The Kendalls tavern & chophouse was just over 2 weeks since it first opened and I thought I would give it a shot with some friends. the atmosphere was rather nice, cozy and had kind of a north woods feel to it. Since we were there for lunch we only got to pick from the lunch menu, and of course not their best chefs. i ordered a burger, and asked for it with out the caramelized onions, which were on my burger, which was a bit dry sadly. however, they used a smoked gouda on it with nice and crispy thick cut bacon which gave the burger a nice smokey taste. My friends were rather disappointed in their meals, they had gotten another burger which was meant to have a whiskey glaze, which was a little lacking, as well as over cooked. with all that, the staff picked up that we were not super satisfied and they explained that they were training a new chef. The manager came over and she was polite but stern about wanting to know what everything that was wrong with our meals so she could help the chef be aware of his mistake. we were informed that the burgers should be cooked to a nice medium (the menu said "awesome"), and then for our trouble, she let us pick deserts to try which are made in house as is 90% of what they make (said the manager during out conversation). I got a cheese cake which was a little frozen, but tasted fresh and could have used a little more thaw... so over all, it wasnt the worst food I have ever had, but it certainly wasnt the best, and I will have to try them again once they have a few more weeks under their belt. I look forward to giving this place another star.

Been here a few times. Service is great and food is good. Avoid coming during league time as the golfers take all the restaurant parking and you have to park on the back nine. Maybe they should run the beverage car back there to shuttle the restaurant patrons to and from their vehicles.
