Really bummed about my experience here as I was very excited to try it! We arrived 15minutes before 3pm and were ready to order immediately as we knew lunch would be ending soon. We tried to get a servers attention, but no one would come (many were standing around) someone came at 2:58pm and told us it was after 3 and it was now dinner prices. Luckily, i showed my phone and got lunch prices, but a dirty look. I know this sounds cheap, but it was the principal...they didnt care about the service, just making more money. I am a former server and know people will try to get a deal if they come in at 3:01...but we got there with plenty of time! I was still excited to try the food, but it came and i was so disappointed! I usually am not a picky eater...I like almost everything! This food was bland and not authentic at all!! Taco food trucks are much better. Will not be returning and will let my friends know how much of a bummer this overpriced place is. My boyfriend and I got sick after eating here too! That has never happened to me...even at Taco Bell. These are not inflammatory remarks either.(I wish) So bummed. Still on the lookout for good Mexican Cuisine in Kzoo!

Lets see... Where to begin... Im not sure if raters on here have been paid but it would seem so to me...I have been in this area and eating everywhere for over 25 years. I love Mexican.. Almost everything Mexican and I eat everywhere that pops up to already give it a try. Coming from Texas and having eaten at dozens of Mexican resteraunts, I have a fairly good barometer of whats good and whats not. 3 times of eating here.. And the last two were benefit of the doubt last chances.. Were absolutely awful. Food was slop... And I mean slop. Took 20 minutes to get a cherry come, a COKE ladies and gentlemen. This was after the server literally walked away in the middle of our order. I had no words. Then the order was wrong, as simple as it was. Service, food and overall experience was about the worst Ive ever had. And then the bill..I almost lately didnt pay because Ive had way better meals and service for the same price.. With waaayyyy better quality. Unreal. Dont waste the time and money

This was our go to Mexican restaurant when we are in Kalamazoo. We normally enjoy the food, staff, and service. I would normally give this 5 stars......but the experience listed below was 1 star. On New Years Day we had a very different experience. Our waiter never came back to check on us. He brought us our meal and I asked him about the queso dip and guacamole we ordered. He didnt even give us a chance to say at this point we didnt want either item. He brought it out after we had our meal. Defeats the purpose! When he brought us our meal, and our queso dip and guacamole my water glass was empty. He did nothing, and he was gone before I could even ask for water. I ended up going to the hostess stand to ask for water. The gentleman there stated "(oh give him a break he is probably tired)" Are you kidding me? I could care less if he was tired, fake it.....we have all been tired at work. Music is TOO LOUD

Every once in a while you find a place where you wish there were more stars to add to the review. This is one of those places. I love a good, authentic Mexican food. It has been relatively hard to actually find a place that serves good Mexican food lately though, until these guys came along. The menu can be a bit intimidating or confusing because there are SO many choices, but all of them are good. Ive tried a few different combinations and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. The food is just so delicious. Portion sizes are really big so be ready for leftovers. All that and the prices are excellent for the amount and quality of food you get. Atmosphere is very friendly. The kids just LOVE the place (11 and 13 year old daughters). If you like good Mexican food, this is very much worth the stop.

I am from Los Angeles and know all too well good Mexican food. The food here is delicious authentic Mexican food. The portions on each plate are very generous and the décor is as if you would have stepped into a Mexican ranch. The staff was very friendly and service was fast. I ordered the carnitas plate and it was very flavorful, I truly recommend it. The dish did come with an excess of onion, but I just moved it to the side and enjoyed my meal. I cant say that I would be coming back anytime soon because I do not live anywhere near the East Coast, but if I ever had to recommend an authentic Mexican place for someone visiting Kalamazoo it would be here.

Ok, the service was fast and friendly. They offer great prices, great margaritas and the portions are sizeable. But the food was mediocre. Ordered the sampling plate which has one of everything. Tamales were mushy, everything seemed sloppy to some degree. Beans were a step above store bought. Rice was ok. Had the fried ice cream, ice cream was freezer burnt. Overall good place for drinks and a small bite.

Place used to be great, as a returning customer who gets the same thing every time. (Burrito California) it has been coming out different Everytime. The last time I was treated very rudely, when my burrito came out wrong, I asked about it and was told that it has always been that way. I replied with "okay in that case can I get another beer and a menu" server never returned. They have went down hill.

Very loud with lots of drunk people walking around. Staff and management did not do anything about it. We asked our waiter to turn down the music and he ignored our request. I will never be coming back to this dump of restaurant ever again. Gallo Blanco on Portage Rd the other hand has better food and way better service. I will

This is the "local" Mexican restaurant that seems like a chain restaurant. You know... they have the same decorations when you walk in, menu looks nearly identical to the one in the next town over, but they all have their own unique name. This particular location can get *very* loud... dont go here for a quiet date nate.

This is our go-to local Mexican spot! Family owned, with three locations in the Kalamazoo area, the food is always good, affordable, and fast. With $6.50 lunch specials on weekdays, they are faster and better for lunch than any of the local Qdoba or Chipotle locations!

Friendly staff and good food. For an inexpensive outing, they usually have coupons in the weekly free paper. Their tacos are also an inexpensive option. Drinks are delicious. Margarita real is pricy but guaranteed to make you happier...

Monterey Burrito... best burrito I have ever had. There is ample amounts of steak, chicken & shrimp. I LOVE their salsa, tomatillo, and habanero sauces, too!! Have left overs for 2 more meals. The staff is fantastic, too!

Nothing particularly special about this location, but the food is still delicious. Like most legit Mexican restaurants, Los Amigos has excellent food, great service, and is crazy fast. Certainly cant go wrong eating here.
