We went for an early Mothers Day celebration tonight and it wasnt a good experience from the beginning to end. I am only giving it 2 stars because a few of our party got their meals on time and had a good meal. Things started to go wrong when one of our party ordered a beverage on the menu that they were out of, and was convinced to order a different one she didnt like at all. Then when we had been there 20 minutes and began to order for a party of 8 I ordered a rotisserie chicken sandwich which rotisserie chicken is a featured item on the menu. The server muttered something about checking on something, and then came back to inform me there was no chicken tonight as their roaster was down. That would have been O.K. to announce as you were bringing our drink order as a by the way, but not after we had been sitting there 20 minutes. I stated I didnt have a back up order as who thought chicken wouldnt be a choice and ever thing else on the menu I had considered had chicken in it. I asked if i could order some of the items on the menu with a different meat such as some of the pizzas, but he couldnt think of anything that would work. In the end he talked me into a steak sandwich. After quite a delay our meal started to come out. 3 of the 8 got their food first, in another few minutes 2 more got theirs and then no food was coming out. We all agreed those that had food should eat. Eventually 2 more came out after at least a 10 minute delay along with my tasteless steak sandwich that had no seasoning on it at all. If this was on the show Chopped whoever made it would have been chopped. It was so bland it didnt even taste like steak. But we were still missing a meal which it turns out hadnt been even started cooking yet. The manager finally got involved, and said he was going to comp for the meal that still wasnt there and the drink that was suggested that one of our party couldnt drink, and I asked for something to make my steak have some flavor. The manager said something about it should have had an Au Jus sauce which I said would be fine, but I ended up with steak sauce. Quite frankly the steak sauce didnt help and I dont think the Au Jus sauce would have either. The person who had the beverage issue also had to ask for dressing for her salad that was forgotten. I dont know where the blame falls on all of this, but I know the manager should have checked in with us again to see what our overall experience was and tried to make it better. I also know the kitchen staff was having a really bad day. Comping the meal that came after most of us were done eating and the drink that hadnt been drunk was one thing, but not making sure the over all experience of the evening ended on a high note was necessary and not completed. Only a couple of people said their meals were good, my husband also said his wasnt what he had hoped for and quite honestly I dont remember the last time I was served such a barely edible sandwich. Since this place has a high rating they obviously know how to do better and if you know how to do better you should do better. This evening did not turn out to be a celebration and was for many of us a waste of money. eexperience from

Poor service! If you like to spend your money with folks who do not care and treat you like it, dine here. We have been to Tavern 4&5 a total 3 times since they opened. And sadly, will not be back. On our first visit, they had just opened and service/ kitchen issues are expected as the kitchen and front of house staff hit their stride and learn to work together. Now several months in poor service is just unacceptable. Let me first say that I love Hazellwood in Tonka bay and have for years. The fact that Tavern 4&5 is under the same ownership made me eager and excited to try it especially since my family and I love in Eden Prairie. Now after three bad experiences I cannot recommend this place. Here’s why: Today we (family of 4) were seated after the lunch rush at about 1:40pm. We ordered 4 sodas, three burger entrées, and one special entree. 45 minutes later we were sipping on our 4th soda with no sign of food in sight. Neither our server nor management had any idea what was going on. When we asked our server to check on what was taking so long expecting her to know the answer in advance she replied, “I will go check.” Well, she never returned. At $12 a plate for a burger in a nice gastro pub, I expect more. I then had to flag down another server to ask for a manager, keep in mind the place is NEARLY EMPTY! The manger came out, did not apologize and simply stated, I am still trying to figure out what is happening with your ticket. Seriously? I put $10 on the table which he immediately should have handed back to me and told him we will take our business elsewhere.. Keep in mind my tone remained even and professional throughout and there was no acknowledgement of any issue, no apology and no offer to cover the 4 diet soda’s -If you like to spend your money with folks who do not care and treat you like it, dine here.

We live very close and have been quite a few times. Wed actually go more but its always so crowded for dinner and we cant have our kids waiting 25 minutes to get into a restaurant. They only take reservations for groups of 6 or more. The food is good. I dont think anyone of our group has ever complained in any of the trips weve been. Were particularly happy with the brunch. Also, if youre a vegetarian, the black bean burger is a great choice. Im not a vegetarian but I tried someone elses and was really impressed, especially with the tomato jam. Im not a big fan of the beer selection. Yes, there are quite a few beers, but for me many of them are boring. I dont hold this against them too much, though, as I think the selection would be fine for everyone except for beer snobs like me. Lots of spirits available. Prices are not cheap, but not outrageous. I was disappointed to learn that they dont have the Sunday NFL ticket. So while there are lots of TVs, if the Vikings game is on, dont hope to see the Packers. Lastly, service is always very friendly and helpful. Have never had the slightest complaint in that department.

The hostesses were nice enough and seated us right as we walked in, and the waitress was pretty knowledgable on the menu and also came by the table quite a few times to make sure we had everything we needed.....it would be a good bar... if it was just a bar, but the food is utterly terrible the pizza had NO sauce it seemed. I ordered the cowboy burger and they quoted it having "the best barbeque sauce" I quote it as "the worst barbeque sauce in the world, unless you like the taste of unclean anus thats been smoked for 8 years and then sprinkled with dirt" the the burger itself was mediocre at best I ordered it medium rare amd it came out medium well, the cheese was pretty much completely melted off and the bacon was burnt to all hell. The bun was so greasy I could feel my heart clogging. My friend ordered the el paso turkey burger and she couldnt even eat it it looked so un appetizing. The bottom bun was so soggy you couldnt even pick it up. All in all if youre going to get drunk its an ok place. If youre going for the food you should choose somewhere thay acctually has good food.
