First time coming here and my husband and I had a WONDERFUL experience! We are locals but for some reason we had still not been here until now. I think they said they had been open about a year and a half. They were really busy for a Wednesday night, but that didnt stop them from greeting us promptly. The "rules" sign by the front door said seat yourself, so we found a spot at one of the tables. I should note that before we went, we were reading reviews and noticed that a few people have have complained about the service here being off, but that was not our experience at all. Judging by how busy they were on a random weeknight, we figure the place must be at least somewhat consistent or else people wouldnt go, right?? Anyway, onto the goods. First up: BEER! Excellent selection. I think when we came there were 14 or 15 beers on tap. We tried a flight and all of them were tasty and unique in their own right. We were told they rotate a lot and if we come back in a week it would probably be different. I like the variety! We tried 8 of them and between my husband and I we liked every single one of them. He is a pretty hardcore craft drinker and loved their IPAs too. I suppose with that much variety there would inevitably be something one of us didnt like, but everything we had was great and it seemed like there would be something for everyone here. We were also told that they did not serve cider or wine, but if you wanted to bring it in that was allowed. Food: what a lovely surprise! The food was awesome! My husband had the cuban sandwich and said it was the best hed ever had. I had the mac and cheese and it was creamy and delicious. We frequently go to brewpubs when we travel and we know the food is not always great. However, the food at this place is awesome. Ambiance: warm, friendly, kind of has an "up north" vibe to it. They have a really pretty chandelier in the front and the tap wall looks gorgeous and is decorated with pallet wood. Brewing pots are on the opposite wall and you definitely feel like youre in a brewery being here (whatever that means? hah). Overall: we both agreed at the end of the night that we have missed out not trying this place sooner. Its fun to relax and try new beers, and the staff are friendly and helpful. We will be definitely be coming back and my husband is already thinking about getting a mug club membership!

We like the beer. Could be a bit colder. We have had the food in the past and enjoyed it. The staff isnt as friendly as we would like. We asked for happy hour specials and had to pull words and answers from the bar tender as he seemed uninterested in our questions. We havent been in since they first opened so we wanted to try a few beers without ordering a full flight and we were told we could only have 2 samples. So after two samples we ordered, but then we didnt order a second beer because we couldnt have another sample and we didnt want to order blindly nor did we care to order a flight. The staff is all standing behind the bar talking to each other. Not to the customers. For that reason, we gave low stars. Part of going out and sitting at the bar is for that interaction, and gaining knowledge of the beers and food. With a staff giving short one word answers, thats not helping. Also, a waiter (Evan) while standing behind the bar changed a bandaid on his finger, then dressed his wound with electrical tape, didnt wash his hands, asked us if we needed anything else, then went to serve a table some food. Thats when we left.

Nice place, Good location, Good beers. I like my beers, I not on beer blogs and I dont trade rare bottles online but I know good beer when I taste it. This place is solid. Stopped in with a friend for lunch and sampled 6 different beers. I liked almost all of them. I am not going to try and tell you what you should and should not get. That is why they have $2 short pours so you can spend two bucks and figure it out for yourself. If you are in to Gose beers they had two on tap when I was there. Some other Goses are too sour for me but I felt like these were mild and very drinkable. I was not blown away by the food but it was solid. I will be back to try something different. I would love to see some sort of a Mug Club. I have been itching for place to get a mug and this is just about close enough that it would make sense. Keep up the good work!

Excellent beer selection. I really enjoyed the cherry beer as it was very subtle and refreshing. Nice menu as well with a nice variation to make any group happy. I got the Cuban which was a bit dry. However service was absolutely terrible. Waited 10min to be seated and even then it was because we just found a table and sat ourselves. Then, waited quite some time to try to flag down a server to just get some water. Ended up having to put our own drink order in and find our own menus. 1/2 hour with no service. Finally when they brought our beer they took our order. They brought some chips while we waited for our food, which was considerate. Table next to us expressed a similar story as ours. I dont judge fully on a first visit so Ill give them a 2nd chance (hence 3 stars vs 1 or 2).

The hazlenut sauce on the angelic fran left a strange after taste. The pretzel rarebit was soggy like it had been baked then microwaved to melt the cheeze. The bomdiggity was ok, the house sauce was a little strange but the bacon was really good. The squash soup was good but the last few bites had excessive peppercorn? The beer was good, extremely supreme bears was good. The brown and was darker than expected but quite good. Id give it another try, maybe my food choices were a bad match for me. My company had the ninja pig and quite enjoyed the sandwich. Service was prompt and polite.

Im probably biased because I live in Novi, but I love Ascension Brewing Co. For a smaller brewery, they have a shocking number of great-tasting beers served by a very passionate and knowledgeable staff. They have a great selection of unique foods that you wont find anywhere else. Seating is typically long wooden picnic tables, encouraging interaction between patrons. Honestly, the only complaint Ive heard is that they only serve beer and cans of pop for non-alcoholic drinkers. Dont visit if you only drink wine, but otherwise youre missing out.

The food is fantastic and locally sourced. Vegan friendly (not all of it, just some). Meat eaters will be happy too. The beer is the gold star for this place. Frequently rotating taps and I havent had a bad one yet. Bring your growler or they can pour into a "Crowler" can too. Atmosphere is fun and there was live music as well. Outside (covered) deck seating was fantastic with good weather. Do yourself a favor and give this place a visit.
