Not impressed. Everything is extremely greasy. The meat is very very overly salty..and I over salt everything normally and just because the "smash fries" are "tossed in olive oil" is not an excuse for them to be soaking in a lake of oil/grease in the bottom of the tray. I had the truffle mushroom Swiss burger, and the grease was dripping down my arm. The inside of the buns were sponges filled with grease. The best part was that my burger actually did taste like truffle. Probably will not give them a second chance, at least for awhile. Although, the service was good, we took awhile to order and the cashier was patient.

They serve VERNORS!!!!! Cant complain about a restaurant with that on the menu. Also we mentioned to the general manager that I have an allergy to olives, which is rare and easily over looked. He walked through the menu as to what foods I should look out for when ordering there. He also took the time to look through all the ingredients/food products in the kitchen to see what each one contained and gave me a list before we left. I really appreciate the concern shown. Thanks!!!

If it wasnt for my dude Fred who was literally "the coolest" employee (billy madison voice) towards my friend and I, we wouldnt be writing this review. He gave excellent service, friendly, and was very attentive during our dine-in. Food was amazing, and he suggested the best shake (his personal favorite) the cookies and cream/butterfinger. If I return to grand Rapids in the future I will defiantly be stopping by and visiting Smash Burger again. Love Garrett

Food was nothing to write home about. Received food quickly, but employees gave me dirty looks when I asked for my cup for pop. Booths were ripped so bad and carpet was dirty and worn as if this place was here for 30 years. Employees sat down doing nothing while waiting for customers. I wont recommend or come again. Not impressed.

The staff is lazy and slow, and the food is barely a notch above a fast-food restaurant. For the price you pay, you would expect better service, better food, and portions. I dont see why they have a one "$" listed, because youre easily paying $10 a person here for the mediocre food and bad service.

My wife and I are regulars here. The burgers are great quality and the smashfries are delicious. Great service as well. If you plan on going frequently, sign up for their email club online to get frequent coupons in your email. Typically a free side of fries or something similar.

Holy crap Im glad I didnt listen to the poor reviews here. This place is awesome. Had the truffle burger and it was amazing. Service was fast too. I do wish they had combo meals and it is a little expensive (over $7 for just the burger) but I will definitely go there again. A+

Cashier had such a bad attitude, a non teen-ager who rolls their eyes... Really? Burgers are good, fries are disappointing even for shoestring fries. Costs as much as five guys. food taste and quality reminds me of steak and shake, maybe a few notches higher.

Service is not a priority here. Getting a pretty simple takeout order just took about a half hour. The food is exactly what you expect: lets face it, if youre reading reviews of national chain semi fast food, then quality is not your top concern.

I got the wrong order...well kinda they wrung me up for the wrong burger. As a result when I told them I had the wrong burger, he changed my order, gave me free fries, and a free drink. So ya these some cool people (and the food is pretty good)

The service was very poor. The head cashier kept giving me dirty looks.. I believe they did something to my food. I got sick the next day, after eating the greasy oily burger. I would not allow my own cat to eat at this place. Barf!

Great! My work colleagues and I just ate there today and we loved it. Were from Ohio and were in Michigan for a week and were really happy with the service. The food was awesome. I want one by my house now.

Good food, expensive prices One person can easily pay a minimum of $10 to purchase a burger, fries, and a drink. The olive burger I ordered was good, but definitely not worth the money I paid for it.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. I could live off their food. The fries are awesome. The burgers and chicken even more so. Prices are perfect. You get a free shake for your birthday. Deff Worth it.

Food was delicious, staff and manager were friendly. Check out the Veggie frites and the Mexican burger (only for a limited time. We had 7 in our party, everyone loved their food!

Poor burger.....ordered a burger with an egg and bacon on the side when i got home i got a "smashed "burger without egg and soggy bacon on my 1/2of a leaf lettuce. Not impressed

I would only recommend eating here if you like to stand at the counter for 10 minutes only to have nobody even take your order. Waited and didnt even see any employees anywhere.
