What a disappointment. Based on positive reviews and a friends recommendation, my wife and I tried it out on "date night". Visually, the dining area is trendy, new, and clean. You can tell the owner(s) earn a good living and put some back into the business. It was a pleasant surprise from other Mexican restaurants. Any ways, our server was very young, but he did an excellent job taking car of us and two large parties next to us. The chips were hot but neither the chips or the salsa were worth writing home about (not good or bad). I ordered the beef fajita dinner and my wife ordered an enchilada dish. Neither of us liked our meals. My fajita lacked flavor, of any kind. I could barely taste the meat when eating it by itself. Normally, the meat is marinated to add flavor. For comparison, the fajitas at Taqueria Lupitas were full of flavor (but their atmosphere suggests they serve more take-out). All in all, we wont be back. While we liked the atmosphere, we did not like the higher menu prices that pay for that atmosphere. If the food is good (like at Taqueria Lupitas, and its about 40% cheaper), youre willing to look the other way at higher prices, a cheap atmosphere, or poor service. Ultimately, its the bland food that keeps us from returning. PS; My wife and I tend to buy only a few dishes at Mexican restaurants. Our meals at Taqueria Mi Pueblo were $19.23 + tip. At Taqueria Lupitas, similar meals were $12.50+tip, but my fajita had beef AND shrimp.

This is the most Authentic Mexican restaurant You will find In detroit. Im from Southern California and the competition is massive and hard to decide which Mexican restaurant to dine in, but here without a doubt Mi Pueblo is way above his competitors. Ive been dining here over 3 years now and sure Ive had maybe some downs like long waiting times and maybe a dirty menu which is frustrating but you never see their staff sitting or being lazy so its understandable because ofcourse theyre mostly busy and theyre running up and down to satisfy the customer. All this rarely happens but sure it happens, its a restaurant, lets be realistic. I can guarantee you that any dish you choose from the menu will satisfy your taste buds and you will go back another day. Aside any flavorful dish youll choose you, will get quality ingredients and I can tell you because I was a chef in Italian steak house over 6 years, and having said that I am a huge critic when it comes restaurants and this place shouldnt disappoint you. Final star rating 4.8

I was told about this place by a coworker. I took my family for dinner. The first thing I noticed was the clean and festive appearance of the place. When we arrived we were told there was a 20 minute wait to be seated. The wait was really 10 minutes. When were we seated we were promptly greated by our waiter. The menu options are fantastic lots to choose. I enjoyed the Spanish labels of the food along with the English description. The patrons really make the place great. On our first visit the couple next to us conversed with us as if we were neighbors. I can see this place getting very busy on the weekends. The portion sizes are worth the prices. Nothing on the menu is overpriced. I ordered a steak. It was not the best steak of my life but it was a decent steak. The drinks are good and strong, if you like adult beverages. Very nice restaurant. Great atmosphere. Great prices.

I asked for a LARGE shrimp soup without potatoes (bcz i dont like them), wich cost around $10, well when i recieved my plate it was so empty and it had only 9 shrimps..i asked if i was able to replace the potatoes for other vegetables, the waitress was very kind, she called the manager when he came she had already had explained to him what was happening; then when the MANAGER came he told me that he could not help me, there was nothing he could do because all the plates are frozen and ready to warm and serve and that he wasnt going to take from other plate just to replace my potatoes because he wasnt going to be able to sell the other plate if he take any vegetables just to give them to me...the WORST service ever, i will not go back!!!!! I paid $10 for just liquid (soup) with 9 shrimps and some vegetables....

You can find much better REAL Mexican food anywhere else in Mexican town, and in Southwest Detroit. The Mi pueblo team, the cooks, and the management are grimy and will try to cheat you in anyway they can. They treat the customers terrible, and the employees even worse. The managers and the cooks are a disgrace to the Mexican culture indeed. Also when I ordered my plate, you could tell that it was filthy, the dishes had left overs stuck to my plate, and the food looked like they had dropped it on the floor, considering it had a few hairs and dirt on it. And yet the managers did not let me leave until I payed. They are very disrespectful, and a bunch of assholes. Please spend your money on much better environment, quality and quantity..

I have to mention Juan our waiter. Amazing. He was on top of everything. Drinks were full, fresh salsa all night w/ warm chips, and was very cordial. Of course, this place is always pretty welcoming and the decor is nice, but soccer was on. On a Saturday night full of great football games international soccer was on every TV. :-( Went from excellent to very good that quick. But food came out perfectly prepared and fresh. Had the Enchilada dinner & my GF had small Botana w/ a full pitcher of margarita... $31. Ill take it! Drinks were a little pricey. But the experience was perfect. You know Mexican food is good when Latinos actually eat there. BEST in Southwest Detroit.

I ate tacos, my wife pozole and my kids gallitos, we all enjoyed the food and the personnel attending the place is very nice. I highly recommend the place. Yo comí tacos, mi esposa pozole y mis hijos comieron gallitos, disfrutamos mucho la comida, y el personal que nos atendió fue muy amable. Recomiendo ampliamente el lugar.

This used to be my favorite place for many, many years but our most recent visit has changed that....they must have gotten a new cook because the food wasnt the same. It did not taste as good as it used to be. After a 30 min wait we were sat in a corner on the second floor where the employees constantly opened the door and it was freezing. I had my newborn baby so that was inconvenient for me i asked to move and was told i would have to wait more time, however there were plenty of open tables everywhere. My favorite place that i would only eat at changed and now i have to find a new place, time to try out some new restaurants in Southwest Detroit

One of My favorite Mexican restaurants.. I frequent here, been here for lunch, dinner. Every Time I have been satisfied. Hot chips with two different sauce options, yum. Request for the third green colored hot sauce, if you like super hot. Ordered different items. Burrito, chille rolano, quesadilla, etc etc every thing was amazing. Generally they accommodate special requests and modifications. I like some of their combos as well served with rice and beans. They have speciality Mexican drinks like any other Mexican restaurant - the tamarind soda. Must try.
