I have been a past customer on many previous occasions but will NOT return again. The most recent visit occurred one evening following a concert at nearby Hill Auditorium. Arrived with friends at about 9:30 PM and we were quickly seated. Then things took a turn for the worst. Once we were seated we intended to have some casual conversation over a meal and some drinks. We were never informed that the place would close in less than 25 minutes. The waiter had a curt demeanor and kept pushing us to get the order placed. It didnt take us long to decide what to order and the food arrived within 10 minutes. It was now approaching 10 PM. Then the waiter returned and brusquely asked if we wanted anything else because the kitchen was closing. Really? That was the first moment we realized the place was about to close. He finally delivered a liqueur I ordered and I had to squint to see what was in the glass because it was anything but a reasonable amount for a charge of almost $9. I guess the bartender was also trying to convey a message to not stay long. Well as we tried to finish eating this waiter kept fussing with the condiments on the table and the staff kept bugging us to clean the used plates away. Not once did he thank us for our business. So frankly all 4 of us felt like we were given the bums rush. The correct way to handle this was to have informed us from the get-go that the restaurant was about to close instead of rudely rushing us along. I was so incensed that I wrote a letter to the Manager but he/she never had the civility and professionalism to reply. That was almost a month ago. Having been so poorly treated, I refuse to patronize this place ever again. I suggest that there are many other nearby high quality places to eat where your business is appreciated and the staff is courteous.

When the city of Ann Arbor meets the University of Michigan... Redhawk sits on the west side of State Street; the diag of the University of Michigan on the east side. And inside Redhawk, customers reflect the location -- students, families, those of retiree age... they all come for Redhawks food and drink, all of it good enough to bring them back again and again. Seating is primarily booths. A wood bar with an assortment of taps stands on the right as you walk in. Wine is superb (the pinot grifio is a must-try). But beer is king (if you like dark, ask for a Moose Drool). Plenty of filling appetizers (in fact, theyre big enough to qualify as full meals). Super service. After eats and drinks, head north State Street, take a left on Liberty then stroll through Ann Arbor -- its all part for the Redhawk experience. Enjoy.

I normally love Red Hawk. I went there for a friends graduation with a group of 15 for their happy hour, and had an awful experience. We were there for about an hour and had ordered appetizers and and a couple drinks each having lively but not inappropriately loud conversation, and the manager told us we were cut off and refused to serve us anymore drinks. As we were planning on spending the night there with a budget of $500 we were extremely disappointed and dumbfounded. When we tried to talk to the manager he was extremely rude and aloof. What an unpleasant experience. Why have a happy hour if you dont want customers to drink!? Their loss though--we were going to spend a boat load of money. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Burger here was genuinely good, though thats hardly a rarity in Ann Arbor. Was less impressed that a side of 5 whole onion rings cost $4 and wasnt too spectacular. Beer selection was not so great. Service was acceptable. In general the experience seemed very overpriced for what was received. It would be hard to find a compelling reason to come back when Ashleys is just a few doors down. I tend to think of Ashleys as somewhat pricey but it is still better value and selection than Red Hawk.

its too cramped, but if this place isnt full on a night when everywhere else is then i definitely would be alright with spending some time there. the beer isnt cheap, but the location is just as good as ashleys next door. the decor is sub-ashleys, though, which is probably why red hawk can seem cramped but ashleys seems cozy. the food is on-par with its price point and in general this place is great if youre not pinching pennies and your group can comfortably fit.

I do not support this business. HORRIBLE SERVICE. The manager/host was extremely rude to my family from the minute we set foot inside. Ive never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. While this place has a kids menu it is NOT kid friendly. The waitress did not give us a second to breath before she was asking us what we wanted to drink. In addition, their food is mediocre at best. I will never be returning to this restaurant again and neither should you.

Delicious food and when every other place is issued, chances are theyll have a spot for you or be able to seat you relatively quickly. Decor is simple, relying on the wood and brick of the old building to keep it sophisticated. Most recently I enjoyed the fish tacos, though Ive been known to have any of their burgers, all of which are very very good. Perfect location on State St, as well, and they support the good work of UMS.

1) The service was really bad. The waiter treated us badly, it seem he was annoyed by our presence. 2) The lamb burger used to be extremely good. It is not anymore, the quality of the food decreased and the prices are the same. 3) For the same prices, you can get better service and better burgers in downtown, not far from State St.

Great place. Fantastic food for a pub and a decent beer selection. Picture upscale menu in a pub. Casual place and service is usually spot on. I have been going here for several years and the quality of the food has been very consistent. Recently I noticed their prices have increased on the menu but other than that cant complain.

This my regular happy hour bar and I love it! The food is great, and happy hour prices are decent. The staff is very nice, if not always super chatty. The only incident that Ive ever had here was being called homosexual slurs when I was on a date with a guy. The staff, however, removed him.

One of my favorite places to eat in Ann Arbor. Their burger is to die for. The menu is classic bar food but with a bit of an upscale twist. Prices are great for the quality of food. I loved that they had Sprecher root beer (from Milwaukee, made with local honey) on tap!

One of the most impolite servers Ive ever seen in my life was at this place! Not only was she rude, she looked right into my eyes and called us rude! What a shame! You be the judge, what can a customer ever do to deserve such an impudent behavior?

Cuban is a little non-traditional, but still very surprisingly good. I liked the pickled onion detail. Also- I hate steak cut fries, and their steak-cut fries are very very good. Is pricey, wouldnt say worth it, but still very good food.
