If I could rate my most recent experience there with less than one star, I would. I go to Mikata pretty often and am usually served with decent service; however, last night was very disappointing to me. I had called in my order on my lunch break at work so that by the time I got there, my food would have been ready. Keep in mind, this isnt the first time I have called in an order. They usually have it ready in a timely manner. When I got there to pick up my order, I had been told it wasnt ready yet as I was paying for it. I was willing to wait a few minutes since the restaurant was packed. Thirty minutes go by of me waiting there, being ignored by the servers, and still without my food. Finally, I ask the cashier if she could check on it. She went to the back and gave a good glance and came back and said it would be another five minutes. I was fine with waiting another five minutes. Ten more minutes go by and I notice people who had came in after me were getting their food and leaving before me. This frustrated me so, in the nicest way possible, I told the cashier lady that I was on a time limit and she proceeded to tell me to wait another minute. Five minutes later, a male server walked out and asked me what I had ordered. This lead me to think that they forgot about my order after multiple times of "checking" on it. I told him my order and explained that I had never had to wait this ridiculous amount of time for my food (which was only one entree, by the way, and I ended up spending 45 minutes out of my hour long break waiting) and that I had to be at work in ten minutes which is why I called in my order. The male server rudely shrugged me off and laughed in my face. Not once during my wait did any of the workers offer to help at all which frustrated me. By the time I got my food and drove back to work, I didnt have time to eat any of it. Mikata lost a regular last night.

Cheapest & Best Tasting Hibachi in Knoxville! Very good shrimp sauce and large portions. Hibachi entrees come with meat, excellent vegetables (my favorite, I always get extra), noodles, & your choice of rice. It is located in the plaza with King College. The portions are very large, I usually can get two meals out of one entree. If you plan on taking left overs home with you, be sure to squirt as much shrimp sauce as you want in your to go box.. If you ask for extra shrimp sauce to-go it will cost you $1 for a 2 oz cup. If you are ordering take-out and want additional shrimp sauce it will cost you $1 as well...People in the past obviously abused their shrimp sauce request in the past. While you are dining in each table gets their own bottle of shrimp sauce to use @ no extra charge. The restaurant is small for dining-in, and it gets very crowded during peak lunch & dinner times. Hibachi - 6 stars Sushi - 3.5 stars * (I usually order fancier types of sushi stuff/rolls usually on hidden menus at sushi restaurants. All I have seen at Mikata or tried were your basic on menu rolls. If they have fancier rolls or fancier hidden rolls I am unaware of them. I just prefer more exotic sushi rolls with fancier meats).

Saw the reviews on zomato, even the bad ones, decided to take our chances. So glad we did! Promtly seated, very friendly and assumptive staff. We decided to get the delux combo and pig out on sushi. We got all three orders of sushi at different times but i didnt mind because as soon as we scarfed one down the next came too the table. First the bonsai roll was phenomenal, then crunchy spicy tuna roll was a little hotter compared to others Ive tried but still delicious, then yellow tail roll was ok, first time trying it ever so i dont have anything to base it off of it was bland but still edible with . shrimp sauce Ginger dressing is amazing. Delux combo was a hit, the waitress brought an extra plate without us having to ask so we could share. It was fantastic!! Better than wasabis and cheaper too. Everything ran us about 47 bucks but we normally spend more for less food! Will definitely be back! Viewed 11 times

So I dont eat salads, I truly dont. Thats the food my food eats. My girlfriend is vegetarian so salads are like the only thing she does eat, and I make fun of her for it all the time, but man, they have this little salad thing you get whenever you order food, and its like, really really good. They have a nice selection of hibachi dishes too, and their chicken is amazing, but Im telling you, go for the little salad thing. But its only good if you add their shrimp sauce

It has a flavor that is unique in a good way. The meal comes with noodles and a salad, enough food to where you will leave feeling quite full. They serve "beef" instead of "steak" which I prefer steak. My coworkers liked Mikata better than Wasabi due to "the same quality food but a much lower price" at less than $8 for a meal. I personally rate Kabuki in Turkey Creek better due to the option of having steak but I will eat here again.

First visit, got my order for take-out. Got an order of the Vegetable Spring Rolls, good flavor, crisp and flakey. Got a sushi order of the Philly Rolls, good stuff. And my entrée was the Chicken & Scallops along with the vegetables, rice and noodles, a good amount of food. My only complaint would be the Scallops need to be cleaned a little better, but nothing to bad. And this comes with a salad and plenty of sauces.

The best beef teriyaki dish I have ever had. The staff were somewhat distant, due to the incredible dinner rush they were experiencing. The price is a little high, roughly $15 per person, but for the quantity and quality that you get, I believe that is fair. The meat was tender, the vegetables were not mushy, but rather crisp, and the ginger sauce is what you are expecting.

Awesome place to grab some sushi! Can be crowded most of the time because they are really that good. If you want some fresh sushi at an affordable price then this is the place. Their Habachi is great as well and not as expensive as some of the other competition out there. Attached are a few of my go tos when I eat here.

Mikata is delicious and they have great hot sauce and ginger dressing on their salads. The entrees come with rice and noodles which are very tasty, and I like the veggies, too. Awesome food for the price! I do wish they had a more organized way of getting people seated and a place to wait for a table on busy nights.
