Dont do it. It wasnt until I had finished eating the food and needed to use the restroom that I realized how truly gross this place was, and I must say I am SO disappointed, because the food tasted GOOD and was authentic! I ordered from the menu, so I never initially saw the buffet area of the restaurant until after I ate. If I had sauntered over to that side of the place before I ordered, I would have walked right out and never ordered anything. The restroom area is located extremely close to the buffet table. The bathroom appeared to have NOT been cleaned in ages, and this was early in the day! My feet stuck to the floor. It was coated in "crud" and reeked of Lysol-scented PEE and poop scented citrus sprays combined. The malodorous stench from the rest room area wafted right out the bathroom door and over and into the buffet and kitchen. And I mean it was REALLY bad. You know that embedded gas station restroom kind of smell? Yeah. Like that. The place at first glance looks neat inside, but it is far, far from CLEAN. No thanks. Go see for yourself, but dont order the food until you get a good look (and smell). ;)

I have been eating at SSC since 1989 and I have never had a bad meal. The food is great and fresh. What you will experience is the old fashioned Chinese restaurants. No shiny tiles, carpets. No white walls, chinese decoration. No bright lights, candles. They have been voted several times as best egg roll in the City Pages. The only thing that might be a little disturbing is the owner. He is not exactly the epitome of friendliness. But I go there to eat. And the eating is good.

This place used to be ok. Tonight crab legs were dry and meat was brown. Tables were all dirty at 7 pm when we arrived. Used to have 3 waitresses now have 1. Older gentlemen taking our payment more interested in his rental business than restaurant customers. After going there for 20 years tonight was our last time.

You will not find a better Chinese buffet that has the quality of personal service of the Southern China Cafe. The owner has an amazing memory and remembers everyone and there stories along with them. I enjoy eating here... its an experience. P.S. the egg rolls with pineapple sauce are WORLD class!

We got chicken lo mein and it was like flavorless ramen noodles with three small pieces of chicken with a few mixed veggies. The sweet and sour chicken was swimming in a lemon sauce and soggy. Worst EVER and for all we got, $40 worth was hardly eaten. Would NOT suggest this restaurant at all.

Dont do it. Food is not good! Couldnt even eat one service of food. When you walk inside it feels like your back in 1990. Restrooms are also nasty! Place needs work or they just need to shut the doors! Was not worth my $20.00 for two people.

Super cold buffet - arrived at 12 noon on a Sunday. The food was mushy. The lo main was dry. Finally decided to order off the menu. The food at least came out hot then but was still mushy and gross
