The atmosphere was wonderful but I cannot condone the treatment we received nor the quality of my food. We were treated as though we were poor kids unwelcome here. Our waitress never asked us how things were or if she could get us anything -- she came to the table a bare minimum. The appetizer we had was pretty good -- spinach and artichoke dip -- but the amount was quite small and the chips were GFS quality at best. Not worth the price. My blue cheese salad was, again, low quality. Their dressings were not good, the egg was way over cooked, the croutons were worse quality than at a school salad bar. The fish my husband had was good but the crust was nothing special and the fries were bland. All this for a $40 meal? Not good, not worth the stop. Try elsewhere.

When we entered at 3 PM (not crowded), we were told they would be right with us, but we still waited too long, given the empty tables around us. When we were being seated, we noticed she did not clean the table after the prior patron. I asked if she would please wipe down the table. Her response was, "he only had water- its wiped." Gross! And, I dont care how clean she thought it was-if a customer asks to clean their table, just do it! She never did clean it. We ordered 2 Moscow Mules-now, we are not ones to complain about too much booze, but these drinks were nearly 100% vodka. The breadsticks with garlic/cheddar spread were killer. Our waitress was adequate, but certainly not overly friendly. Not sure if we will return-certainly not this trip.

My wife and I loved to go there for Friday fish fry. The whitefish was the best! All you can eat, good sized portions, the fish was never over cooked. Now the fish is a dark brown obviously because the frying oil is old, it isnt all you can eat anymore you have to pay extra for extra pieces, it is about $2 more than it used to be for a dinner and the pieces of fish shrunk considerably! The beer is great, but it is the most expensive growler youll buy anywhere. And I have growlers from all over (About 15 different microbrews). Unfortunately we wont go back because the fish isnt what it used to be and the beer is too pricey. Sorry Terry and Kristie.

It smells foul upon entering. My fiancé and I went there for lunch. We were the only patrons there and still had to wait 15 minutes for a waitress/hostess to show up. The views of the harbor and marina at the back are completely ruined by the nasty stench of stale alcohol and greasy food. It literally smells like a greasy spoon diner, complete with cigarette smoke and ground-in spilled beer on the carpets. The booth springs were broken and digging into my buttocks. We didnt even order since we waited another 15 minutes for her return and decided to leave instead. If you smoke and drink a lot, this is your place.

My son goes to NMU and I have eatten at Vierlings when we go up for a visit, I am use to great food from the start and that is the bread and salad both of which are the weak points at The Vierlings, We asked for bread and it was not even as good as the bread form the local store, I was expecting warm fresh bread and we received a basket with so so bread, we did not even eat all of it and the salad was lettuce with an onion and pepper slice nit my type of salad. I will say the food has been good not great but good enough to go there again. Hopefully theu will read this and work on improving the fare.

We had dinner here on a Monday night. I had made reservations that morning, which was a good thing as the restaurant was crowded. Initial service was prompt and overall our waitress was excellent. However, the kitchen must have been backed up as it took 45 minutes for our entrees to come, including my daughters childs meal which should have come shortly after our salads. The whitefish was very good and worth the wait. The green beans, on the other hand, were tough and unappetizing. Averaging this all out comes to a 4.

My girlfriend and I made reservations and had arrived early. I told the host I might go to Black Rocks to have a beer, he then asked which kind of beer I would get. He came out to the sidewalk bench where we waited with a full coffee mug of my preference. The breadsticks were a great starter. I had the filet mignon for the main course and it was cooked perfectly. The waitress was quick and seemed eager to keep us happy. The blueberry beers are a treat if you cherish a tasty brew.

Went there on a busy Saturday night, and they were beyond accommodating. Enjoyed their craft beer immensely, and my party all had different fish dishes. We were all very pleased with our food. If we were staying around longer in the Marquette area other than just the one night, I would most definitely go back there. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was great as well. The service was also top notch. I rarely write reviews, but to me, this place is more than deserving of one.

I came in alone and was told by the hostess it would be a 45 min. Wait for a table. There was no one waiting. Did I want to sit at the bar? I dont feel comfortable seated at the bar, but accepted. As I did not want to wait 45 min. Meanwhile, she seated a couple at the bar and within 10 min. Took them to a table. I was never offered a table. I felt very discriminated against. There are lots of good restaurants in marquette. Next time I will go to a different one.

Nice setting right near the water. Everyone else in my party liked their food, but I was very disappointed. I ordered the buffalo chicken panini and it came out cold. When I asked a waitress to put it back on the grill she just microwaved it. However, she took it off my bill so I was not that unhappy overall. For beer we ordered a flight. Everything was okay, but really the only things I liked were the IPAs. Everything else left me flat.

Everything just seemed to lack flavor. I had the GYRO and my wife had a wrap... best thing on either plate was the fries. Might be a place to stop if you need a quick decent meal but nothing special. Also tried a coffee/pilsner brew...tasted bla... Was looking for a quality/tasty meal... overall was disappointed. The food was fine... ditto with price... service was good and fast. Final cost after tip...under $20.

The fried cod was incredible. Encased in a crunchy and tasty batter, the cod just fell apart as it was cooked to perfection. The dill tarter sauce was a tasty compliment to the fish. The beer was vibrant and wonderful. The staff was kind and very friendly. My only complaint was too much salt on the fries but Im not going to complain too much as it was still delicious.

Great whitefish chowder, homemade dressing recommendation is the tarragon honey... On the spinach, bleu cheese, bacon salad, Brie app is great, huge piece of whitefish in the basket (too many fries) and the roasted tomato, Munster, basil sandwich was good! The beer sampler is a great way to go if your unsure ... Personally I enjoyed the KBC Red Jacket.
