We went to dine there for mothers day. When we arrived there was a 40 minute wait for a table. Understandable for mothers day weekend. We had a table of 6 adults and 2 children and a baby. Needed seating for 8 and a highchair. So a wait wasnt out of the question. While we waited there was a huge misunderstanding about our seating. They kept asking how many and if we needed a highchair. So when we finally get to our table its a plastic fold out table with a paper table cloth with 7 seats and a high chair. That had been wedged in front of the help entrance to the kitchen we were treated to a great view of the dish washing. The server that took us back there rolled her eyes when we said we needed another seat saying I asked you how many. The server rolled her eyes while taking our order because we hadnt decided on appetizers 2 minutes after sitting down. My nephew was being a grouch and didnt want to socialize our server didnt get the hint that tickling him wouldnt help. After our main order was taken she asked me how we would like to do the bill. I told her I needed to discuss that with my brother in law quietly I was wanting to treat everyone for mothers day. He likes to pay. So instead she ignored me and hollered across the table how would you like the bill. Our entrees arrived and shes passing food over the heads of the people behind thats how close we were packed in there. Naturally she asks if we need anything else and ignores my hand for hot sauce. We finish eating and she comes with the bill I motioned her for the bill she nodded and proceed to ask who wants this and hands it to my brother in law. Were finishing up and the bus boy is over in the adjacent booth chilling waiting for us to go. Pounding his hands on the table and everything. While were still finishing up this lady who Ill assume is a floor manager or senior wait staff, someone. Keeps hovering over our table checking the dishes. If they were so concerned with the dishes they could of taken the stack of dirty dishes. As you can see their 1 start was well earned. The service was absolutely abysmal. My family will not be eating at a grindstone Charleys again. I expected better their reviews on TripAdvisor made them sound great. They arent.

Used to be our go to place. We went because they made our favorites consistently - especially steak. Those days appear to be over. Today was the last straw, the combination of inedible food and the most surly waitress was just too much. If the food had been good we could overlook the waitresss prickly manner and inattentiveness. However, the $20 8oz steak had the texture of damp string and chewed about the same. Though it was cooked a perfect medium, the steak and the plate underneath had absolutely no juice. The replacement was no better. They both had the mealy texture of cheap tenderized meat without the benefit of actually being tender. In the last year or so while the prices have crept up, the quality and service have gone down. In that time, we have been served raw hamburger, under cooked steaks, over cooked steaks and tough ribs. To their credit they always apologized and offered to remake/replace or take the item off the bill. If these had been rare occurrences that would be one thing. Unfortunately something like this happens every time now. After giving them a years worth of second chances Im sad to say we are done.

2/17/11 This is one top notch restaurant! The baby back ribs are so tender the meat literally falls off the bones. The mozz. sticks and stuffed mushrooms are wonderfully portioned. Our beverages never went dry. We always had a refill waiting and it didnt matter if it was coffee, soda or beer. The four of us ordered something different and thoroughly enjoyed our selections. We read the menu online and decided it was worth a try. We drove 37 miles one way just to try something different and new. This was our first time there and we were very impressed. Dont get discouraged if you see a full parking lot, our wait time was only five minutes. It only means the food is excellent. We will be back. Keep up the good work! Jim Jackson

My family and I visited Grindstones for lunch. Everything was fine until our waitress gave my mom her food. The side was incorrect. My mom pointed this out, and the waitress made it sound like my mom didnt tell her what she wanted. Then goes on to say "Im real easy to get along with, but you have to tell me what you want," with an attitude. What happened to customer service? This waitress could have just said sorry about that and corrected the order. Not impressed at all with this place.

Food is good but service is poor on a good day. Went there a few different times last time was with our church group and the waitress took our order. Then when it came time everybody got there food but my wife and I, she forgot to put it in..."oops"...other problems are getting cold food, taking a long time to get your check. Find somewhere else to eat!

very decent. decent atmosphere & decent food (although i would reconsider your rice bed). our waiter seemed a bit rushed & was openly pushing for us to spend more money (they have to make a living too right?). he didnt know much about the beers (specialty beers, theres so many amirite) but overall pleasant night.

I had a absolutely amazing lunch. The service made a nice meal a killer time. Prompt enthusiastic friendly + charming witty helpful genuine ... With a nack for checking on us at the perfect time. I wish I had her name to give proper thanks. I hope my tip was found to be generous. You deserved it.

Excellent food and service a little pricey but the food was so amazing and portion sizes were huge it was well worth the price I will definitely come back soon probably every weekend soooo much better than Applebees which was my weekend choice until now

Absolutely LOVE this place!! My husband and I always get Prime Rib, and ALWAYS get fried green tomatoes, which are the bomb!! Love the atmosphere, and service of seating and food doesnt take long!! Highly recommend this place to everyone!!

I love everyone within ... Good home cooked meals! Always coupons in the TV week Im the Kokomo Tribune that saves us $5. Lunch menu as low as $5.99. I love the fried green tomatoes
