I have to disagree with anyone who said this place served "the best cat fish ever." The cat fish was ok, but had that earthy, almost dirt taste to it. My boyfriend is from Texas and Ive had catfish exclusively in the south, so perhaps were biased with expectations of quality. My boyfriend got the medium catfish platter, which included 8 pieces of fried catfish (each about the size of 2 Wendys nuggets), hushpuppies, and 2 sides. The hushpuppies were very good, more on the sweet than savory side. I had the seafood trio, which included fried shrimp, clam strips, and cat fish as well as 2 sides (okra and sour cream and chive fries). The batter on the shrimp was delicious in flavor but soggy. The same batter was on the okra but crisp and made for a really delicious snack. The clam strips were a little overdone and flavorless. The highlight of my meal was, by far, the sour cream and chive fries. These were wedges that were cooked perfectly and had great seasoning! I highly recommend them! The service was sloooooow. It took over half an hour for us to receive our food in a less-than-half-empty dining room. This was not the servers fault, but the result of a slow kitchen. We traveled from Indianapolis to try this place out and I would not bother to make the trip again.

I saw the one post about slow service and claiming that it was not "the best catfish". As for the service aspect, I do not know what happened in this instance. However, I can tell you it is not the norm. You will get your food in a reasonable time. Now the catfish issue. There was a timeframe when catfish were scarce, and even downright unavailable. The "only" catfish available was imported from Vietnam. I have a feeling that is what the lady above ran into. If that is what she ran into, that is what she ran into, no way around that unfortunately. Now, US farm-raised catfish is still very scarce. However, Country Catfish pays top dollar for their superior quality US farm-raised catfish. In fact, they under charge for what the customer is getting. Pretty much anywhere else you go, is serving a lesser, Asian catfish. Also, their hush puppies are the best.

So ridiculous... I finally caved and decided to try this place with my fiance. I unfortunately never got the chance...Walked in and followed the sign and seated ourselves...In this process we passed all 3 waitresss whom all made eye contact. We proceeded to sit 10 mins while one waitress ran the register...One was taking orders for a table of 6 and getting their drinks...the other waitress took out a refill and cleaned off a table(while several other tables were clean and nobody was waiting for a table)...Not one time did any of the speak to us let alone bring menus or take a drink order. As we stood up you could here them talking about the fact we had walked out...Seriously!?!?!

Our waitress was amazing she was very kind and friendly but the guy working up front with her had no customer service skills what so ever. He didnt talk much and seemed very grumpy. But Im not gonna rate my experience anything but a 5 cause the fish was fabulous and our waitress was so great to us loved it . They should make her the manager instead of him put him on dishes he dont need to be around customers at all.
