I went to dinner here last night with 13 other co-workers. The service was horrible. Im not sure if our server Zach was new or what but everything took forever. We waited a solid hour before the first couple of plates arrived. To make matters worse, the dishes were all fired at random so at my table I was the only one with food and at the second table there were only 2 or 3 with food. Every time hed bring a dish out hed give it to the wrong person. We had to correct him each time. The final orders showed up to the table almost 3hrs after we arrived. By that time my co-workers ordered to go boxes. To add insult to injury the dishes were hit or miss. While my dishes (artichoke salad and steak in spicy sauce) were good, next to me the coconut "risotto" was awful and the fish tacos were bleh. My co-worker ate only 1 of the 2 tacos. Were still trying to figure out why they called it risotto when it wasnt made with arborio rice and resembled something more like sticky rice. There may be some hidden gems in the menu but given the service its not worth it.

As a native Californian, Id have to say that the food is a unique but welcoming take on whats considered Mexican food. The food is actually quite good. The portion sizes are perfect and you dont over-stuff yourself and whats good is that it isnt overly greasy like other Mexican restaurants. Ive been a total of three times so far and this is my take so far: The pros: Very friendly service from the staff and good, non-greasy foods. Great atmosphere. The cons: On two occasions, they brought out food for one person in my group, and waited about 10 minutes for the rest of the food to come out. Usually meals are supposed to come out around the same time. When the rest of the food was eventually brought out, I was sad to find that my meal was incredibly lukewarm. Table side guacamole not worth the price and the salsas are all lacking in flavor. Summary: Decent food, great ambiance. If they improved their execution of bringing out the foods all together, Im pretty sure Id return.

The restaurant is beautiful, however, the bathroom was disgusting and not well maintained. Tried to order a margarita off the menu only to find out that they dont offer all that are currently on the menu... Tried the guava margarita and it was delicious except I asked for sugar and got a mixture of sugar and salt on the rim. Ordered the guac and it was so good! But paired with tortilla chips that were so salty, everyone at the table scrapped the salt off the chips before eating them. The street tacos were supposed to be skirt steak but tasted like a bland beef roast. Service was fine for the most part. The waiter brought out toasted coconut flakes when my friend ordered coconut risotto. Said he didnt know what she was talking about and they didnt serve coconut risotto, even though its on the menu. Overall, not the excellent quality that I have previously experienced here. Disappointed.

The first few times I have been to Casa bolero it was a wonderful experience and I enjoyed it a lot, but after my previous meal there, I have to give it 3 stars. The meal tasted ok, not bad, but it just wasnt shocking in any way. The tableside guacamole was good, but much too expensive for how much you get. I got the fried jalapeno poppers baked because of food allergies and that should not have affected the flavor but they tasted extremely Bland. I also got their Mexican mac and cheese which I would give 4 stars, but overall I can only give three due to the experience. I hope I can go back again and order different menu items and enjoy it as much as I used to.

This place is great! I stopped in with my girlfriend on wednesday, which happens to be 20 dollar margarita pitchers. We ordered the guacamole for an appetizer and it was freshly made and seasoned nicely. We ordered the pacifico fish tacos and the cuban pork tamales to share. The tacos were perfect and the tamales were displayed well and tasted good. The service was great and the place had a nice warm feel to it. I will definitely be coming back.

This place is a "tapas" restaurant so its designed around small plates so you can sample and share. Once you go into this place with that understanding its all good. A bit pricey maybe for what you receive, but the table side guac is great and if youre a tequila drinker, they have a list to make your eyes bulge. They have something for everyone here. I recommend you try the Tres Leches cake - TO. DIE. FOR.

Maybe the people around Kalamazoo giving places like this a bad review dont understand tapas. Small plates. Delicious. We like to order a bunch of the small plates and share a bit of everything with everyone. You get the best of going out with friends, and fine dining! I have liked everything Ive tried, though the salsas could use some improvement, the guacamole is great! Hope to visit again soon.

We just attended a Bells beer/tequila pairing with specially selected food at Casa Bolero and it was excellent. The chef came out and described each dish and the general manager educated us on the tequila. They had a knowledgeable representive from Bells there too. We will definitely go back the food and service was fantastic! It was a fun night out in Kazoo.

The drinks are very good. I love tequila, so going there allows me to try their various kinds. The atmosphere is also pretty neat, being in downtown Kalamazoo. The food is pretty good, youd want anywhere from 3-5 small plates per couple depending on how hungry you are. It is a little expensive, I usually tend to spend around $100 for a date and myself.

Im always on a hunt for spicy drinks, and the spicy tequila here is amazing!!! The bartender was able to make me something pretty spicy! Update: Apparently, the state of Michigan changed its law on infused liquor so this place no longer makes infused tequila. I still liked the spicy drink I got but it wasnt as good as before

Came to Casa on Friday for margarita night. It took forever to get service. The waitress finially came to the table and took a order for one drink and before I could tell her another she took off and didnt come back for another 10 minutes. The drinks were good though. So I guess it washed out the bad.

Atmosphere is nice, service is very good, massive tequila selection for the connoisseur. Disappointingly, the food is rather bland and there is a failure to use fresh, in-season ingredients. The "ginger ale" is bar made, and is close enough to compliment tequila.

The food was so salty I could barely eat it, besides the fact that the food didnt taste good to begin with. Their queso has absolutely no flavor. They couldnt even get the margaritas right. I would have enjoyed Taco Bell more, never going here again.

Good service, small plates pick two per person. The guacamole is made fresh in front of you - excellent!!! Margaritas specials on Monday and Friday. Tequila flight special on Thursday the day I went. Tried many places, this one is pretty good.

Server was rude! She made it seem like any question we had was an inconvenience. The portions are also supposed to be "appetizer size" and at a $10 average they suggest you order a few and share? Will not be going back.
