times to take advantage of those specials - bacon day, bloody Mary day, grilled cheese day, etc. Well worth it for the flavors and the atmosphere - beautiful interior and exterior dining with fun, and eclectically wonderful staff!

The Lowry is one of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities. The menu is full of amazing options, Ive been lucky enough to try the poutine, the tomato & fresh mozzarella sandwich, the mac & cheese, and the Nutella waffles, and everything Ive tried is so rich and delicious! I chose to come here for my birthday this year and I was blown away by it! They gave me a free desert, and I got a slice of cheesecake which was huge and amazing. But the most amazing thing is that they gave me a birthday card filled with staff signatures, it was the sweetest thing! I love this place, thank you for a wonderful birthday!
