We looked up the restaurant here to see the reviews and saw how low it was rated, but went for various reasons, promising to add our own reviews afterward. We arrived and sat for 20 minutes. Eventually a waitress, whose name I did not get, came up to us concerned that we had not been waited on. She was the highlight of the stop. An excellent waitress in every way. She first tried to get our waitress to serve us. Then, when this was to no avail, she began serving us herself. Our assigned waitress did come and try to take the table later but luckily we were not handed off. I do not know whether it is truly a conscious decision, or merely coincidence, or the limited sample of our side of the restaurant, but the waitresses are all large-chested blonds. Along with the excellent service, our waitress wore a shirt under her uniform shirt so as to have a modicum of modesty, the uniforms dipping so low at the neck as to barely qualify as shirts. The two for one burger deal was good although it included the stipulation that a drink be bought for every burger. This would not be a problem if the cheap tap beer were not $4 for a small glass. We were asked how we wanted the burgers done, which surprised me in this era of food safety. However, there seemed to be no relationship between the answer and the burger since mine was a medium without a hint of pink. The burger was fine except that the frenchs-onions style topping was old and stale. The burgers are served with homemade chips which had the chewiness usually attained by being left in the fridge for a day. We had an appetizer of sweet-potato fries which were fine albeit cold, but served in one of those cone containers usually reserved to hide how few really are present. The $5 appetizer was a single serving. After hearing how cold and stale our food was, you may think we were there at 2 am, but we actually arrived at 7pm. Value: The burger deal was nice although restricted. The drinks and fries were over-priced. Food quality: Low. The food would not have been bad, had we been served it yesterday when it was fresh. Service: Our excellent waitress is canceled by the incompetent person she was filling in for. My Recommendation to the restaurant: hire workers for ability, not to try to be a psuedo-Hooters and serve deep-fried items the same day you make them. Buy some Lays potato chips if you cannot. Also, make our waitress your general manager. My Recommendation to possible patrons: go elsewhere, but if you end up here, look for someone wearing a whole shirt rather than merely half and do not order any deep-fried products.

We live really close to the Grand Tavern and wanted to give it a try since we just moved out of state. What a mistake! We arrived before the dinner rush and the place was pretty empty except for a few people. There was only one waitress working. It took her 20 minutes just to get our drink order(Bad Indication). We finally ordered our meal and appetizer. Took 30 minutes for our appetizer to come out and it was cold. To top it off 4 minutes later our meals came out. That is a bad sign when you cant even time the meals properly. The potato chips that came with the meal seemed like they were made last week. The waitress finally got help when other servers came in, however they all just stood around and did nothing. We needed our drinks refilled for 20 minutes, by the time someone came around we were finished with our meals. Overall, the food was really bad and the service was TERRIBLE.

The latest reviews must be from the restaurant itself in an effort to cover up how AWFUL this place is. The service is slow and they dont seem to ever be in any sort of rush. The waitresses could not be ruder, she didnt acknowledge us for almost ten minutes. They run promotions and send coupons, but they wont combine them, well then why advertise them together? The managers are either dumb or scared because they wont do anything. Did I mention how bad the service is? They also committed one of the biggest restaurant fouls by bringing out my appetizer and entree maybe two minutes apart, which is most likely to be blamed on the incompetent waitstaff. The food is so-so at best, and is not worth it when you have to put up with this kind of service. We will never go back.

Really good spot to eat, the food was top notch and made from scratch. I had an excellent burger and onion rings (huge amount cooked to perfection, clean bites no pull onion out of batter here). The boom boom sauce is really good, ask for a side of it. We had the pot stickers as an appetizer and the dipping sauce was spot on. They have craft beer from Farmington Brewing Company that was great. My wife had the Cuban sandwich and the pork was actually marinated in a mojo. My only tiny irk was the service, it was Sunday afternoon and the waitstaff was busting their humps, but they could have used more support. The food quality more than made up for it, I still left 20% because they were doing the best they could. I will definitely be going here again. Nice job Grand Tavern!

Grand Tavern is completely anti-customer. They refuse to allow coupon usage along with ANY happy hour specials, even though they advertise these things together. The staff is completely oblivious to pricing and not at all knowledgeable about what is on the menu. I purchased 2 identical drinks during happy hour. I got my bill and one was $5.50, while the other was $6. They couldnt figure out why this happened and they refused to change it. After having a conversation with the ineffectual manager, I asked our server for the name of the owner. She said, Mike something. She had no clue about his last name. Well, Mike something, your restaurant is a disgrace. This was the most appalling food service experience Ive had in years.

BEST PLACE IN FARMINGTON to catch the game! Prices are on the lower-to-comparable end of all restuarants in Farmington-area. Drink specials ara common and selection has never been lacking. We have never had a problem with the service and the bartenders know their stuff. We watched the last UofM-msu game and the Tigers Game 5 against Yankees at this establishment, the environment was second to none. As for Vegetarian entrees, although the options are limited, they are the BEST Ive had at a sports bar. The portabella mushroom burger and goat-cheese quesadillas are very satisfying.

Great local atmosphere, awesome chicken quesadilla. Best in Detroit metro area. I have tried basically everything on the menu and everything is good. If youre picky about your (fish & Chips) aka fish fry, like I am coming from Wisconsin. Its your standard Michigan fish dinner.. but it shouldnt kill their credibility. Cheese curds are good, and burgers/sandwiches are on point. You wont be disappointed. Great happy hour specials, not to mention very friendly staff!! All day A++++

Nothing stands out or is outstanding. This is was my second visit.Waitress gave good service but was not overly personable. The blue cheese does not even taste like blue cheese, in fact it has no flavor at all. Had a gift card, very happy about that. I dont like paying $65 for overall, just marginal food. This place in NOT a destination, but a place you just happen to end up because you dont know any better.
