The food was good, but the service was terrible. I just got back from eating here with my aunt. We walked in at 9:30, they set us down and took our order. My aunt orders some red sauce for her Enchiladas. Food comes; theres no red sauce. Waitress tells us that theyre not going to give my aunt the red sauce, because they closed the kitchen, since the restaurant closes at 10. The waitress didnt even ask if this was ok. My aunt didnt want it if she couldnt have the sauce she wanted. So, the waitress says she can use the picante sauce thats at the booth, despite that its too hot for my aunt, whos an older woman. They also didnt give my aunt the beans she ordered, again saying that the kitchen was closed. So, the manager comes over and suggests maybe we didnt get the sauce on the enchildas, because the waitress was confused with the order, which wasnt true since she had the conversation with us and said they were out of it. He tells us we cant have the sauce or beans because the kitchens closed and that he has to have it closed since they close at 10... despite that they took our orders and charged us and didnt mention that they werent going to give us what we ordered. He explained it as so they could leave at 10 was why we couldnt have part of our order, while there was plenty of customers still in the place eating. This service was very poor. Most fast food restaurants are run better and management would be fired if they told you they werent gonna give you the food they already charged you for and made you wait for because they wanted to go home.

After about a 30 minute wait, the 2 of us were seated at a weird long table where our chairs were probably over 3 feet apart, we couldnt even have a conversation with each other as this place is excessively loud. We ordered our food, including a carry out for our daughter who stayed at home. We had to wait over half an hour for our food because there was a large birthday party going on. When the food finally arrived I thought they had forgotten the tostada part of my combination because it was buried under a pile of shredded lettuce, overall a very unappetizing presentation! My husband had a steak burrito he didnt care for at all, and when the bill came we saw that they charge a dollar extra if you want sour cream on the side. The waitress brought the bill and we paid and our carryout still wasnt ready. I went to the restroom before we left, one stall out of only two was not working, One of their poor employees was trying to fix it. She came out saw that the only sink was already being used and left without washing her hands! When we got home my daughter opened her food, what was supposed to be a chicken and cheese quesadilla and ther was basically no cheese on it at all!

For the most part I usually love this place! I can tell you that I have been coming here ever since it opened (I live very close). And..... is it bad that my husband really enjoyed that the workers fit the food experience being served???!!! Sorry but, right away we knew "they knew what they were doing"!! Love at first sight! I absolutely love the veggie quesadilla. It is the BEST!!! I do mean the BEST!! I love the chucky veggies including zucchini!!! Of course lots of cheese always gets the best side of my heart too!! But I can tell you they have gone down in service a bit. Hires are anyone and everyone. Good for that need a job but it is just that the ambiance has disappeared...that is for the reason for a 4 star!....I would have given a 5 star back in the day without hesitation. However, I will always return. They are ALWAYS busy, but I will wait.

Chips and Salsa- really delicious !! hot salsa even better. I ordered Chilaquiles topped with fresh grilled jalapeños but what I received was a big disappointment. They served me undercooked baked egg with corn chips in chilaquiles sauce topped with canned jalapeños. Upon telling server that eggs were not cooked right and I asked for fresh jalapeño-grilled, I was told thats how Chilaquilles suppose to taste and chef sliced fresh pickled jalapeño for my dish ! ( and for which I ended up paying $1 extra). Rest of the other entrées were good on our table. While my entree was a big disappointment (Chilaquilles), I would still recommend this place to vegetarians and people who enjoy hot salsa (a must try!). But stay away from Chillaquilles !! Getting infected with salmonella is the last thing one would hope from a dining experience !

3rd time I have been here. First 2 visits food was ok, service was horrible...very Slow and inattentive. However the first trip was a Saturday night and second visit was Cinco De Mayo. Visited the restaurant this evening with a friend. I had the Taco salad and it was awful. Virtually no lettuce and a big pile of unrecognizable tasteless ingredients lumped together in a overcooked mushy flour tortilla. In addition....service was awful. We ordered, food arrived in a timely fashion. Les then 10 minutes into our meal the waitress asked if we wanted boxes when we were CLEARLY still eating. About 5 minutes later she dropped of the bill. Never once asked if we needed anything, never asked how our food was, and for the last 30 minutes of our visit my glass sat empty on the table. 3rd and last strike for me....adious Las Palapas

After several friends recommended this place, I stopped by late Tuesday evening. Surprisingly it was still very busy at 8:30 pm. No tables available, so I sat at the bar, which I prefer usually anyways. The bartender was very busy, but acknowledged me right away and got my drink, chips and salsa and a menu quickly. I ordered the Tacos with ground beef. The food arrived very quickly. Very nice looking tacos, large and stuffed with toppings. Everything was going great at this point. However the food was very bland, not much flavor to anything, the beans and rice didnt have the usual kick of spice I expected. The tacos were ok, but again very flavorless. I doused them in the salsa, which was the best thing I had there! Maybe my palate was off tonight, Im most likely going to try again based on the rave reviews from my friends.

We came on a Thursday night and surprised that they had a Mariachi band in the middle of the week. The kids loved it, but it was very loud. The atmosphere was a lot brighter and more open than I expected from the outside... its a very pleasant place to be. Although the parking lot seemed packed, they were able to seat us right away. I got the Pollos Yucatan on the recommendation of our waitress, and it was delicious. The regular margarita is delicious (my friends strawberry margarita was gross). One margarita was strong enough to have me a bit tipsy! The kids loved the beef nachos, which was only $6 and was enough for both of them plus leftovers. All in all, we thought it was pretty good. Well be back.

I dont know whats going on in that kitchen. During a birthday dinner they brought my food to the table and you could smell it was burnt before waiter put it down,Couldnt eat it. Got a carry out, took first bite and it tasted burnt. Turned it over and the bottom of the food was charred bad, couldnt eat it. I got another carry out and convinced myself they couldnt screw up tacos. opened my container to find water at the bottom, shells falling apart as they were soaked and the water was literally dripping out of the tacos...Discusting!!!! I dont know how people are rating this food as "Tasty". Dont be fooled by the crowds the food is bad.
