Great service, food not so much. We came here for our our anniversary and expected great service and excellent food. The service was fantastic. She was there when we needed her but not too often, was funny and polite. She gave us recommendations for night life after dinner, which we loved. The food was unfortunately really not good. Our appetizer (calamari) was served with cocktail sauce and also happened to be rubbery. Seriously, what kind of up-scale restaurant serves cocktail sauce with calamari? It tasted like ketchup. We were expecting a little more thought, I suppose, into a simple dip/sauce. The soup and salad was delicious, fresh and lovely. But the main courses were really, really over cooked and the sides were awful. Salmon had a great topping of capers, tomatoes and feta, but the fish was terribly over cooked. The duck had an excellent raspberry sauce but was ridiculously dry. The sides for the dinners were actually cooked just right, but it was literally roasted potatoes with zero seasoning, roasted sweet potatoes with zero seasoning and asparagus with zero seasoning. Bizarre. Boring. Completely forgettable. The wine list was tiny and unimpressive, we tried three different wines around the $50 price range, a tempranillo, a chenin blanc, and a malbec and none of them were either interesting or worth the price.

Best place to eat in Saugatuck. Great food. Friendly owners and staff. Quiet environment especially if you eat in the enclosed patio in the back. I sell real estate in Saugatuck and this is where I send my clients. If you want hooping and hollering and not being able to hear what anyone says, this is NOT the place for you. If you want quiet, elegant ambiance with delicious food and a relaxing experience, THIS IS IT. Dee Dee Hanson

I love this restaurant. Not only is it my favorite restaurant in Saugatuck, its my favorite in Southwestern Michigan. I love the chicken marsala -- made with a fine marsala sauce that includes fresh mushrooms. Richard is the greatest waiter, if you can get him. Everyone loves Richars.

The Duck was Not dry. It is much better than chicken. At another r. I had it, a few years ago, dry. I thought I would give it a chance. Very glad I did. My wife had the walleye. very nice.
