Boyfriend visiting for St. Patricks Day festivities and wanted to get some Irish food for dinner near my apartment. Picked here due to the high rating. Busy but not overly crowded, live music was really cool and the perfect level of loudness towards the back of the pub, which is quite spacious and has a very comfortable atmosphere. (Theres also a really great fireplace area in the back which I must come back to enjoy sometime). Service was really friendly and great, and the clientele seemed to be early 30s (like us) and 40s mostly - but a good mix. Very chill. The food though - THAT is the thing that will make me come again. From St. Patricks Day 2015 menu: Potato Skin Appetizer - so good! Homemade Beef and Guinness Stew is great! But the CROWNING GLORY is the Corned Beef and Cabbage. Im not big on it though my boyfriend is a huge fan, but we both agree this was AMAZING. We were in heaven: It was tender and succulent and the spices and flavors were just right. Very, very satisfied with our experience. Also, we found out that its only served 2 days of the year: Saturday before St. Patricks Day, and on the day itself. A very lucky find. I recommend everyone to try sometime!

From the moment we arrived we felt like we were out of place, being the youngest there by at least 10 years. I think because of this reason we received sub par service from the get go. My buddy was sassed by the bartender when he simply asked if a certain beer was on draft, and we while waiting for a table we watched a few other guest that came in after us get seated first. I really thought ashton kutcher was going to pop out and tell us we were being punkd because of how weird the staff was. The food was decent, but I will definitely not be retuning to this place anytime soon.

Overall this is a nice pub with great burgers. The patty is thick and hand-formed, reminiscent of my dads homemade burgers. They offer a good variety of quality toppings along with a special burger every month. Fries are excellent, although the portion is small compared to similar places. The atmosphere is dark in front, but its brighter in back during the day. They have a decent beer selection including local brews. Service is friendly but sometimes not so attentive.

I really love the warm and comfortable atmosphere. If you walk to the back of the pub you will find a big fireplace to keep you warm. The beer selection is great and the burger is ok, but I really recommend the Guinness Stew! The service was good, but not great. I think they were a bit overwhelmed when I was in... so I think this may be a rare occurence and will be happy to give them another visit.

Craft Beer selection was very nice and seems to rotate out on a regular basis. The server was extremely personable and was able to make excellent recommendations for beers based on what we told her we like. The burgers are excellent, Ive tried about 3 different kinds at this point, all delicious. I havent tried their whiskey list yet, but from the looks of it it is extensive and well priced.

I dont drink much but I legit like their food, too. The fries are the perfect kind – thicker than McDonalds but not quite a steak fry, and crispy on the outside... love the curry sauce, and also really love their shepherds pie (although I think they use beef instead of lamb). Its dark and not thrilling ambiance-wise but also not as loud as youd expect from a bar, which is nice for me.

The Grafton is a very good pub to go to with a wide variety of Craft Beer and good food. I was there on a Saturday night and after trying one of the craft beers the bartender recommended, she knew exactly what kind beer I should try next and much more. She is a asset to this pub. Also check out the Live Irish music on Sunday evenings from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Wonderful neighborhood pub with great beer selection, from well-poured classics like Guinness and Boddingtons to rotating local brews; excellent food (my vegetarian go-to is the grilled cheese with avocado, curry fries, and a cup of veggie chili); good service; and a warm, inviting, well-lit room where the sound level is just right for conversation.

This might be my second-favorite burger in the city--the Dubliner cheddar puts it right up there. And the seasoned fries are AMAZING. Beef stew is tasty as well, though I wish you could substitute lamb (I would pay the extra $ because Im that hoity toity). The Guinness on tap is the closest Ive had to Guinness in Ireland.

The Grafton was a great find. As a visitor from out of town, I found this place to be very personable. I was treated as if I was part of the neighborhood. They had excellent food, very helpful service and awesome live music. This is definitely a pub that ranks high on my list.

What I appreciate about the Grafton is its class. Theres no gimmicky Irish bric-a-brac; just a cozy atmosphere with great Irish fare on the menu. Theyve got some great Guinness blends (LOVE the Black Velvet), and as the title implies, the best beef stew in town.

This was a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon drinking our lunch. After we had spent a little more than an hour here, and Irish jam started, and entertained us even longer. The beer selection is great; with a knowing staff to guide your choices.

I live close to this place so it quickly became my local hangout. Awesome beer selection, friendly staff, always busy - but their setup means I can usually grab a booth & still have a fairly quiet spot for a small group conversation. Love this place!

The full Irish breakfast is the best in the city. Love the curry chips. Awesome selection of beers and ciders. The atmosphere is so pleasant and the hard wood is gorgeous. Service is always friendly and human. One of my favorite places in Chicago.

This place is a cool niche on the eclectic stretch of Lincoln. Good service with some decent brews. This is a cool place to just sit and talk with friends. No distracting TVs, nice booths that offer just enough privacy, and enjoyable food.

Had beers and dinner there twice in past 6 months. Very pleased both times. Excellent craft beer selection...lots of change....and an above average selection of foods....excellent chili, which is one of my usual tests. will be back

I love the Grafton especially in cold weather. Its warm and cozy near the fire. I can sit and catch up with friends over a cider or a beer. Its just a short walk from the Western Brownline stop. The menu is a solid pub food menu.

The beer is still great but the food has fallen off the cliff. My burger was basically fast-food quality. Maybe an off-night, but there was no love in the food. My wifes BLT looked like it was made in 30 seconds at a 7-11.

Cozy pub with great staff. I come here a few times per month for the various jams and open mics hosted in the back room. The vibe is friendly, the beer list is long and creative, and the food is good if nothing special.
