This restaurant should be grateful to get two stars and the only reason it does is because of the decor and half of our order. We have been here twice. The first time was for lunch. The restaurant wasnt open yet but everything was open and unlocked. We had to stand around for about twenty minutes. We eventually sat outside and gave our order to the waiter/bartender. The kitchen lost or never received our ticket and no one noticed for about half an hour. When we finally got our food. I did not have the right side item but the chicken salad wrap was good. My husband and my father liked their food. They comped two of the three meals. The second time my husband and I came for dinner. I ordered the salmon with risotto and my husband ordered the southwestern chicken. He and I loved his meal and my salmon was mediocre because of lack of flavor or seasoning of any kind. It again, took about 30 minutes for our food but the wait was okay for dinner. This restaurant has a great idea but they will close down in less than five years if the management and staff remain. The manager is so extremely unprofessional its ridiculous. It doesnt matter if you work in the kitchen, if you are a manager you should still look clean and professional when you have to walk out to the floor and interact with guests. You should never make and angry guest wait and you should never speak to them with sarcasm. If you have to spend so much time in the kitchen cooking the food, you are not training your kitchen staff well enough to stand on their own. Which would explain the wait and barely warm food. When my husband, father and I had lunch, the bartender was eating biscuits and gravy in front of us while we waited over 45 minutes for our food. If they find it acceptable to eat in front of guests, I can guarantee you the kitchen staff eats off of the line. Im not sure if there is any sort of dress code but it is not being enforced. The hostess was wearing leggings and house shoes. She looked like she came to work to take a nap. All of the servers looked unprofessional and Im not sure if they were ever taught manners or received any training on how to speak to guests. It is more like a hangout and less like a restaurant. Im willing to bet the staff drinks the alcohol on the clock, and gives alcohol away for free. Not to mention the food comps for mistakes and wait time. I heard there were two owners and now there is only one. Its a shame their money is being wasted like this. Its a great design, perfect location, and a great idea but it wont last. You either got into the restaurant business without knowing how to run it, or you dont care about throwing money away. You need to hire new staff and a couple of managers who have experience and understand how the business runs. Good luck!

I want to point out, as another reviewer did, that this place has undergone major transformations in management and the kitchen and you need to give it a second chance! Sooo worth it. I will point out that I dont go out to eat often because I have such high standards for food that I get let down often. Ate here last Friday 2/19 with my mom for dinner around 5:30. We arrived to a fairly empty restaurant and were seated promptly by the hostess. Before we even sat down, I changed my mind where I wanted to sit and she accommodated it just fine but seemed slightly annoyed by this. I realize certain sections might not have been open or had a server assigned and if that was the case, she could have said that and sat us elsewhere. Not a deal breaker, but cheer up buttercup. Beautiful views of the lake from most seats in the place. Right before we left, a guitar playing singing man started which was awesome. I wanted to stay but mama was ready to head out. Anyway, our server was great (cant remember her name, but she was a younger red head), she was training someone and she was a great example for him. We ordered the nachos for an appetizer and holy cow let me just tell you, those are the best nachos Ive ever ordered in a restaurant. Instead of dry shredded cheese, they use what seemed to be some sort of real cheese sauce. Man oh man was it delicious. Couldve went a little bit lighter on the BBQ sauce but not a major issue. I hate when I get nachos and theres tons of chips left over with no toppings; that was NOT the case here. We ordered the black and blue burger, medium, with sweet potato fries. Had we known the nachos were going to be so filling, we wouldve totally skipped this. I ended up taking over half it home. The burger was absolutely delicious. Instead of just blue cheese crumbles, it seemed like a blue cheese sauce. Amazing! Caramelized onions. Perfectly cooked burger. It was just delicious. The sweet potato fries were some of the best Ive ever had. They were cut and cooked evenly and seasoned perfectly. It all came out hot which unfortunately rarely seems to happen when I go out to eat. $4 import beers on Friday to top it all off. Couldnt be happier with this place, Ive been ranting and raving to everyone since I left. Please keep it up, I will be returning many times and bringing people along!

I have been trying to talk my husband into trying the Lazy Frogg since it opened, but the reviews have been inconsistent with service and the quality of the food. The start of a staycation for me and I talked my husband into trying it as it is close by and on the water. We were seated promptly on the deck at 4:18 pm and Im thinking wow, were going to be one of the customers that get great service, but that was the last of prompt. 15 minutes later, no one had waited on us. So an additional 5 minutes later a woman asked if we had been served and offered to get water and find out who our server was. Not take a drink order, but get us water. It was not crazy busy at all and people around us were getting waited on. Then 5 minutes later our waiter arrived and had waited not only on one, but two other people who were seated after us. He apologized and shared he was helping in the bar. Interesting as when my husband had arrived, no one was in the inside bar... 5 minutes later our drinks came. My husband had ordered a Long Island Tea that was salt rimmed and no cola added. Drink replaced 5 minutes later and now onto the food order at 5:14pm. We ordered frog legs, shrimp cocktail, the fish and chips, and the wedge salad. The frog legs and shrimp cocktail arrived at 5 :42pm. Both were very tasty, then within 10 minutes the fish and chips and wedge salad arrived. Again, the food was tasty with the wedge being the best wedge Ive ever had. While the food was tasty, taking over 40 minutes for our drinks and over a hour to get our food on a non busy late afternoon early evening just doesnt offset the food or cost to give Lazy Frogg another opportunity to underwhelm.
