This is the first review I have given . I am not one to blast or right negative remarks about my experiences with restaurants. Usually I blow things off and move on if I have an experience with sub par quality, not to nit picky. But paying for two people for two so called large salads, one with chicken tenders, an appetizer of coconut shrimp, and two soft drinks, a mix drink of coffee and baileys was right around 64.00 !!! WOW!!! I could accept that if the food was of quality, BUT this was your typical Chilis , Apple-bees, etc style menu but the quality was way below that. I would say maybe around fast food standards. The salads were "meh", salad dressing came in a bag, the coconut shrimp was right out of the freezer, generic , and the lame breaded chicken tenders looked and tasted like they came from a local elementary school cafeteria. I am comparing this to a restaurant we ate at the night night before in Omena, Knot Just A Bar. Which I HIGHLY,HIGHLY recommend. That night we had two large salads, one with Salmon, french onion soup, brushetta, and two soft drinks. The portions were very generous and the quality was WAAAAYY beyond Boone docks. Not even comparable , and we got out of there for about 20.00 dollars less. Unfortunately there are not to too many restaurants in Glen Arbor. Go to Arts instead . Arts is way beyond this. Knot Just A Bar might be out of your way, but if you dont mind driving a few, its way beyond the the overpriced sub par quality of Boone Docks. This is not the first time we have eaten there. This was my third and last and also my wifes. Unfortunately people from out of town, tourists, will be suckered into this place because it looks pretty cool from the outside, but thats as far as it goes. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!!

Anti-soccer establishment serving up overpriced, low-quality bar food. If that is what you are looking for, than this is your place. As a customer the process is somewhat akin to flying. You are a passive hostage throughout the whole experience; herded and waiting, waiting and herded. My family and I have been coming here for the last couple of years, tolerating the shoddy food and services. Never again. "We dont play soccer" was the response from the manager when I asked if they could tune one of their TVs to the 2pm Confederations Cup final between Germany and Chile. He explained that they needed to turn tables quickly; customers lingered when soccer was on the tv. He said he could try to put it on but that there would be no guarantee. I indicated my displeasure in his unwillingness to accommodate us and told him I would be posting feedback on social media. "I dont look at social media" was his response, then he followed me almost to the parking lot and said that he would "definitely not be playing soccer now." We went to Arts Tavern across the street to watch the game. They were much more accommodating and the beer selection was outstanding. Post-script: Sadly Chile fell 0-1 after initially outplaying Germany. BTW, we were the only folks watching the game--nobody lingered. We passed Boondocks on our way home and they had the Tigers game on the large screen on the patio. Looked like plenty of lingering to me.

This restaurant isnt even worth the one star rating, but zero was not an option. Attempted to dine here in fall of 2016. It was pretty busy. Six of us sat at the bar while waiting for our table. The bartender was having a conversation with another patron who must have been a regular. The customer was joking around with the bartender but the bartender was extremely rude. Ive never heard the F word used so much. And never by an employee in front of customers. We were shocked. He made no attempt to keep it quiet. There were waitresses giving the bartender their drink orders and he didnt seem to care about filling them. Drink orders were getting backed up. We overheard wait staff complaining about how many tables they had. This was one of the only places around to eat, and it was off-season. Youd think theyd be grateful to have customers. After about 45 minutes of listening to the bartender and hearing the other staff complain, we left. Luckily there was another restaurant open because by this time it was getting late. I was disappointed because we had eaten there a few years ago and liked it.

Waited 7 minutes to be greeted by waitress. Had to specifically ask for glasses of water. Six were then brought for a party of eight. A second request had to be placed. $13 piña colada consisted of congealed piña colada mix over ice. Should have been blended if premade mix was being used. Drink was garnished with lime wedges instead of the correct pineapple or cherry. Service was extremely slow. The reason given was that so many people were ordering fried foods that the fryer was backed up. Please dont offer food for sale if the kitchen is not prepared to make it in a timely fashion. Cole slaw was premade and poor quality. Wifes salad had unidentifiable vegetable mummies in it. Waited 1 hour 10 minutes from being seated to having food on the table. My wifes artichoke parmesan salmon may have had a plastic wrapped artichoke waved at it from another room, but that is as close as artichokes got to that plate. Cheese was present, but was not parmigiano-reggiano. Whitefish was middle of the road. French fries were limp and lukewarm. Tipped $0.32

We went here a few years ago and loved the onion rings, so we decided to come again since we were around the area. I wish we hadnt. They changed their onion rings from nice thick slices to the generic rings you can get about anywhere else. I asked what soup options they had today and I was told different from what they had on the blackboard. I ended up getting chilli and it and it turned out to be just that, chilly. For my "main" dish i got the boneless chicken wings with "prickly hot sauce". The chicken was barely sauced with what turned out to be Franks red hot. Other than that the food tasted better than it looked. Now for the service, our waitress wasnt bad but didnt reach my expectations. She missed obvious signs to get refills and to ask what was wrong with the chilli. They werent even busy, we were probably her only table. Overall disappointed but food was fine, nothing to go out of your way for.

Wow. Not what to say. We waited about 5 mins for a server to come greet us. The menu states that the fish are fresh everyday. First, we ordered the ax handles -Im pretty sure they were frozen in a premade package, the. Just heated up. The cheese was not goozey. The marina sauce seemed to be home made which was the nicest part of dinner (and the baked potatoe). The beer battered asparagus was ok, and the salad was good. Then we got the fresh same day caught whitefish. At the end of the meal I asked if the fish was brought in this morning and the waitress laughed and said "no." I explained, being from the Upper Peninsula we are use to fresh whitefish....she said "oh." Didnt even offer to take anything off of the check. I would never go here again. If you have to choose between boondocks and picking up cold cuts at the grocery store across the street - get COLD CUTS.
