1st off, I have to admit I am a bit biased as I am friends with Lindsay, and have just never gotten a chance to eat here before. Also, because I do know her, I had very high expectations, and they were certainly met! I went with 2 friends for a moms night out. It was a Friday evening and we were seated right away. I did notice a faint cigar smoke smell from the cigar lounge downstairs. But it is a sweet, earthy, wood smoke smell, not at all off putting like cigarettes. After about 10 minutes I didnt even notice it. The atmosphere is really nice, with a cool lit up bar, comfy leather couches and dining tables. It is a bit loud in there as there is nothing dividing up the dining/bar spaces. We each ordered martinis, everyone was happy with their drinks. I got the Mango Madness, and it was awesome, still want more! Super rich mango flavor! I ordered their Steak Diane for my entrée. The steak was beautiful, tender and cooked perfectly! (I am SUPER picky about this, as I like my steak r-a-r-e, and hardly ever get it like I want it. A nice hard sear on the outside and raw in the middle.) The cognac mushroom steak sauce was perfection! If I hadnt been out at a restaurant I seriously would have licked the plate, it was that good! The redskin mashed potatoes were a little dry, but seasoned nicely and were great with the Diane sauce. The asparagus was cooked a perfect al dente. I got a second martini, this time the Berry Drop - also very yummy! I would definitely recommend Downtown Main to friends and family! It is not a family place, but perfect for a date night with your special someone, or a night out with friends! Thank you Lindsay, I will be back for more!!

This place was average. The prices are pretty good for the area, but over-priced for the quality. The martinis were good but nothing exceptional; almost like something was missing and definitely over-priced (a few chilled ones were luke-warm and watered down). The beef and calamari were amazing but I wouldn’t order the shrimp or crab again. The ahi was terrible, way over-cooked and low quality. Service was slow. Orders were messed up and delayed and the server was defensive and blamed the kitchen and bartenders for it (which was awkward because we didn’t even say anything). It took almost an hour to get out tapas. We wanted to order more food as the portions were small but it took so long we ended up stopping on the way home to get something else. I might go back again but not for dinner, maybe just a beer and the beef tips. The outside looked nice.

I just wish the food was better. Service was great and atmosphere (live music on outdoor patio) was nice. Inside seemed nice too. Unfortunately, the food was a bit less than stellar. The steamed mussels were delicious, but the main courses we had both lacked. My wife had a special cajun dish that was way-over-the-top spicy. We took it home, combined it with some fresh brown rice that wasnt saturated with the spices and it was sooooo much better. My whitefish was kinda bland. The food was over salty in general...giving us that Im retaining water bloated feeling several hours later. Close to being great and a place we would go back to...but probably not going to happen due to the average food. I think they need a real chef.

The location is great, youre downtown with a great view of people shopping around. The restaurant is a seat yourself place, which prevents the staff of having any control of who comes in, where they sit, and how long have theyve been waiting for service. Once someone finally acknowledges that you are there, the service is good. My disappointment came from their website, which features a completely different menu from what the restaurant has to offer. That was a bummer, I chose the place based on the menu online. The kitchen is open late which is a plus. The food was good, nothing memorable. You may like the place as it is one of the better ones downtown.

I dont even know where to begin to rate this restaurant. First, the decor is trendy, classy, and comfortable (not always the easiest feat). Second, the food is fantastic. I dont think I have ever had a bad meal there. The martinis are fantastic, and there is something for everyone. Their extensive drink menu is one of the best in the area, the waitstaff is also wonderful. Additionally, we have hosted private parties (large and small) and the owners have bent over backwards to make sure we were accommodated... those experiences were always better than I could have even imagined. I wish I could give them more stars.

The food is usually good but the service is typically lacking. When you walk in you are greeted upon entry but it takes an excessive amount of time for the first greeting from wait staff. After this point, you are usually left for extended periods of time with empty drinks. I have visited twice in the last 7 days and on both occasions I waited an excessive amount of time for drinks, witnessed other patrons get up and ask for drinks because their waiter or waitress was not attentive, and had others join my party that were ignored. It is a bit absurd considering that it is one of the more expensive spots in Brighton.

This place Has amazing Martinis and food! But the reason Im giving this place 3 stars is that the last few times my girlfriends and I went there the service was horrible. This last time, We sat in the bar area for 10 min with no service. We switched our seats and moved to the main bar and it took another 7 min for the bartender to ask us what we wanted, with no menus. The bartender brought our drinks but still no menus, didnt even bother to ask if we were eating. Ive been there before with both good service and bad. Ill have to go back again and see what the service is like, then I can rereview.

Appetizer was wonderful, waitress was very kind. Cigar Louge? Only one in Livingston county? BIG disappointment, including walkin in humidor, REALLY? I waited a year to bring my brother here. At 6pm everyone smoking was asked to leave for a private party that no one told us about. Management "Come On" We all had to put our cigars out. We paid our bill and left. Owners need to see other cigar bars to bring theres to be what is isnt . Just sad. Owners take a ride to other cigar bars in Oakland county. Yes I live in Livingston County.

Went here for the first time with friends and WOW the martini menu was extensive! I ordered the cherry bomb and it was fantastic. Our waitress was great and very attentive. We only ordered the Tapas sampler to munch on but it was a great appetizer. The atmosphere in here is very appealing; there are tables, leather couches or you could sit at the bar which is lit up by different neon colored lights. Its just beautiful and a great location for a romantic date night! Will definitely be going back

Fantastic food - one of the best burgers Ive had for $8, and if youre willing to spend more you can go all the way up to Filet Mignon. Drinks were delicious and the atmosphere is good - classy, but there is little to break up the noise of other customers, and dont expect the staff to be checking in on you too frequently, which is great for taking your time, but your water glass may not stay full. Overall, fantastic place, despite a couple flaws.
