First time ever visiting the hogan brothers hoagie restaurant, kind of disappointed in the payment system start out with. I just used my card and they ran it and it printed out a receipt for me to sign, and on the receipt it prompted for a tip as per usual. Now at this early in my visit, not having experienced the food nor experienced the service i didnt know what i should be tipping. Tipping usually is gratuity earned with good food and good service, not something thats expected right off the bat. So i tipped nothing, planning on giving a cash tip at the end. We came at busier time so i expected a wait, it wasnt horrible. Took just over 15 minutes to get the food, but it bothered me more when they brought our food out, they forgot the meat for the sandwhiches, you know the first ingredient on the menu when you order. So we had brought that to their attention and it kinda didnt seem like they cared that much, they fixed the problem, and apologized for the mistake, but it felt really insincere. 3 stars, because it wasnt horrible, but i wasnt really happy with my service.

Ok a year ago I would have given five stars. Seems most recently theres a revolving door of employees. The guy in front of me last night ordered a beer and the employee didnt even know how to pour it. The ice cream scoops used to be bragable, now theyre pitiful. The food is always fresh, yet the last 5 or more times the sandwiches were not prepared correctly (either unwanted ingredients or incorrect ingredients). The woman clearing the tables walked around emo-like (seemed like she really didnt want to be there) - not the kind of environment to encourage enjoyment. Sorry, but it would seem you guys are slippin.

I am a New Yorker that gets out to Minnesota periodically to visit my brother and his family. Hogan Brothers is one of my "must get to " places while I am there. We drive from Rosemount to Northfield to eat the most amazing heroes (as we call them in N.Y.) and soup. Sydney loves the beer cheddar and so do I. The atmosphere is charming, the service is outstanding and the prices are unbelievable......Zagats where are you!!!!???????

Consistent and delicious. There arent many places Ill pay 10 bucks for a sandwich. Bread is incredible. Vegetarian and vegan options. They even label soups :) sometimes the college kids are kind of bleh and the manager (at least I think she is) isnt particularly friendly. Luckily for them, this isnt a full service restaurant so deal with the rude lady and get your delicious sandwich. You have to stop here!

Great sandwich shop but with really good soups and with ice cream! Definitely try the chili or the beer cheese soup when you visit. The sandwiches are very good, and a third sandwich and a cup of soup is a pretty good meal. Decent beers on tap (not a huge selection available) and a very good selection of ice cream.

Great hoagies. Options like third, half, or whole hoagie as they are pretty big. Half hoagie and cup of soup is the best. Also offer other sandwiches, muffins and bars, and have a variety of ice cream. The staff is primarily college students so the service quality is hit or miss.

MMmmm, Ill admit that I was dragged here by a hype train of people who attended school nearby at St. Olaf and sometimes college perspectives can be a little skewed, but the food here did not disappoint. Juicy and flavorful sandwiches abound. Highly recommended.

Decent food but horrendous customer service. There is plenty of other places with excellent service and wonderful food in Northfield. I was denied 2/3 of my order by a staff member. This same staff member continued to stare and gawk at me during my entire visit.

Good place for lunch! Go about 11 though. Lines form starting at about 11:30 and the wait can take your lunch hour. Everyone in town loves to come here and so do the students from the high school and two colleges. I wish they had gluten free hoagie rolls.

Great food but went in there on my birthday to get my free hoagie. Told the cashier that it was my birthday and she doesnt say happy birthday. All she says is, "for here or to go." I found that rude. Probably wont go back if thats how Ill be treated.

God their sandwiches are great. A "full" is almost to much for me, and I can usually eat allot. The bread and ingredients are great. I actually crave it out of the blue on occasion. Service is fairly quick, and employees are usually very nice.

Great tasting food. A piece of advice, not everyone has been there so tell people that they have to take a card so that their food can be brought to them otherwise they will wait 30 mins for their food like I did. Also a smile never hurt anyone.

Horrible service, very unprofessional looking workers! Very slow. The guy was very rude when I ordered. I probably wont eat here again, If I do it will be to go. I felt like a nuisance in the dining area. Food was good though.

My daughters favorite place to go all through high school, still drops by when she comes home to visit. This child was known as the pickiest eater! Its very clean, very nice fun people working there! And the food is great!!!

Hogan Bros is known for their unique artisan bread,and giant scoops of ice cream. Every ingredient is fresh and scrumptious! Its a good place to have a get-together or do a school project. They have free WiFi

Heaven on a bun. Get the chili with the beer cheese soup mixed together, its delightful. If the person behind the counter tells you they cant do that, then theyre lying and just being a prick.
