Order was forgotten. Waited for 30 min. We walked in when the restaurant wasnt actually busy (few customers with their food served). We are the only customers ordering at that time. Unfortunately, it started to get busy right after with more people come in. We waited until we saw several customers coming after us get their order and it is exactly the same thing we ordered. Turns out they lost/misplace the ticket which never get to the kitchen. So we canceled the it and left. Two details make me believe the service is horrible and they dont care about the customer (shouldnt happen in this type of home style kitchen/restaurant): (1) We were the only order they have when we started (2) We were sitting right next the the register/kitchen, right under their noses.

Well, more like 3.5. I came here at lunch where the lunch specials were $7. I got the Chicken bulgogi and my friend got the pork one. Both were very good for the price. I thought the pork bulgogi was just marinated so well. You get your own banchan so thats also a plus. You come in and pick your seats quickly, then order up front where they give you a ticket. Then, you wait for your ticket number to be called and pick up your own food. You also need to put it away yourself afterward. There is no atmosphere to speak of, and because the place is tiny and cramped, the circulation isnt very nice and you end up smelling like the food when you leave. :( Still, I went there for the food and I loved the it so Ill probably be back!

BEST KOREAN FOOD. Ive been to many different Korean restaurants, and nothing tops this one. The prices are fair and the food is the bomb! I love the kimbap here and the pork bulgogi. I come here a lot because its right on campus and Ive never been let down by the quality of the meal. Everything is self-served, so you cant really judge the customer service. Yet, the staff are really nice in getting your order. The only thing I dont like is the small parking lot and lack of tables. So, we never come during busy hours and would recommend you to do the same. I would love to see this restaurant expand someday, because the price is great and the food is even better!!!!!!!

Ordered the galbi (#5) and liked the marinade, but the meat was a bit tough. Still good though. Comes with a bowl of rice and five sides (bean sprouts, tofu strips, marinated potato, pickled seaweed, kimchee), all of which I enjoyed, except the kimchee which I didnt try because I cant handle spice. XD When you walk in, you have to go to the back of the store to order (the menu is on the wall behind you when you face the cash register). Then you snag a table while you wait for them to make your food. When your food is ready you hear a chime, and your number is displayed on the wall. When youre finished, you bring your tray back to the front and put it on a shelf.

I was looking forward to good Korean food. The restaurant is a little hole in the wall without much seating. It is generally "seat yourself." We went in to seat ourself and were directed to another table because the table we wanted needed to be wiped down. We said we were willing to wait and they then said no they didnt want to clean it again and they were closing in 30 min so why dont we go over there in the crowded corner and sit there where multiple people would need to get up at multiple tables for someone to leave their seat. There food is pretty basic and tasty but the staff is rude and the atmosphere is crowded. Next time I will pick an alternative.

My sister and I got the jabchae and pork bibimbab (both were $7.49 lunch specials) and they were amazing! They give generous portions for the cost. For poor college students, you can afford the price and feel stuffed when you leave. I included pictures of the menu with prices. The overall temperature of the restaurant is a little warmer than I would prefer, but I think it adds to the hole-in-the-wall ambiance. You do have to get your own water and the orders come out by a number system. Fast service by native South Koreans. Really authentic and delicious food!

This is by far best korean restaurant in the twin cities area. Side dishes are amazing, their food is very authentic. I understand that certain dishes arent quite up to par (e.g. jajangmyun) but there isnt any other korean restaurant that can make those dishes around here anyways. Im not sure what some of these reviewers are talking about. I was BORN AND RAISED in Korea, Im pretty sure what authentic korean food tastes like. I can say this is as close to authentic as you will get around this area. Otherwise just go to Chicago or fly to Incheon.

I had some really good dishes at this place couple years ago but the recent visit was a big disappointment.... aside from very tiny portion of the side dishes, the korean sushi roll with lot more rice and very little "stuffing" in the middle. Both stir fried dishes (spicy rice cake and spicy seafood) the sauces are too watery and bland taste, lack of flavor. Sorry to say I much rather go a little far north to either Dong Yang or Kings restaurant to get a lot more variety of traditional korean dishes.

Wow this place really disapointed me. I came here to fill my craving for some authentic Korean food and ended up with an upset stomach. I had visited Korea twice and have dated a Korean so Ive familiar with Korean food. This place sort of Americanizes the dishes. Hoban, Dongyang, and Kings are probably the more authentic restaurants in Minnesota. Tofu house is decent but limited. The old Shilla is cursed. Green Spoon is some made up fusion that someone made. and Mirror is okay.

I asked the cashier about the daily special, he didnt speak any English, then a skinny old man (the owner?) burst out from the kitchen and started to curse me out in Korean. I was trying to explain to him what the daily special was and he just started to ramble a bunch of foul language at me while his wife was pleading him to stop. I cant speak Korean, but I know enough to understand what he was saying. Good food, but a wretched idiot of an owner...

Took my wife here for her birthday and sat down to mandu and dwaeji bulgogi. Great flavor, generous servings, and while the kimchi tastes like its missing something, the rest of the sides are well-made and would fit any of the menu choices. We especially liked how the bulgogi is served on the same cast iron griddle it was cooked on. This is one place where we will definitely be repeat customers. I highly recommend it.

Heres the thing... the food is 5 stars. It absolutely is. The problem is the environment that you eat in. The kitchen and the dining room are in the same room so it gets very hot. Add to that that there are no open doors, no open windows and no air conditioning, youll be sweating like a pig before your spicy pork bulgogi arrives. If they did something about the temperature, 5 stars!

I had my first experience here today, and was very impressed with the side dishes, tofu soup, and beef bulgogi for sure! The $7 lunch special is a great deal. I also sampled the dol sot bi bim bop, and while the meat and veggies were definitely fresh, the sauce wasnt quite as good as Ive had at other restaurants. Id definitely go back when I get a craving for authentic Korean!
