Man, I dont get the high ratings for this place. I walk in (summertime) and there were no customers. There was no AC or it was barely on while 85 out. Three of the five tables hadnt been cleaned off i.e. styro cups, food baskets, used napkins, opened soda bottles and there was visible bits of food under one of the tables. Makes you wonder when its dead and they cant take the time to clear/clean the tables how aware (or oblivious) they are to healthy food prep standards. Bad first impression. Also the menu was not very easy to undestand for those that dont speak Spanish. Same goes for the lady that took my order. Ordered two tacos which, as another reviewer said, the salsa was too salty and not much else for flavor. Also tried some chicken w/ mole which wasnt very good and yes Ive had mole before. Another thing is I watched the lady start to clean the tables after placing my order and then switch back to helping w/putting together my order and no hand washing between the two. I forsee some Oakland Co Health Dept violations in the future. Wont be going back.

This is a fantastic and inexpensive little restaurant. The service is good and the food is fresh and delicious. The salsa they bring to your table has a bright flavor with just the right kick and the chips are homemade and crisp without being greasy. I always get tinga (shredded chicken) tacos, which are amazing. Tonight, Im trying the carnitas burrito. I can see them preparing it I the grill. Its huge. The fried pork is nicely caramelized and just a little spicy from the salsa. Theres plenty of rice and beans and just enough cheese. They balance the ingredients nicely. My wife ordered the shrimp tacos, and enjoyed them a lot. And while I highly recommend the burrito, I still prefer the tacos.

My friend and I pass by this place all the time and finally stopped in for his birthday and out of curiosity. It certainly did not disappoint. Every time I go to a restaurant I ask the waiter/waitress what I need to have if I never come back again and she said the asada tacos and it did not disappoint. Best taco I ever remember having in my life, highly recommend. The salsa had some zing which made me keep going back for more (very good). The place is small and was packed but I thought that created a cool ambiance. Strongly recommend, my friend and I will put this in our rotation for at least once a month.

Had the tilapia tacos with a tamarind-flavored Jarritos pop. Everything tasted excellent; the salsa and the sauce on the tacos were both quite spicy but full of flavor. The handmade soft tortillas used on the tacos were tasty and held up well. Service was prompt and attentive. Decor is a bit lacking, but the food more than makes up for it. You definitely have to try this place at least once.

Today I happened to be in the neighborhood for the first time during business hours, ordered two carne asada tacos, rice and beans. The tacos were top-notch traditional style on a substantial, handmade, fresh tortilla, super tasty corn. Delicious meat. Wow. The radish garnish is a nice touch. If they were only open past 6pm Id stop there every week!

This place has one of the best burritos Ive ever had, the Tinga Burrito. The chips and salsa are alright, the chips arent salted enough but the burrito alone makes up for it. This place has the most amazing burritos, honestly. Everyone Ive taken here has loved them, I will update this review once I try the tacos!

I have been going to this restaurant since they opened, but today I went there and I was surprised that they charged for spicy salsa/hot sauce only regular tomato salsa is free.. Isnt it weird?? .. we can get all kind of sauces and refill as much as we want at Carnival , Las Tortugas Taqueria , Baja Fresh

I never leave reviews but this place deserves one. The tacos are legit. Fresh (like watch them get pressed) corn tortillas. Marinated pork tacos get two thumbs up. Best mexican style tacos since last time I hit a taco truck in mexican village Detroit. Beware though. Meats are spicy.. And awesome!

Just went there for Lunch, one of the best burritos I have ever had some of my friends had the tacos and they were amazing. The Chips and Salsa were great. I go downtown to some of the authentic Mexican restaurants, but this one hands down was the best I have had.

Great food, including some dishes you dont find at other Mexican restaurants. Everything was fresh and prepared to order. Service was friendly and competent. The place has zero ambiance, though. Not a date spot, but fine for families or a quick meal.

Great food. Quiet tiny place. Tacos with your choice of meats - I had shredded beef and my son had cow tongue. Que rico! Hand-made thick-corn tortillas. Served with cilantro and onions and the salsas- hot and normal are so good they are drinkable.

The tacos were very good. I like the tortilla which has proper fat in it. I tried tinga, beef and tilapia tacos. They are seasoned and tasteful. All my family liked them. Even my wife who is not a fan of Mexican food liked the tacos.

The burritos are way better then chipotle or qdoba, so tasty, flavorful and a huge portion for the price. The beef burrito is the best burrito I EVER tasted. Definitely recommend this place for anyone who loves authentic Mexican food.

Food was ok, but chorizo had little to much clavo and pastor too, not really the authentic flavor, place is clean and service is friendly, we had tortas and the milanesa de pollo was good.

Burritos are amazing. Brought out of town friends from Arizona and Texas and they all said it is by far the best Mexican food they have had. Love this place!

Limited menu which allows for everything to be done well. One of the only place to serve beef tongue and its cooked just right! Try this place out.

The food is good quality. The tortillas are handmade. The tacos are excellent. Definitely the best authentic Mexican restuarant in Troy.

Great simple authentic meal. A must for those wanting a real world Mexican. Needing gluten free meals, I had no issues.
