What a great place! Im sorry that there are some who had less than a 5-star experience. How I dont know as the staff was welcoming and accommodating, to say nothing of great food! Maybe an off night? I cant imagine as our group had nothing but praise! Plus, its location off the train tracks (an old depot bldg.) added tons of atmosphere! Our motorcycle group rides there each year and we bring new folks each year. They set aside a big table for us and split checks, very accommodating! The food is simply stupendous, absolutely some of the best BBQ Ive ever had, with portions that may as well be all you can eat as they are huge, one entree is easily enough for two (and with a doggy bag too!). Go for the $19.99 combo, the bomb! Esther, is the general manager, and made time to talk with us, welcome us, and tell us about the building. Shes a peach! Also discussed which sauces we may like depending upon what we were eating and out palates (plus which beers would bring out which flavors!). Well, to each their own, of course but this place is tops in our books. Full recommendation. Top shelf! Thanks Esther and team!

We were out driving around east of KC and decided it was time for lunch. Looking in Chillicothe for high rated restaurants we came across Wabash. We navigated to the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised it was in a train depot! Im a huge train buff, and the name should have tipped me off to the heritage behind it, but it didnt click. The service was fantastic, prices were good and food was amazing! We didnt know we didnt know there is also a Wabash in Excelsior Springs, which happens to be way closer to our house, so well definitely be checking them out again.

Just off the main road I decided to give this place a try not knowing anything about it. I was glad I did. Good smoked foods at inexpensive prices, and I was pleasantly surprised to find they had Sam Adams on tap as well. The waitress was super friendly. I had the sandwich that was 1/3 pound and you choose two meats, I was glad I didnt try the 1/2 or 3/4 pound sandwiches as they would have been too much food (I have a decent-sized appetite). I spent $10 for the big sandwich and a pint of Sam Adams, well worth it.

We travel 36 often and are pleased to find a place to eat that is not "fast-food". The burnt ends are exactly what I expect them to be. The salad is just "bag" salad, but usually fresh. The wait staff has been attentive to my husbands allergies. We appreciate that very much. We ate there with friends, recently, and they reported that the catfish was very good. If you need a good bite while traveling on US36 in Missouri, Wabash BBQ is the place to stop.

I had the half rack of baby back ribs with potato salad and bbq beans. It was tasty and the meat did fall off the bone. Would I call the ribs "award winning" as they claim? Likely not but they were still tasty. The mashed potatoes were home made and I enjoyed them although they give you a small serving. Overall, if youre just looking for a place to grab a bite, this is a decent stop in town.

The place was full when we got there but there was still a table. Our server was polite and right there before we had a chance to sit down. He took our drink order and we looked over the menu since this was our first visit we took a few minutes. I choose the burnt ends and my date had the tenderloin. Also had some fried pickles. Everything was very good and we will return.

Stopped in at 8:30PM on a thursday night. Ordered a brisket sandwich with fries, the sandwich was huge, tons of meat, with a very nice smoke ring on the sliced brisket. Tender and juicy, it was very tasty! Sam Adams on tap! Worth finding just off the main strip through town. The building is an old train station which is well taken care of.

5 stars even though I didnt like their brisket (too dry). Ribs were the best Ive had and Im a BBQ snob. Pulled pork was right up there with the best. I dont usually eat ham or turkey at a BBQ joint, but they were on the big platter and both were OUTSTANDING! BTW, the big $20 platter could have fed my whole family.

A co worker and I went last night. First time in the town and the BBQ was excellent. We have traveled all over North Carolina, Memphis, and Texas. This place is right near the top. The sauce is fantastic. Very cool decor in an old train station. Great staff! Great food! Cold Beer!

We have been here before. The food is very good. The service this visit was terrible. One young man waited on us after a female started to wait on us and couldnt seem to get it together. The guy was good, but there was no way he could handle the whole room by himself.

Awesome location in an old train depot. I had a smoked half chicken and BBQ sauce is on the side, add as much as you want. Full bar with regional draft beers. Our young server was sweet and she knew the history of all the murals painted throughout the town.

Shitty service. Waited 15 minutes to order drinks. Another 10 minutes to get them. We ordered our food at the same time and waited 45 minutes. Then my meat was cold. However the manager Ester was awesome. She gave me fresh food to go and did not charge us.

Great service, not so great food. 4 star service, 2 star food. I had catfish which was very "mealy ", no texture, like eating oatmeal deep fried with corneal breading. Great french fries though.

Delicious fried pickles. Beef brisket was very dry, even after I added bbq sauce. Lettuce in fairly plain side salad was starting to brown but tasted alright. Service was fast and friendly.

Got the brisket and it was so dry I had to put half the bottle of BBQ on it. The BBQ sauce is very generic and the fries are dry as well. Fine service but very mediocre food.

I had the half-rack of baby back ribs along with potato salad & baked beans. Everything was excellent including the service. Probably the best ribs Ive ever eaten!
