Since I was a regular for years in New Hope, I thought I would check out the new and improved Sunshine Factory in Plymouth. Unfortunately, I wont be able to review their offerings as I never made it past the front door. To explain; I stopped in on New Years Eve about 7:00 pm. The place was understandably busy and there was no parking at the restaraunt so I parked in the strip mall parking lot, which in fact is where The Sunshine Factory is located, a mall parking lot. So, I entered a side door which is right off the bar. As I walked around the bar looking for an open spot, ( I was solo) I saw an empty stand up table for one just off the bar. Since it had a reserved sign on it, I continued to the hostess stand where I asked the hostess if I might have that spot. There were several groups waiting in the entry/lobby so there really was no room to wait there. I was told by the middle-age hostess that I needed to be on the "list" and that I could wait at the bar. When I told her I would love to but the bar was full and that none of the groups waiting would fit on the aforementioned table, she immediately copped an attitude and told me to leave. I told her that would be no problem and left. Having been a New Hope resident and semi regular for 25 years, I have seen this place slip in customer service over the years with the same tired staff from 1988. They have an attitude that theyre doing you a favor just to be let in the door or to get served. Also must note, this same hostess has been known to call the cops at the drop of a hat, so beware of any contentious verbal action as youll probably be pulled over on your way home.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! tried the factory one time after seeing an ad in the paper, and im hooked! ive never taken the time to write a positive review of a restaurant before, but this place is amazing. the BEST prime rib i have ever had in my life (and im somewhat of a connoisseur of fine meats). just make sure to either call ahead or show up early because apparently it sells out within hours most days. theyve also got some kind of deal where you end up getting a bottle of wine for half price, and you can cork the remainder (hint hint come on a sunday when the liquor stores are closed, leave with a half price bottle of wine!) theyve got a fancy dining side, a sports bar, and a sweet patio. tons of regulars, and with good reason. i try to stop by as often as i can now, and ive never had a bad experience. ive sat at the bar and been served by tony, or i ask to sit in heidis section (pretty brunette server, funny and friendly). theyve got a dozen or so tvs in the sports bar and theyll put your game on if you ask (lots of cute girls in there too, which is rare for a sports bar). the only downside is that the cops patrol 42nd pretty heavily, so be careful when you leave. the factory is my new favorite hangout in the NW!

What a joke. I dont know what the heck this place is trying to be, but what has achieved is ridiculousness. The interior feels like a bad attempt at being a TGI Fridays from the 90s. The service was horrible - our waitress was rude, slow, and didnt seem to care about her job one bit. The food was sub-par at best and inedible at worst. Our appetizer took forever and had obviously been sitting in the window for quite sometime judging by the temp of the platter, which means we had a lazy waitress because the place wasnt even busy. It was totally bland and boring. Our entrees came out right after the app, giving us virtually no time to eat the app. I mistakenly ordered the so called "Chicken Marsala" which was a sad attempt at the normally awesome Italian dish. My brother had a burger which came out charred despite his ordering of medium well. We had to wait 25 minutes to get our bill which the server impatiently hung around while we got out our cards, and then took a full 10 minutes to get it back to us. The bathrooms were filthy. I only went here because a co-worker recommended it (for some insane reason). Im sorry I ever bothered to go here.

Their bartender Tony , (who come to find out is also the bar manager) is Shady and unethical server. I heard him tell someone there that his goal when serving is to "wreck" people! This guy over charged me and two of my other friends one night there. When we questioned him on our tabs he walked away saying we were all to drunk to remember what we order when infact that was NOT the case and we knew exactly what we ordered. He threatned to call the cops if we didnt pay him! Just shocked sitting there we all agreed to just pay him and get out of this place & not to cause a scene. We later contact the Owner whom pulled one of the 3 bar tabs that was paid w/credit card which showed an unknown 25.00 charge just ONE of tabs alone. The Owner justified this by saying it was "just a mistake" and "bartender must have accidently combinded her tab with someone elses" and agreed to reverse the charge and credit the card. Each of the other 2 bar tabs that we paid for were we figured were roughly 25.00 over what they should have actually probably been or more. I would Stay away from this GUY!

Visited the restaurant based on a recommendation from family and took them up on it on a Thursday evening. We arrived and waited as the restaurant was pretty busy and looked nice on first glance. Crowded entrance and waiting area but eventually got seated. Had the chicken raspberry salad, and my wife had the walleye sandwich. The main dinning area was extremely loud. The music was loud, the tvs were also loud and therefor the people were. Either way the primary focus, the food. The raspberry chicken salad was terrible. The chicken was overdone and dry. In addition to greens and chicken, they put watermelon, pineapple, onions, and olives. It also comes with a roll. My wifes walleye was done well enough but the breading was very bland. Anyway, when the waiter asked us how it was I told him what I thought. There was no response except something to the effect of ok. My overall feeling was that I felt like a number or a bother rather than a guest. Would never treat someone like this in my house and will not recommend this to a friend or family.

If they want to open during the holidays, they should be prepared. Went in at 6 on a Saturday night - packed lot as it had been for the past week due to new bar in Plymouth!~ 4 bartenders, busy bar - walking around like there was no one there. At least 5 couples like us standing at bar with money in hand trying to get attention. One was walking around looking at the floor? hard to tell - one was pouring a drink - one at a time - for a crew that he clearly new. The other two...hard to tell. 12 minutes later - we had our drinks - mine was wrong even though SHE repeated it back to me. Food - we stayed due to the cold weather - it was "eh". The only thing they have going for them right now is the marked improvement in the facilities. THAT will not carry them alone in Plymouth. Many places have failed there due to service. PLEASE fix it before it s too late. OH and whats with the extra charges for things like a baked potato? WAY too many extra charges. Drive 2 miles and go to Jakes for NO extra charges for subss and lower menu prices on most things.
